Hey Loves! I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri (in the words of Nelly, “I’m from the Lou and I’m proud!) with incredible parents and two amazing older sisters. Born Stacey Renee, I was the baby of the bunch and always had a vivid imagination – was wise beyond my years (to grown for my own good) if you ask my mother!
My love for talking too much (ha!), journaling, daydreaming, reading & watching various genres of movies, books I went to journalism school, determined to become Oprah! After finishing my degree, I did everything but becoming a journalist. I dishonored my childhood dreams of being in some form of entertainment but found a way to use this big mouth for good in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space.
I rekindled my love for reading and writing during the 2020 pandemic where my alter ego & pen name, Robbi Renee was born. Robbi is my daddy’s nickname so my pen name pays homage to him. (Yep! I’m still a daddy’s girl!) Renee, as you can see is my middle name – Robbi Renee!
I started Love Notes by Robbi Renee as an outline to release all of the stories that live in my head. I was challenged to write and publish my first novella, French Kiss Christmas, published December 2020.
Robbi Renee draws upon personal experiences with life and love. My written works are inspired by my adoration for Black love, and stories of romance, heartache, trauma, intuition, and redemption.
Stacey/Robbi Renee enjoys her own Black family love story with her husband George and teenage son.
I was team Giselle from the moment she found out about Ahmad’s trash azz. She was on 10 and ready to wreck some shyt but, once Kayla talked her off the cliff, she just kind of let him make it. Her f*ch em’ girl energy fell completely off. That’s not to say she wasn’t hurt and heartbroken because, she was. But, Mr. Jameson “No Limit Soldier” Davenport was waiting in the wings to be a shoulder for Giselle to cry on. Jamison was not a there there kind of friend. He always kept it a buck and he never sugarcoated anything. I loved how Giselle was the only person who could help with his pain and help him get to sleep. That should’ve told them their relationship went deeper than just friendship. Giselle and Jameson were destined to be together. It only took some infidelity on Ahmad’s part for them to finally see the light. My only complaint is how long it took for Giselle and Ahmad to have a conversation about his cheating. When Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, or whatever her name was called herself trying to buck Giselle at that event, I just knew she was going to go home, call his up, and blast his azz. But, nope, she still didn’t say anything to Ahmad. Keep in mind, she found out about the cheating in chapter one. When the confrontation between Giselle and Ahmad finally happens in the last chapter of the book, it’s lackluster at best. I expected her to go completely awf but, their conversation was just lukewarm. She barely even brought up Mercury. Yeah, that whole scene was seriously disappointing. But, I digress. I loved A Beautiful Surprise. Giselle and Jameson were friends to lovers goals. I am so looking forward to reading about Justin, Jeremiah, and the rest of the Davenport clan.
I Love The Friends To Lovers Trope….Jameson & Giselle we’re best friends and had to go through a small bump in order to get it right….I love them together.
2nd Read was the newly released audiobook narrated by Wesleigh & Nate Strong
The only reason I’m not giving this book 4 stars is because Giselle didnt confront Ahmad until the end of the book … which was stupid to me. 🤷🏽♀️ but I love a good friends to lovers trope.
I forget how good of a storyteller RR was. This was a friends to lovers done to perfection. Jameson and Giselle's story captured my attention from the first page till the very last. I love their friendship and how Jameson always calling her niĝğa. That was his friend, friend. Once they crossed to lovers, their chemistry in the bedroom was 🔥🔥. Ahmad is trash and deserves everything he's gonna get. I just wished someone would've handled him more. Giselle needed to be shook a few times in the story with her indecisiveness. Like she was making no moves. But overall, I loved the story and the characters were equally lovable. I'm late to this, but I def recommend. 4.7⭐️
Jameson and Giselle, best friends turned lovers! I don't typically enjoy "friends to lovers" stories... However, the way this was written was perfect! Although Giselle proved irritating at times, I enjoyed the story line and how they came together!
The fact that Gilly’s “fiancé,” Ahmad, was the true definition of a clown 🤡 made it easy for her to focus more on and fall in love with Jameson. In the beginning I believed there was just enough thumping in this book for me. Looking back now, maybe there could have been a little more a** whipping & name taking going on! I don’t believe Mercury & Ahmad fully got what they deserved!
Anyway, I wanted more of them…! This was a very solid, good, quick story that I ENJOYED!
I liked the flow of the book and Ms. Renee’s writing style. However, I just couldn’t get past Giselle’s character. All she did was cry and whine the whole book. She was never happy. Then she allowed herself to be a doormat for Ahmad. So I had no respect for her. It was hard to read. She spent the majority of the book running away from Jameson. She gave him the business over Mercury instead of Ahmad. Make it make sense. Then her brother Jericho, threatened Jameson twice but didn’t say nothing to Ahmad who his sister was in a relationship with. Again make it make sense. I’m going to purchase one more book of hers but if the lead female character is not point that’s going to be a wrap for me.
This is the second book I have read by B. Love and I look forward to reading more of her work. Giselle was a bit irksome however this was still a very good quick story.
This read started out with Giselle on 10, after finding out some disturbing news about her fiance! What happened to that energy, when she just allowed him to play in her face, knowing what he was doing? Know your worth girl!! Ughhh....... Jameson! I loved his energy, and the way he was always there for Giselle! I thought it was adorable that Giselle was the only person who could help with his shoulder pain, and help him sleep! THAT should have been a clue to these two that there were deeper feelings there. Ahmad was just foul, stringing Giselle along the way he did, but Jameson had something for his ass! These friends were destined to be together, and it was only a matter of time before it happened. Ahmad's loss was Jameson's gain, and he plays for keeps! Enjoyed this one, and look forward to reading about the other Jameson siblings. 👍👍👍
I am pretty sure I read this story once before. The part with the car and the location I remembered, but strangely other parts of the story I did not recall. Anyway, Giselle and Jameson made me happy in this friends-to-lovers story. The series might be one to watch as the other Davenports tell their edition. And yes, this was a pleasant surprise.
4.5 ⭐️s. the spice was spicinnnnnnn 🌶️🥵 somebody gimme some milkkkkkk. this was so grown & sexy. the romance & chemistry between JD & miss gilly was electrifying. i needs more of them. i specifically recommend the audiobook, which was done as a duet by wesleigh siobhan & nate strong. when they got to panting & moaning back and forth doing da dialogue 🥵 chileee, i felt like i was interrupting some!!
3.5⭐️ 2.5🌶️ - Audio 🎧 Quick Review: I enjoy a friends to lovers trope and this one was a beautiful surprise. Jameson and Giselle were cute as friends and lovers.
It would’ve been a 4⭐️ for me but Giselle witnessed betrayal with her own eyes during the first couple of pages and still stayed with her fiancé Ahmad… I will say, this isn’t a story where cheating happens and the couple is still together and maybe working through things. No, they were in separate states for most of the time…but still. The woman he was cheating with had the nerve to approach Giselle and she still didn’t call their engagement off. They were still “together” in the public’s eyes. She could’ve let him go that night she caught him cheating and it wouldn’t have any effect on the story.

A good friends-to-lovers story. Jameson did not play about his best friend and I loved that. It reminds me of the film, Brown Sugar, with a little infidelity in the mix. I definitely would have appreciated Giselle confronting Ahmad a little harder though. Overall, it’s a good, spicy, and sweet happily ever after.
This book had me sick 😫. Well, actually, it's had my emotions everywhere! But Jameson 🥵 can get the business! Giselle definitely got her licked back as she should have . . . . Read.
Given that I loved Somebody's Wife by this author I thought this would be an easy 5 star and unfortunately it fell flat. Everyone in the book felt childish. I finished it more out of compulsion but not necessarily because I enjoyed it.
This was a cute friends to lovers book. Gis was getting on my nerves not figuring out what she wanted to do with her cheating ex…but I loved that JD didn’t let her off easy.
If you enjoy a good Friends to Lovers book; then you’ll definitely want to add this to your collection 💕
All I’ll say is, the MMC and FMC are besties who end up with their much anticipated HEA together 👩🏾❤️👨🏾What I enjoy most is even when they solidifed their relationship- they still talked to eachother like best friends (the author did a great job displaying their strong friendship). The FMC annoyed me a little bit (because she had a fiancé that she needed to kick to the curb, expeditiously), but overall both main characters were likable (that MMC was actually lovable- add him to the book bae pile, ladies😅).
This was my first book by this author and I loved it. I will be going back to look at the rest of her catalogue. Jameson was bae and BDE all in one. He did not play about his best friend Giselle and while it took her a minute to catch up, the love between the two was unmatched. They were so cute together and you could see the uncertainty Giselle faced with making that switch from friends to lovers even after realizing her fiancé was trash. But I’m glad Jameson and Giselle were able to work it out and be together and love each other best.
I love friends to lovers trope especially the way this author crafted this sexy yet intimate love story. I felt for Giselle and detested Ahmad for putting her through the pain and hurt. It almost cost Giselle the love of her life but the way Jameson put it on her caused me to swoon where I am sitting. Jameson issssss bae, BDE, protector, errrrythang! I want more but at the same time, the author owes me nothing. Well done!
When I saw this cover and the title, I knew I had to read the story. I kept scrolling saying I will go back and buy it. It took me two days of s scrolling to locate the post.
The best search I ever made.
This story had me so enthralled, I couldn't stop reading it. One of the best friend to lovers book I read. The friendship itself was to die for. So genuine. The drama that pursued had me wanting to put hands on some people. MAGNIFICENT!!
This is my first time reading a book by this author. But I was far from disappointed. I loved everything about this book. I certainly wasn't ready for it to end. Please give us more from Giselle and Jameson. Jameson is my new bae.
4.5⭐️ This friends to lovers story was soooo good! The FMC got on my nerves a lot in this. I was ready to tell the MMC to say F-it and move on. But I’m so glad she finally came to her senses. Jameson is bae ❤️
4⭐️: Giselle and Jameson . . . friends to lovers . . . just a beautiful surprise! Not gonna lie, Giselle not getting on Ahmad's behind earlier, letting him know she knows what's going on, got me in my feelings. LOL! But overall, great read!
This was indeed a beautiful surprise! I quite enjoyed this friends to lovers and I love all the twists and turns it took to get us to where we ended…I hope to see this couple again soon!
I listened to this book today. I enjoyed the best friends to lovers trope. It always cracks me up when everyone sees the connection with the best friends before they ever acknowledge it.
