Cursed To The Alpha

Rate this book
After the war between packs, Katya notices that her brother Andrei is spiraling out of control. Andrei had lost his entire pack and his Luna. Not knowing what else to do, Katya asks the Moon Goddess for a favor to save her brother. She asks for a second chance mate.

The Moon Goddess agrees and grants Katya's wish. Only there is a catch. If Andrei's second chance mate can't change him and he hasn't claimed her within a year, Katya must kill her only brother. Out hunting rogues, Andrei finds his second chance. Andrei couldn't believe his luck when he found Sage. Second chance mates have never been heard of.

However, he soon realizes that Sage is just as broken as he is. Sage spent years in the hands of monsters and now finds herself in Andrei's forsaken hands, which are just as tainted as those that kidnapped her.

Andrei is hellbent on claiming Sage while she is determined to escape the rogue killing Alpha.

Will Andrei redeem himself before the year ends, or will Katya be forced to kill him, so no more lives are lost?

Andrei and Sage are Great! But you really come to hate Ezra and Mateo

I LOVED the first book in the series. I even enjoyed (maybe not as much) the second book. I was disgruntled that they turned an adamantly straight guy, bisexual, (again don’t have an issue with bisexuality as long as it’s stated or in the story arc from the beginning - this was NOT! The Alpha clearly stated he was straight and even though he knew his best friend for years, and the guy had feelings for him, he never FELT that way. He was just straight ) just so the threesome would work between Ezra, Kat and Mateo. In my mind it wasn’t necessary to “change” Ezra in order to satisfy his best friend…and even Kat goes along with it. But again, I thought hey, I liked the 3 characters as they were, and Mateo was more of a best friend, and if he loved Kat it would be unrequited. The overall story did NOT need to turn Ezra from straight to bisexual, and well the bisexual nature of Ezra just came out in the end…it was absolutely random!!!

**SPOILERS£**

Cursed to the Alpha is Sierra and Andrei’s story (Andrei is Kat’s half brother) but honestly it seems more like a continuation of Kat, Ezra and Mateo’s story as well frankly I hated it. Not the Sierra and Andrei part, seeing them grow together was actually very nice. But the disintegration of Kat’s relationship with her mates really PO’ed me!!! Kat gave up EVERYTHING at the “end” of her story…she died for her mates…and now we have them during this book ACTIVELY WORKING AGAINST HER! And cheating on her!!! Yeah yeah it’s not cheating because the two guys are also mates and need sex, right *eye roll* but the stupid explanation of the fact that they keep sleeping with one another, sneaking around behind Kat’s back because she has post-Partum depression and isn’t up for sex lately is disgusting!! You’re telling me…this GODDESS BORN THREESOME can’t have its two male members wait until Kat is feeling better to F like rabbits?? I mean every scene we get from the guys perspective is a sexy super steamy scene…and then cuddling!! Leaving Kat alone, sleeping alone with the excuse of “she needs rest,” well they need rest too but that doesn’t stop them from going at it every chance they get!!

It further enrages me that the author makes it CLEAR that Kat knows what they’re doing, that they’re sleeping together WITHOUT HER, and frankly not even caring. She feels further betrayed which leads to the build up of anger she has toward the two of them from excluding her AND treating her like she’s insane and a ticking time bomb!!

I hated that Jessica hall could create two characters as lovely as Andrei and Sage, yes Andrei is actually quite lovely in this book. He waits months upon months upon months without doing anything with his mate but occasionally holding her hand…just to win her trust and love. It just shows how gross Ezra and Mateo have stooped that they can’t hold in their stupid “raging” sex need long enough for their mate THEIR QUEEN to process EVERYTHING that has happened to her in a span of like less than a freaking year!!!

It was as if Jessica Hall was building up Andrei and Sage’s relationship by tearing down Kat’s!!! Not to mention, it’s always Kat’s fault *sarcastic eye roll* her mates ALWAYS place the blame on her for their actions!! If she snaps, it’s Kat in one of her “moods” again…better go find my other lover to take my frustration off the fact that Kat snapped at me. Heck they call her the B word one too many times for my liking and understanding that these two werewolves are supposed to be HER LIFEMATES! In the first book, even halfway through the second book both men, even bisexual Mateo and straight Ezra announce and admit that even though they love one another they will always love Kat more, she’ll always come first, and SHE IS THE ONLY REASON THE TWO OF THEM ARE TOGETHER IN THE FIRST PLACE!! Without her in the picture, Mateo never would have made a move and Ezra would still be looking for his FEMALE mate. It was Kat that was the nucleus that brought them together. But in Cursed To The Alphas all you get is Mateo and Ezra’s CONSTANT harping on how depressed, or angry, or moody or not in the mood for sex, Kat is!!! She just had babies you pervs! Was told she died, hell did die, was resurrected, told she was a Goddess Queen, now ruling over pretty much all werewolves, and her once steadfast and loyal Alpha Mate, Ezra is suddenly too busy sleeping with his “new” lover to even try to get to the root of Kat’s “problems.”

It really was upsetting that I fell so in love with Kat and her Alpha in her first book only to lose ALL RESPECT FOR HIM IN THIS ONE! Same for Mateo. He went from being Kat’s best friend and beloved mate, to annoyed, man sex crazed only interested in one of his mates, kind of guy. Frankly after paying this much for these three books I’m rather disgusted. I want to read the conclusion of Andrei and Sage’s story but not at the expense of poor Kat (who really is getting the shaft in this book). The fact is, her own mates are not only “cheating” on her, but turning her own Pack against her, making her out to be “unstable” and unable to care for her own children, and when she tries she just gets yelled at our commanded by her stupid Alpha mates to put the babies down and step away!! Yeah, great way to have her bond! Command her away, or have a “babysitter” on her 24/7, following her around, way to show trust guys!!

So yes. I’m not purchasing the second installment of Andrei and Sage’s story because 1) more time is spent on Kat’s relationship falling apart than on Andrei & Sage 2) you really like Andrei and Sage but don’t get nearly enough of their personalities and characteristics in this book and 3) THE BIGGIE…what Ezra and Mateo are doing to Kat is Deplorable!!! Frankly if I was her I’d call on the Moon Goddess, tell her that she was “right when she tried to shove Mateo at Ezra when he was 14 - even if Ezra was straight, and get her a new mate/a new Alpha PRONTO! Frankly both Ezra and Mateo could beg until they’re blue in the face and I’d never love, trust, or respect their characters again. So that’s the end for me. Really sad the series had to send on such a down note!!!

So I actually think this is the third book. The second book is titled Fated to the Beta 🤔. But whatever order it comes in, this was my favorite. The storyline/plot was different from Kat and her mates story which I found intriguing. Daddy Dom! Oh man I cried when he died but cried even harder when he came back.

I read nearly 300 chapters on the GoodNovel app. I think I will have to wait to read her books on kindle. Cause no has money to spend on trying to read chapters you have to pay for. No issue in paying really but let’s me honest, by the time you done bought so many coins to continue reading one could have just bought some books.

So the sequel of fated to the Alpha that's about Kat's daughter Marabella, her twin brother Eziah, Jonah and Kyan. This was a whole other story than the first one, but still it kind of fits.
It felt predictable to me though and a lot less steamy which made room for the actual story. The storyline was actually different than others I've read. A lot more dark and it had a logical build up.
But the story felt long and in the end it was kind of rushed. It was like the writer was in a hurry to end it.
I believe there will come a story about Rose and Casen and one about Eziah and his tortured mate.

Cursed to the Alpha
Fated #3
By Jessica Hall
Narrated by Ryan Lee Dunlap, Shiloh Jame, Gunnar Qualen, Jenna St Claire

Jessica Hall continues her Fated series and this time I was invested in Andrei and Sage. Both had heartbreaking pasts, each with their own mate. Now given a totally unheard of second chance to find a mate, the two work slowly to find love. Or should I say, Andrei is working hard to win the trust of his new mate. Sage has had an extremely traumatic time, and having the least bit of contact with a man, let alone trust one with her heart is next to impossible. Andrei shows a side of himself that has not yet been seen, but continues his path of revenge which could end his relationship before it even begins. Kat, Andrei's sister has given birth, is having a difficult time adjusting, and this is affecting everything around her. The question is where does this leave her mates and the kids! Hall has captivated me once again, as these shifters are all about love and keeping their packs safe and happy. It's not over yet, and now I need to hear the rest of how it all ends up!Bring on book 4 so I know!

Ryan Lee Dunlap and Shiloh James are Andrei and Sage and they are amazing. Dunlap shows his versatility with the different faces of Andrei and each voice let me hear exactly how he felt. James is Sage, and her voice for this woman is spot on. Emotional, broken, and afraid, each feeling expressed to perfection. Add in Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St Claire reprising their roles as Ezra, Mateo and Kat, and it's a fantastic listen. These two keep the story flowing with a change in relationship and serious storyline. It's an amazing audio listen and is wonderful performance!

I’m sorry but this author is fraud! How can you call yourself an author when you stole the concept of the author who created The Vampire Diaries!
The Gemini Twin concept was first introduced in season 6 episode 8 goes into full detail of it and it is also the basis for the spin off series Legacies with Josie and Lizzy! Yeah I’ll bet she didn’t think that anyone would catch that part.
I love how on the novel apps she claims that she’s originally the creator of this concept and is always bashing others for their work being similar to hers but, she must have really missed the part she herself is unoriginal!
Makes you wonder who else’s ideas she stole!
I won’t be reading anything further from this person!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3,5) | 🌶️🌶️

I did miss Kat, Ezra and Mateo but this book wasn’t about them ofcourse. It just felt like a sudden switch when I was thrown into Sage’s and Andrei’s minds.

That said, I did enjoy the story, even if I didn’t fully trust Andrei. His past comments about women were still fresh in my mind, and they made it hard to see him differently, despite his change in mindset.

He did manage to prove himself somewhat, though. Hopefully, in the next book, he keeps that growth going and really earns it.

great read

This third instalment of the series shows the growth of the author the book starts and finishes well, not disjointed like the first two books which felt like maybe they were meant to be one book.
Nice to be introduced to new characters, yet still have the great dynamic of the original core characters.

great series

This is book 3 in the series. Technically could be read as a standalone, but you will enjoy and understand more if the books are read in order. The characters are well developed, the dialogue is believable, and the story is interesting. I’m invested and looking forward to where it goes next.

3.25⭐️ 🌶️🌶️

Although I feel the series started off stronger, this book switches to different main characters, and it just didn’t hold my interest as much as the first two did. It wasn’t bad, it was fine, but I’m also glad to be done it. At this point I’m unsure if I will continue with the rest of the series.

This book was different because it didn’t focus as much on Mateo, Ezra and Kat. Instead it focused more on a new couple to be, Andrei and Sage. It was interesting and I like the way the storyline is progressing.

This is the 3rd book. In the fated series. Story of Andrei and Sage. The book was good, lots of action, mystery more secrets, more fated mates destined yo help with redemption. The book ends in cliffhanger but every chapter was a page turner.

Merged review:

In this book Andrei meets Sage gets her to trust him, finds out some stuff in her past which makes him understand why she is so fearful of men. Katya understands more about her ancestry and curses in her family and the goddess is training her, more about her kids.
There is the introduction of a few rogue kids to the pack and Jonah.

broken souls finding each other

A healing journey with some extremely dark twisted pasts. Characters from first two books have some scenes from their point of view. Not as many editing mistakes in this book but was a slow moving/not super action packed, more of an emotional relationship and trust building book

Second chances

Woah! This was a very heartbreaking story. They still have a long way to go but at least they are going in the right direction, slowly but getting there.
Andrei has a long way to go, but it seems that his second chance mate is guiding him in the right direction. Let's just hope it stays that way.
