Can a first love be rekindled when the past is filled with heartache?

After a personal tragedy, Sage Hamilton left the town she’d grown up in and the boy she’d given her heart to. With a vow never to return, Sage forged on with her life in order to forget the sadness of her past.

Keith Mills loved Sage from the first moment he spotted her ambling down the hallway of their middle school. And she’d felt the same about him. Or so he’d thought until she’d walked away from everything they’d meant to one another with a tearful and rushed goodbye.

But now, eighteen years later, she’s back and, as the town’s new doctor, it looks like she’s staying. Can Keith put the hurt of Sage’s dismissal to bed for good? And will she want to rekindle the love that had burnt so bright all those years ago?

I loved this very sweet second time around romance.
It's about family and coming home and Christmas angels and it brought back the magic of the holiday season in the middle of a May heatwave.
A great story with a pair of protagonists who are getting toward the end of their thirty-something's regardless whether you're looking for a book to read by the fire on a cold December night or a beach read on your summer holidays.

This was a wonderful, short, sweet, romantic story centered around Sage and Keith.  I enjoyed reading about them, discovering their past and being hopeful for their future.  I really liked the angel tree and reading another book set in the small town of Dickens.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

SECOND CHANCES FOR A HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Childhood sweethearts, Sage Timm and Keith Mills were the first of many things for each other. Sadly, she says goodbye, a clean break—and breaking both their hearts. Twenty years later, Sage has returned to Dickens as the town’s physician.

Dr. Sage Hamiliton will get an emergency call that one of her octogenarian patients, Corrine Mills, took a bad fall, breaking her hip. Sage will be at the hospital running tests, needing to know what happened to cause Corrine to pass out. She will also learn that Corrine’s grandson was also called and on his way.

“If I’ve learned anything this past year it’s that happiness is a choice. You can either wallow in sorrow, live with regrets, or move forward.”

Keith Mills arrives expecting Dr. Martin, but instead faces Sage, and learns she is now Corrine’s doctor. Together they will go see Corrine when she comes out of surgery and is in recovery, but she isn’t waking up—sometimes with elderly patients, it takes longer.

The story is an emotional reunion between sweethearts that went separate ways. They learn about each other, careers, and failed marriages. No matter how much time, the chemistry is still there. Before they can even think about themselves, they must focus on Corrine and helping her. The story will cover what happened before the breakup, why they never found one another, and what they both want for the future. Yes—you do get the coveted happy ending.

Such a sweet, second chance romance! Sage and Keith have a chance to renew the love they once shared when he comes back to Dickens to help his grandmother. This is another great addition to the Dickens romance anthology.

Sage and Keith meet again for the first time in many years. She's back in Dickens after a nasty divorce - he's back when his grandmother is ill and injured. With more in common than ever, they find another opportunity to get together. This is a terrific addition to the Dickens series.
