A book, true to its name. Consists of a series of seemingly unrelated short stories, which but, merge into one at the end. The overall plot is good, author has complete command over it and is clear on how and where to reach right from the beginning. The narration, had a little more care taken, could have been better, to avoid occasional lag and grammatical errors. The author's passion for riding, bikes and roads, is reflected explicitly in the book. Author also tries to open up the gentle, humane, responsible side of the biker community at large.

'Roads & Tales' is a unique collection of stories where the lives of individuals are closely associated with the Bikes & Riding. Although the stories seem to be different but one common thread connects them together. Their lives are bold & fearless towards the society's rules & set up.
Each character holds a dark past. Initially after reading 3-4 chapters I could sense a feeling of incompleteness in each story but the way Author managed to balance it with continuing in the proceeding chapters, it ignited curiosity.

I could have really admired this book if it was did not attack the sensitive topics with one sided opinions. Every person is brought up in different ways which results in difference of opinions, but one should only respect or ignore other's opinions/beliefs if they do not match with another but it is highly wrong to condemn in the name of broad mindset.
As much as I was interested in reading the stories, I was constantly disappointed with the vibes the characters carried.

I did not like how the Author switched the focus of the book from Riding/Journey/bikes towards Caste, Religion, Food Habits. It was a turn off to read & I was hesitant to pick this book to resume reading.
The messed up lives with incomplete perceptions took out joy of reading. I could sense hatred towards Vegetarians, Believers & people who follow the traditions with constant disrespect.
The way people are showcased in this book is half truth.
Overall I did not have a good experience reading this book.

This book ‘Roads & Tales’ is such an amazing read. It transported me into another world and the different lives of all the bike riders.
There are multiple stories entwined into one book of different people who have a passion for riding bikes. Some like the roads, some like beaches, some like mountains and a few just like riding miles away and experiencing the joy.
While I was reading this book, I could recall people (friends, colleagues, teachers, cousins and even others) who ride bikes. For once I felt like learning to ride a bike too just like my brother who wishes to ride a bike someday. Two-wheelers scare me! No doubt there but this book, the stories of different people for once made me forget my fears and just enjoy the feeling of what it might be like to ride a bike.
The author as mentioned at the starting of the book has written stories about people he met on his way. Their lives, their experiences and so much more. Not all endings are happy endings and also a family by choice can be such a beautiful family at times.
The last chapter of the book took my breath away. It was a summary of how their lives would be after this beautiful journey of a bike ride.
Every story found a way to touch my heart and teach me something. I would love to read this book once again sometime in the future if not too soon.
I recommend this book specifically to all bike lovers and bike riders.

Roads and Tales by Vazhipokkan is a collection of stories about travel and life. There are various stories almost related to traveling. Each story will touch your heart and make your heart smile.

The author has keenly explained how one enjoys rides and the way the author explains how every boy should know how the periods and everything that a girl goes through. The tale of Santosh and Zeenath touched me where Zeenath a minor girl and a forced sex worker touched my heart. Even Veer, Sammer, Isha, and others will touch your heart. The book contains multifarious tales and each story will teach you the right lesson. I'm fond of traveling and reading this increased my love.

These lines from the book have my whole heart "But read and understand people, there are a lot of men who have written for women. An actor can be a good human in real life but plays the role of a villain role troubling people. An actor can be full of shit in real life and act as a humble human on screen. But a writer cannot be fake according to me". This motivated me to start writing more. I'm sure you will turn out to be a bibliomaniac if you read this book.
The book is written soulfully.
And the characters are well developed.
The narrative style will keep you hooked till the end.
The language used is beginner friendly.
This is one of the best books I read till. I have become a fan of the author.

Roads and Tales by Vazhipokkan

Personally could relate to the book as I have on road trip an year back to Leh and Ladakh . My most dreamy place and after years of dreaming have hit on the road with the my man as an anniversary cum Honeymooon trip 🫣.

Roads are always a peaceful journey to hit up . When you are down with mood you ll be hitting the road just to relax 😇.

If you take ride for destination you ll meet various people , their kind of gesture , the way of thinking , u ll love the company with riders .

Book relates with story of various people how they became riders and everyone meets in a random place . How life made them to think about the riders . It has neutral riders which mean both men and women . Subramani who has resort stay for riders a fatherly figure and guides many people with his care. He offers free food for the riders who stay there and everyone enjoys his company that’s the beauty of the this person . Thanks for giving this book brother .

A must read one you ll enjoy the write up and quotes before each chapter .

The book Road & Tales by Vazhipokkan is a multi- tale book which tells the stories of varied personalities. A specific praise to the author for presenting his classic work to the world.
The tales are weaved on the lives of people, their surroundings and what they go through in this journey called life. They are not just tales rather the mirror of life because it gives the reader an understanding about life and how to live it. The events are potrayed as real situation filled with adventure and interesting personalities. The book gave me some absorbing moments, which allowed me to forget everything.
The tale of Santosh and Zeenath touched me where Zeenath a minor girl and a forced sex worker arrives at santosh' place for the service. But Santosh didn't treat her like a sex worker, instead he cared for her and felt like a father to Zeenath. He helped her in all possible way to make her life better and sound.
So ,the tales are not just meant for entertainment, rather they deliver some important life lessons.

All I can say is "what we go through is what we grow through" is the mantra of the book.

Powerful learnings beautifully encased with simple prose.
The book is wooven with varied characters and each characters life is intricately handled. Some parts of the book so warmly related to one's own experiences in life. There are a few social issues that the author has very purely displayed. I loved how in the end the story unfolds into something beautiful. I personally dive for happily every afters. A complete package of drama, suspence, romance & happiness. Life is a journey and the book shows the ups and downs and the hairpin bends on the roads pretty well. If you want to experience the thirll of riding and the beauty of meeting many different people on the road then this book is for you.

Being a traveller myself this book was a treat to me. The book is about different people and their life stories. This book has many stories and it has shown different perspectives of life. The book is about people who love riding bikes. As I always wanted to learn riding a bike because it's one of my dreams or wishes. I literally dream of riding a bike almost every night. So I could really connect to the stories. I know how it feels to be riding a bike without even actually doing it. So I have thoroughly enjoyed the book! The author has mentioned the people he met on his way. Every story taught me something. So the title is justified. Though the cover could be a bit more meaningful, overall I loved the book!

An enjoyable read it is. The more we walk outside our house, the more we learn. We walk through different phases of life, we learn what  goes through in another persons life, we learn how we should behave, and come forward in our social life. Through different stories that author had narrated in this book very simple, without dragging over any of them, he aims to convey some strong messages here.

The situation and the characters in them are portrayed nicely and built well. We see how different situations and actions of people are interlinked. Reading this book will make us think on our actions and behavior more. Will bring a change with us. It's a very refreshing read. I liked
it.

The storyline of this book is just amazing. This book challenges stereotypes. When we hear the word biker usually we imagine it to be a dude wearing a leather jacket who is rich and arrogant but this book tells us that there is more to being a biker. People irrespective of any age group, religion, gender, job etc can be a biker. The characters are well represented. The story has a fast pace. I finished the book in one sitting as i could not bear to put the book down (i was hooked). A good writing style along with a unique storyline . The book tells us about multiple people from different walks of life who happen to coincidentally meet each other while on the road.

Road tale is beautiful structured amazing tales from different facets of our life. This is a very well-executed book about the emotions of those characters. They will stay in our hearts for so long.

The tales will keep you engrossed till the ending. The characterization is the biggest strength of this book. We people can sometimes connect with these characters so easily as they are so realistic. This book is a wonderful essence of life and its journey.

An amazing read.
My favourite part is the character development and how every story is somehow well connected through the shared passion.
It takes you a on journey and brings out that traveller within.
Loved how the author has raised some social stigmas and tried to break the stereotypes keeping the softness of the journey alive.

This book is for all the travellers, the readers, the explorers.

A book on roads and bikes, I thought that the book will be more of men stuff. To my surprise the book talks more of women and their problems. It talks about a lot of social issues in a subtle way. The characters are too bold.
