In the years since Ariel took the throne, Rudeus has been keeping busy carrying out missions for Orsted and even finding time to save an old friend from slave traders. Then a letter arrives from the Doldia Village, seeking his help with the Sacred Beast’s shocking disappearance! Can Rudeus explain his unintended dognapping? Or is he about to have yet another diplomatic incident on his hands?
At this point I’m just trying to finish this series
Rudeus acknowledging Aisha as a legitimate threat if she were to turn on him is interesting
Sylphie Roxy and even Eris are all just side characters in this book
And I never found the dodoria village that engaging so coming back to it wasn’t as interesting to me
Perugius taking no action and only remarking about Lara being a potential threat showed the author doesn’t know what to do with him at least for this book A taxi service indeed
Volume 18 is a bit of an intermezzo in the overall story of Rudeus. It shows their daily lives even if somewhat offset by the sudden arrival of a new "pet" in their household. It is mostly slice-of-life with light hearted comedic relieve which I personally liked, but it might not be for everybody since it lacks focus and some of it was a bit grinchy. I do think it would have been better if there had been a bit more focus on Rudeus' family members as opposed to Julie even if that is likely a bit of a setup for the next arc. All in all, an enjoyable read.
Another filler book. We get to see Rudeus day-to-day after the events in the Asuran kingdom, we see how the family is doing and adjusting to all the changes. A couple characters are back (not my favourite part but I figured we would not get rid of them soon) and nothing really happens. There is however a very cute and heartbreaking story towards the end about Julie. We learn more about her past and how she sees her life and I almost cried for her. The next volume seems far more interesting so we’ll see where the story goes.
dunno why people rail on this volume that much. It's nice content, learning more about Julie and the happenings of the Great Forest. I love Pursena too, so the addition to the family was pleasant to read. Sure, there was no high octane action, but sometimes you gotta cut back on it. Besides, the way Rifujin na Magonote wrote this volume was funny. First a diary entry, then like RPG prompts. good humor all around. looking forward to the next.

A necessary break after the insanity of the past 4 volumes, I love (almost) everything about this book, with the exception being how a certain duo of furry friends are written after an amazing exit previously. While not as episodic and "calm before the storm" as volume 13 is, it definitely allows any fan some reprieve before starting the final quarter of Mushoku Tensei, and allows all the insane developments some time to sit and breathe, which is necessary to achieve the emotional impact many moments going forward will have.
Lagi lagi karakter development Aisya yg jempolan, rudeus jalanin arahan orstred udah kaya bisnis. Look forward to next vol

I liked it, It was another slice of life book inbetween 2 arcs. I wouldnt say I was the biggest fan of Linia and Pursena coming back into the story the way they did because I thought there send off was really good and showed alot of character growth and there reintroduction kind of shit on that. Still it wasnt to big of a deal, I liked rudeus flexing on the slaver because I didnt realize he had motion like that. Overall a pretty nice casual read 7/10

Currently this is the latest officially translated volume. Well, I wish I could read this until the end without the interruption for the web novel already completed Long ago 🤣
I guess you could call this more of a filler volume. There is no major drama and no big battles. Yet I enjoy the world and characters of Mushoku Tensei so much that I don’t mind at all.
Was a little on the ‘meh’ side, especially when compared to the previous novels. Hopefully this is simply an exception to an otherwise wonderful series
WN - 3.25 on first read. This volume/arc felt too filler-like for me, but overall still the usual Mushoku Tensei fun. We got to see Pursena and Linia/Rinia again and they were both pretty fun. Also, a really intriguing cliffhanger ending, im looking forward to the upcoming arc, which will seem to focus on Zanoba (love that dude).
