His band, Embrace the Fear, were living the rock ‘n roll dream as an up-and-coming band under Masterson Management. They weren’t rolling in the dough like the guys from Social and Maiden were, but things were good.
Outside of his love life that was.
David wasn’t a player, unless you count video games. He grew up in a middle-class family. Both his parents worked and were supportive of him in every way. To this day they were still head over heels in love with each other.
The one thing missing from David’s life was the same kind of connection his parents had.
But David’s needs were a bit unorthodox and not always welcome with guys closer to his age. Would an older man look past the number and trust David to take care of them—body and soul?
Jordan Wright has a thriving business thanks to being awarded the contract to manage the catering for Rocktoberfest for a second year.
He’s thrilled to be back at the venue again—maybe this is the year something special will happen, although he’s not counting on it.
Since Jordan’s last failed attempt at a relationship, he’s sworn only to engage in meaningless hook-ups.
But Jordan longs for a daddy of his own.
Will he ever be able to open his mind, and his heart, again? Enough to trust another man, not only with his body, but to catch him when he falls.

I liked the idea of this, but the formatting was weird, the characters change entirely and the flow was just off.
Every chapter was a stream of consciousness - time would pass between paragraphs but there was no indication until you read further. If there had just been some spacing when the time and place changed it would have helped so much! Every chapter I was struggling to work out what was happening when and who was there.
I also liked the idea of a younger Daddy, but it was so abruptly done, going from hookups to nothing to Daddy and boy. One second they're avoiding each other like the plague, the next Jordan only refers to David as Daddy from that point onward. It was hard to wrap my head around because it was like each character was two completely different people - before the ex arrived / after the ex arrived. It was really jarring and I never quite got back into the story.
The pacing also threw me, because after about 50% the drama around Jordan had resolved and they were together declaring their love. Not a lot happened after, so it fell really flat and I couldn't figure out why the book kept going in all honesty.
THE ROAD TO ROCKTOBERFEST 2022!!!! It's a great year for Rock and Roll!! Embrace The Fear has been touring the world. David the Bassist is living the life to it's full potential. Jordan owns his own catering business. He's a man with a troubled past. Attraction sometimes can't be denied. TL TRAVIS pulls back the curtains on these two. I loved this Book. These Characters were AMAZING. I loved the whole dynamic of these two. It was great to catch up with the bands! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THE ROAD TO ROCKTOBERFEST 2022!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed David and Jordan's unconventional relationship. I liked seeing David mature as he took on the role of Jordan's Daddy, he might have been younger than Jordan, but he really was perfect for it. It broke my heart that Jordan had to go through all that with his mother and his horrible ex. David and Jordan were really great together and it was sweet seeing how David took care of Jordan when he was in Daddy mode.
I loved seeing the band together, they were amazing! And of course, I loved that we got to see so much of Ely and Rhone, I just adore them.
Overall, a really lovely daddy-kink (no ADBL), hurt-comfort read. Just proceed with care because there's a scene that deals with physical abuse and it's pretty graphic, so you're warned. Other than that, I have no trouble recommending it.

Take the first step to trust. David's band, Embrace The Fear is doing okay. They are making their way to the top, getting recognition. David, wants to find his person. He, wants to care for and nurture his person. He wants a relationship like his parents have. Jordan's business is doing well. He won the contract to cater Roctoberfest the second year in a row. He gives up on finding "the" relationship. He doesn't think he can trust anyone to meet his specific needs. Their journey is not smooth, but the author takes us through their discovery with fun, care and a lot of hotness. Will the band hit the top? Can Jordan and David successfully meet each other's needs? Does the age gap add a bit of spice? Will they learn to trust themselves and each other? Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was one of the few books that I anticipated from this collection. If you have not read Rhone’s Rebel, it is encouraged that you read it first. (OR go back when you are done.) This book picks up right at the end which is fantastically seamless. We learn everything that Jordan has been through, it is hard to read in a few places. (read the triggers) But knowing that David is the one who can put Joran’s fears at ease was beautiful. Not to mention giving Jordan the one thing he never had a chance to experience. One fantastic family with a mix of three different bands. We know that our favorite rockstars have a spicy side. But now we add a daddy to the mix. Absolutely outstanding TL Travis. We need the next book already.
4.5 stars. An okay start, as David is caught by Rhone in the laundry room being naughty with Jordan. A confusing start for me with the Jordans', as the characters' names are David Jordan and Jordan Wright. This book featured all the band members in some way for the novel. Rhone and Ely contend with Ely's homophobic father and the fallout with Ely's little sister. David and Jordan were lovers who didn't have a deep communication this far, but it changes in this story. Jordan comes from an abusive relationship and has bared off feelings and relationships for a while. David's Disaster is a fast-paced story for them both to find love. All the band members are one big family who comes together to help when they are needed.
Such an amazing story! I absolutely loved these guys! A pretty emotional read but it is absolutely beautiful how all these rockstars just make up a big loving family that has each other’s backs without a doubt! David and Jordan were so perfect for each other! A very well written story! This author’s rockstar books are definitely some of my favorite! They just pull you in and definitely pull at your heart! I definitely recommend reading! I am voluntarily leaving an honest review for this complimentary copy of this book
David’s Disaster is part of the multi author The Road to Rocktoberfest 2022 series. If you read Rhone’s Rebel then you met Jordan and David. I was excited waiting for this book, I loved Rhone’s Rebel and couldn’t wait to be back in this world. Loved, loved, loved David and Jordan! David is the bassist and Jordan runs his own catering business. Jordan had a troubled background, and David was the person to calm him. David’s Disaster had one of my favorite troupes, a younger Daddy/older boy. Overall, a fantastic addition to the series. Well written with fast pacing!
I love this book. David Jordan is in the band Embrace the Fear. Life is good and they have a great management team in Masterson Management. David feels like something is missing. He discovers who he is, what he wants and who he wants. Will it send Jordan running? Jordan Wright business is doing well especially with the contract to cater Rocktoberfest. Jordan is all work and no play. He has sworn off men after a failed relationship. Will he run from a relationship with David or give love a chance?
Rounding up to 3.5. This story is exactly what I want in this series. The main romance is backed up by the music scene with Rocktober Fest taking center stage. (2022 series as been really uneven with a lot of the stories hardly about the rock star scene or festival at all) Now the negative which knocked down my rating. The formatting was awful. Several times I was thrown from the story because one sentence to another we were suddenly a day later or a different place. Should have been chapter breaks or several lines breaking it up so you knew what was happening.
Welcome back to the boys from Maiden Voyage, Social Sinners, Masterson Records & Embracing the Fear! We find out much more about Jordan's life before he was a side character in Ely & Rhone's book. This is a fast paced book set over a period of six months or so, that follows on from the connections made at Rocktoberfest the year before.

David's Disaster has some of my favourite tropes - younger daddy/older boy, two great characters - both that we met in Rhone's Rebel and was heartbreaking and heartwarming in each turn... Jordan just stole my heart - and David's of course! More emotional than some of the other offerings in the Road to Roctoberfest 2022
It was also great to revisit the whole Embrace The Fear band and see how far they've come since the first book...
David and Jordan are good guys with a bit of a difference in age but who have similarities where it counts. They are for one another what each needs and wants. They just needed to learn to trust what they were building together and in the fact the feelings were not only real but lasting. Though their journey was not without its bumps they make it through!.

I loved David's Disaster: Embrace the Fear 2 by TL Travis. It's the second book in The Road to Rocktoberfest 2022. I loved Jordan and David's story. I loved getting to see them get together and become each other's forever love. I also loved seeing more of Maiden Voyage and Social Sinners, along with some new bands that will become part of the family.

Great story! The music, the food, the um, steamy times, all work together. I love how the band(s) are all portrayed as brothers, a family. There’s no competition, just music. Jordan’s backstory is tragic, even if too common in this world. Tony is just a monster! I’m glad Lyle was there to take him under his wing, and set him up with what he’d need to make it. Also that he took him to the shelter and taught him the importance of acceptance, giving back, and generosity. And David- talk about growing up! It took courage and determination to work on yourself the way he did. The fact that both he and Jordan looked inward and made decisions about their lives an the same time was perfect. They were both ready when they met again. Well, sort of. The changes they had made got them where they needed to be to move forward. Sweet book, with some metal thrown in for good measure!
David and Jordan are amazing characters and I loved the way the age gap played out in this one in combination with their relationship dynamic. They both have to learn to believe that what they are feeling is real and can be lasting not just a flash in the pan at Rocktoberfest. All the side characters/band members were great as well, distinct and well integrated into the story.
I really enjoyed this hurt/comfort story. David & Jordan had some very rocky parts in their story but, in the end they came through it all with a sweet HEA.
I love the bands in her books. I enjoyed this story and even teared up. While you don't have to read Rocktober books to enjoy but it helps if you read at least Rhones book I highly recommend Social Sinners and Maiden Voyage box sets.
The premise of the story and the characters were brilliant! I loved how the author made the age gap work in the story and how it shaped the dynamic between the MCs. Another hit from TL Travis for sure!
David's Disaster: Embrace the Fear is the second book in the 2022 The Road to Rocktoberfest. This is a wonderful May/December Daddy /Boy romance. Loved It.

As I have come to expect from this author, this book was full of heat and emotion. Loved the story, but always enjoy the 'extras'(song lyrics, author shout-outs, musical references...). Yet another hit by TL Travis!
This was another amazing rockstar book by TL Travis that I absolutely could not put down! I loved seeing our favorite guys from Social Sinners and Maiden Voyage. It's not necessary to read those series first, or even the first Embrace the Fear book, but I highly recommend them all.
Jordan & David's story is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I'm so in love with all these characters and love their antics and adventures, and can't wait for the next book!
