Justice Corrupted: How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System

Rate this book
. . . with liberty and justice for some.

The left has corrupted the U.S. legal system. Wielding the law as a weapon, arrogant judges and lawless prosecutors are intimidating, silencing, and even imprisoning Americans who stand in the way of their radical agenda. Their "enemies list" even includes parents who dare to speak up for their children at school board meetings.

In this shocking new book, Senator Ted Cruz takes readers inside the justice system, showing how the wrong hands on the levers of power can strangle liberty, crush opposition, and wreck lives. The notion of a "Democratic" or "Republican" Department of Justice is outrageous. That institution should safeguard the Constitutional rights of all Americans. Justice Corrupted will equip patriots and lovers of liberty to hold their government accountable.

Throughout his life, Ted Cruz has proven to be a passionate and effective fighter for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution.

Ted’s calling to public service has been inspired by his firsthand observation of the pursuit of freedom and opportunity in America. Ted’s mother, Eleanor, was born in Delaware to an Irish and Italian working-class family. She became the first in her family to go to college, graduated from Rice University with a degree in mathematics, and became a pioneering computer programmer in the 1950s.

After being tortured and imprisoned in Cuba, Ted’s father, Rafael, fled to the United States to attend the University of Texas at Austin in 1957. He then started a small business in the oil and gas industry. Today, Ted’s father is a pastor in Dallas.

Growing up, his father would often say to him:

“When we faced oppression in Cuba, I had a place to flee to. If we lose our freedom here, where do we go?”

Ted has been a tireless fighter for liberty because his family knows what it is like to lose it.

As Solicitor General for the State of Texas and in private practice, Ted authored more than 80 U.S. Supreme Court briefs and argued 43 oral arguments, including nine before the U.S. Supreme Court. He also won an unprecedented series of landmark national victories that include his defense of U.S. sovereignty against the UN and the World Court in Medellin v. Texas, our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, the constitutionality of the Ten Commandments monument at the Texas State Capitol, and the words “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.

In the U.S. Senate, Ted has led the fight to repeal Obamacare, to secure the border, and to confirm Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. He has also led the fight to defend life, marriage, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, and our entire Bill of Rights. And most importantly, he’s kept his promise to speak the truth and do what he said he’d do.

Ted has proven to be the exact type of courageous conservative we need in the U.S. Senate to restore economic growth, defend our Constitution, and protect the values we all hold dear.

Ted, his wife Heidi, their two daughters Caroline and Catherine, and his entire family have been blessed to live the American Dream — the idea that anyone, through hard work and determination, can achieve anything. And he is committed to ensuring every family has that same opportunity.

So it's not simply a rotten system, it's a perfect system, that somehow got ”weaponized” along the way. And the solution is easy: just give more power over your life to the people in his gang.

I’ll say this for Ted, he never lets facts in get the way of his argument. Despite expecting an extremely, biased and self-serving book, I was still disappointed. I thought maybe I would see some legitimate arguments that would help me get a sense of the whole picture. Unfortunately, if there were any specks of wisdom to be found, they were well-buried under the BS and ridiculousness.

For quite some time now I have I have lost all faith in our justice system, and in our government in general. This book by Ted Cruz shows why my lack of faith is very well founded. Well written, well documented, and an interesting read, Cruz details how our legal system has been weaponized by the left for their political advantage. And it is not just the left who have done this. The book details the corruption of the Nixon administration with details of the Watergate fiasco. But Obama and now Biden have taken this corruption to a whole new level. From CRT, to the Russia Hoax, to Affirmative Action, to January 6 (both 2021 AND 2017), Cruz shows how our justice system is being weaponized for political purposes. It is vey scary, and hopefully we have not gone so far down this road that it can not be turned around. Time will tell.

Justice might be blind but the United States Department of Justice certainly is NOT!!!

Senator Ted Cruz loves the law and his passion is evident on every page of his new book. It begins with an heartbreaking retelling of the teenager from Louden County, VA. who was sexually assaulted by a trans boy/girl. Her father was victimized by the Biden D.O.J. when his attempt to seek justice for his daughter, in the midst of 250 other parents railing at a school board meeting over CRT and other practices, became heated. The truth behind his treatment is disgusting and scary.

In keeping with his passion for the law, Cruz shares the historical evolution of the Department of Justice which I found quite interesting. There are a few key events I don’t recall from my American history classes. It’s certainly not being presented in today’s revisionist history classes. Cruz has a good way of organizing information from big picture to micro details.

Most of the book is devoted the subtitle: “How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System”. Nixon, Obama - lots of Obama, Kennedy, Biden and let’s not forget the complicity of the D.O.J. and Media. A bunch of supporting characters join the cast.

Cruz provides a carefully documented group of corruption examples perpetrated at the highest levels inside our government’s judicial system. It’s bad enough that many of these events happen at the direction of our Commanders in Chief. For me, it was far worse to find the D.O.J. proceeding under its own direction, refusing to respond to Congress or the Senate or even the President. Our legal system has moved far beyond the bounds of “Justice Corrupted”. We have a chance to effect change on November 8th📚

I am a big Ted Cruz fan. I supported him in his run for the 2020 Presidency. He is intelligent and I agree with nearly all of his political opinions.

This is a well-written book that covers how the Biden administration has used the government to go after those that have disagreed with their political ideology. Biden is following in the steps of his mentor, Barak Obama. To be fair, Cruz discusses how Richard Nixon also used the government to go after his enemies.

Cruz covers all of the modern-day hot-button issues such as Critical Race Theory, unpunished crime in Democrat-run cities, the treatment of January 6 protesters in comparison to the Summer of Love protesters, and the misuse of affirmative action. Cruz gives you an inside look at all of these issues, plus more. He is upfront and blunt in his assessment of an issue and of a person.

I have always been amazed at how Cruz seems to keep calm and remain rational when his ideas and when he himself is attacked. He has this superpower that he is able to channel no matter who the attacker-Trump or a Left Wing Loon.

I think Ted Cruz would make a great President or a Supreme Court Justice. He turned down Trump's offer to be a Justice because I think he still has his eye on the Presidency. I am not sure if that is still a possibility but he would be a great choice.

This work is worthy of ten stars. The book is a masterpiece. And it will stand as a classic.

Senator Cruz has a full life of responsibilities, which I believe he conscientiously attends every day. As it happened, his duties have crashed into obstructions from many who seem to count themselves as “better” than the laws that govern the rest of us. I thank him for sharing his observations from “the arena.” He presents to the reader a careful documentation of the fraudulent acts, the manipulations, the obfuscation, and of course the deliberate lies told by many, many politicians, media “reporters,” government agency officers and bureaucrats, and the very Department of Justice whose single task is meant to be impartial administration of US Constitutional Law. The picture is not pretty. But I agree it is important for us to know, as astonishing as it is.

Actually, it is more than astonishing. It is evil. Several decades ago a Russian dissident named Vladimir Bukovsky wrote a book called Judgment in Moscow, in which he lamented that the fall of the Communist USSR had not been followed by an international trial on the order of the Nuremberg Trials after the defeat of the German Nazis. Mr. Bukovsky saw that the Communist murderers had not only not been punished, but they had been freed to secretly continue propaganda campaigns around the world on behalf of their sinister Marxist ideology. In addition to infiltration into African, Indian, Asian, South American, and European organizations and governments, the USA was targeted by way of its “educational” institutions. After several generations of what can only be described as indoctrination, the Marxists are reaping their rewards. The rest of us are suffering for it.

Senator Cruz cites a series of incidents of flouted justice in America since the time of Richard Nixon, but most of the cases documented here are of more recent vintage—and the quantity of legal abuses is increasing, even as way too much of it is either ignored or deliberately abetted by “news” media. Justice Corrupted is a crucially important book. I am confident that those who are perpetrating the spread of the lies and cover-ups will try to demean the author. But the exposure here speaks for itself. It hurts, but we must listen. “Houston, we have a problem.” And when influential members of the IRS, the FBI, and other behemoth federal (and some state) agencies (not to mention the huge executive administration of Democrat frauds) are causing—and leading—it, its seriousness is maximal.

I recommend this book to every American of voting age. (Spare innocent children, until they are able to independently think.)

If you believe that the ends justify the means, and all’s fair in defeating enemies, you’re going to hate Ted Cruz’s book. But you already knew that. It’s why you’ve probably called him every bad word you know, even though you’ve never met the man.

However, if equal protection under the law, all men are created equal, and innocent until proven guilty mean something to you, this book will engage, enrage, and empower you to rise up and make a change.

It’s no secret to those paying attention that the justice system is corrupt and political. Prosecutors go after political enemies while letting friends skate on obvious and egregious lawlessness. Where Cruz offers no context and opinions is in why this is so prevalent now.

The answer is simple: the demoralization is the purpose. “We can do it and you can’t” is the kink.

Are you awake, yet? Read this and you will be.

Sen. Cruz has written a great book, an easy to read insider's view, with a clear and simple message which should be no surprise to anyone; America's powerful governmental institutions are increasingly one-sidedly partisan (Leftist) and absolutely corrupt. From the secretive corruptions of the 30's and 60's (FDR, JFK, LBJ and Nixon) to the more openly blatant (brazen!) corruptions of today (Obama and Biden) the alphabet agencies and departments of the Executive Branch have lost all credibility, and yet continue to have all the power. This book goes a long way to educating US on this degenerate state of affairs, but obviously what we do about it is up to US...and the sooner that is the better!

As for this book, Cruz makes a convincing case that there is a lot wrong with our current system of justice, but that it isn't because of some amorphous made up thing like "systemic racism", but something inherent within the Left's (Marxist based) social justice agenda. Despite its many infuriating revelations it's an enjoyable (conversational, intimately personal) read, and sometimes even funny.

"So, according to the left, Critical Race Theory is a) an immensely important set of ideas that everyone should know - so important, in fact, that we should be handing out copies of the 1619 Project in every classroom in America, and simultaneously b) not real at all, so please move on. This dichotomy is so strange that whenever I speak seriously about this issue with someone on the left, I half-expect them to wave their hand over my face, look into my eyes, and proclaim, Obi-Wan Kenobi-style, that "these aren't the droids you're looking for." This book would be a good addition to a Civics class booklist. Ted Cruz writes in an easy to read, conversational style. He discusses how the government, the Executive Branch specifically, has used agencies for their private agendas, violating the public trust, and the Constitution. He does not attack one side of the political aisle, giving examples from both political parties. A student of history will recognize the events, but at times Senator Cruz shows different angles to the events. With the more current events he speaks about his part in speaking out against events and at times how they directly affected him. The details are footnoted, using a variety of sources. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in our government and politics.

Thank you so much Mr. Cruz for explaining how we got in such a bind in our country without even seeing what was happening. I guess anything is possible with so much hate influencing our education, judicial and political systems. I enjoyed your book and hope many more saddened people will find it.

Excellent read. The writing is direct and straight forward easily understood. I followed the events of Jan. 6 closely and Cruz revealed details I didn’t know. He includes his tax plan which I didn’t know previously, but makes me more supportive of any future presidential campaign of his. The only downside was the corruption Cruz explained got a little depressing after a while! 😎

Ted Cruz presents a scenario that is certainly plausible and provides facts and incidents to support it, but like everything in politics is heavily colored by his world view.

I think it is unlikely that many, if any, readers will pick up this book if they are as yet able to be convinced of the thesis presented. In other words, he is probably preaching to the choir.

In the first chapter, Cruz rightfully vilifies Richard Nixon for his misuse of government officials and agencies. Cruz even admits that Nixon is probably considered one of the most corrupt Presidents in history. Cruz shows a pattern of abuse of power that he will show continues and possibly expands in later administrations. This may be a good strategy to seem to be critical of a Republican before bringing up the current issues in Democratic administrations. But on the other hand when Cruz concludes the book with a plea to trust Republicans to make things right again and I couldn’t help but think “Nixon was a Republican”.

Most of the incidents cited by Cruz are well know to anyone who follows politics, especially those who listen to right leaning news sources like the Daily Wire. I think he is trying to contribute a synthesis of it all that shows just how corrupt things are.

He does show how many ways the Left has done the same things they are accusing Republicans of doing wrongly. Chapter 3 starts out with a perceptive reader wondering if Cruz’ reference to January 6 is misapplied. How can what occurred in the Congressional chambers on Jan 6, 2021 be in any way helpful to his argument? He takes a few pages before it becomes clear that this is Jan 6, 2017. Once the reader realizes this it reinforces one of the themes that the Democrats have recently done the same things they are vilifying Republicans for.

What he does not seem to do, nor have I seen anyone do, is paint a picture of just how Operation Crossfire and Mueller led to a development of Donald Trump that contributed to his eventual self-destruction. He gives the facts and describes the events, but he doesn’t seem to relate that to any possible psychological impact on Trump. Trump undergoes years of persecution probably greater even than that suffered by Nixon, at least if you take into account that Trump’s lasted so much longer. I can only speculate at what went on behind closed doors with Trump, but I can’t help but think that Trump took the persecution personally and frequently sought to strike back with those efforts becoming less and less rational resulting in everything between November 2020 and January 2021. We do know that Trump is a fighter.

Chapter 4 presents a straightforward case regarding Critical Race Theory and its consequences. For me, there is not much new. Chapter 5 is similar in regard to the destruction of law and order due in large part to unprecedented campaign contributions by George Soros and other in local DA races.

Chapter 6 begins the discussion of what many people believe was the stolen election of 2020. Cruz makes a strong case that technicalities were ignored in legal challenges. He goes on to discuss the challenges made on January 6 that even he admits had questionable legitimacy. Cruz presents details on how he and John Kennedy approached the problem which sounds laudable as described. (I begin to wonder to what extent the purpose of this book is to justify Cruz’ actions on January 6 which have received a lot of condemnation.)

But what Cruz totally fails to do is present evidence of fraud in 2020. He cites a Federal study from 2005 which concludes that mail-in ballots present a large potential for fraud, but he does nothing to show that it occurred in 2020. Certainly, if the potential is that strong, it seems likely there was some, but did it affect the outcome? Was it only in favor of one party? I have heard and read elsewhere of investigations concluding that it did not affect the outcome. Cruz mentions none of them. Despite being a subscriber to some Conservative news outlets, I have not seen anything definitive demonstrating a significant bias in any fraudulent results. And even William Barr concluded that the outcome was not stolen. Technical legal violations are certainly concerning especially for the future of our country, but I believe that this particular topic in this book tarnishes the book as a whole in the minds of those who are not already in the camp of those who believe the election was stolen. I think the optics of this argument appear to put Cruz in the camp of those who believe categorically that the election was stolen. I'm not sure he does, but this book leaves me wondering. I, myself, cannot make any firm conclusions on this subject, and therefore I want to see evidence. So far the evidence raises legitimate questions but does not confirm a stolen election.

Chapter 6 turns rather abruptly to the subject of Ray Epps and how much the FBI may be responsible for inciting illegal behavior. I think Cruz raises legitimate questions, but Epps has even testified that he worked for no one, and definitely not any law enforcement.

In the last chapter, Cruz documents the radical Left history of a couple of Biden’s top DOJ officials and how the DOJ is prosecuting states that have reformed election law. His thesis is that Democrats are opposed to honest elections and do everything in their power to tear down protections for election integrity. Examples he gives raise definite concerns.

Despite having followed many of the stories Cruz uses to raise the alarm, I find that after finishing the book I am more pessimistic than ever about injustice at the highest levels of government, especially with the current radical Leftist administration in charge.

Edit: I originally wrote the above late in October of 2022 immediately after concluding the book. Now in December of 2024, much has come to light that bears on some of my questions about evidence especially regarding the "stolen" election of 2020 and regarding J6ers. I still can't say I have seen proof that 2020 was stolen, but there are more questions than ever as there have been some stories about inconsistencies in 2020. I watched on X while there were a myriad of posts about those in PA this year and how this time they were quashed before they could affect the outcome. A few posters on X raised the question of 15 million or so votes for Biden in 2020 that vanished in 2024 for Harris. There were examples of voting machines having an official output for Harris after the voter entered Trump. I must remember that posts on X are often intentionally misleading (read->lies), but it is now far easier to believe in some serious fraud in 2020. As for the subject of J6ers, so many have been sentenced to prison despite a later SCOTUS ruling that prosecutors used a law that doesn't apply. There are numerous stories of those convicted being subjected to inhumane treatment and solitary confinement for extended periods. Today I saw a story of someone who hasn't been brought to trial after nearly 4 years in prison waiting for it, and much of it in solitary. (I must remember that in some cases defendants filed for delays while awaiting SCOTUS rulings, but why did they spend the time incarcerated?) It would be interesting to see what Cruz might say today about what he wrote 2 years ago. I would think he might be even more persuasive.

Senator Cruz does a lot to point out the politicization of the federal legal system (including the misuses of power by the executive branch), starting with Richard Nixon's ignominious and paranoid use of it. He points out many examples I was unaware of, including John and Bobby's involvement. Although he leans right, he does not imagine that the right is guiltless.
I disagree with some of Sen. Cruz's conservatism, but applaud his principled stand and recommend this book.

Justice Corrupted:
How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System

by Ted Cruz, pub. in 2022, about 200 pages.

BOOK BLURB: . . . with liberty and justice for some.

The left has corrupted the U.S. legal system. Wielding the law as a weapon, arrogant judges and lawless prosecutors are intimidating, silencing, and even imprisoning Americans who stand in the way of their radical agenda. Their "enemies list" even includes parents who dare to speak up for their children at school board meetings.

...Senator Ted Cruz takes readers inside the justice system, showing how the wrong hands on the levers of power can strangle liberty, crush opposition, and wreck lives.

The Preface
begins with the disturbing events of the 14 year old girl assaulted in the school restroom and the woke School Board who protected the rapist kid and covered up the crime. The boy was simply moved to a different school where he attacked another young girl. The dad, Scott Smith, naturally upset over the cover-up was arrested for being a nuisance at the school board meeting and was labeled a domestic terrorist. The Biden administration's corrupt DOJ had the FBI go after these angry parents and the mainstream media was complicit.

Also gives some of the history and historical importance of the DOJ, as well as corrupt presidents like Obama "who politicized and weaponized the Justice Department."

This is a very interesting book. It begins with a detailed look at the Nixon administration and how Nixon abused the power of the federal government to go after his political enemies. The general story is well known to most who follow politics, but I did learn some of the details that I had either forgotten or never knew.

What I found VERY surprising is that long before Nixon ever abused the power of the federal government, FDR, an icon of the left, was a master at doing this. When FDR was trying to get some of his New Deal legislation through Congress, there were Democrats who were not happy with his plans to significantly expand the size and scope of the federal government. Unable to persuade some of these Democrats to support his New Deal legislation, FDR pushed the DOJ and the IRS to go after his uncooperative fellow Democrats and under pressure, a number of them fell into line to avoid public embarrassment as well as the costs of a legal defense.

Later, Cruz gives examples of JFK behaving in a similar way. However, after the Watergate scandal, there was a period of time when politicians were a lot more wary of abusing the power of the DOJ and IRS to go after uncooperative politicians of their own and the opposing party. It didn't last very long.

By the time Obama became president, that reluctance had subsided and many of us remember Lois Lerner of the IRS targeting the Tea Party. She plead the fifth to numerous questions and retired with her full pension and benefits and faced no serious consequences other than embarrassment.

What REALLY surprised me was the story of Sen Bob Menendez of NJ who refused to support Obama’s Iran nuclear deal and found himself the target of criminal charges. Menendez refused to back down and support the Obama administration’s Iran nuclear deal. He is the son of Cuban refugees (like Ted Cruz) and was reluctant to support a deal which he felt helped a middle east dictatorship. According to Cruz, Obama wing man AG Eric Holder brought criminal charges against Menendez to pressure him. The charges were very weak and the trial subsequently resulted in a hung jury. The DOJ gave up the idea of re-prosecuting the case and Menendez still refused to support the Iran nuclear deal. .

I remember seeing the news reports of the charges against Sen Bob Menendez and being surprised that a Democrat senator in a blue state was being subjected to this kind of treatment. Now it all makes sense and I have a lot more respect for Sen Menendez.

Our legal system HAS been weaponized. There is no doubt about it. What I didn’t realize is that this has been going on for quite some time yet I was totally unaware of it. It’s hard to ignore this now because it is much more obvious than it ever was in the past.

Excellent and informative read.

I did read the past book by Ted Cruz about our Supreme Court and how important a single vote could be. I remember learning from that book. This book is very similar. I learned from it.
The book goes through examples of our government using the Department of Justice as a weapon against political rivals and against narratives that are not of the liking to the Executive branch. Ted starts with President Nixon, which I remember the whole Watergate adventure. But Ted focused on the last 20 years or so. Numerous cases and narratives that became cases. He spoke of the IRS being used as a weapon, and it still is. He spoke of the attacks on the Supreme Court, he spoke on voting laws and narratives to show “fear” into our population.

The book is really a public calling out of a bad practice of political retribution. We all need to be aware, we all need to speak our minds, we all need to be informed.
It was a good read.

Not only is Ted Cruz a joke of a politician, he's a joke of an author. His bit on Nixon was right on, but that was pretty much it. It's funny how he takes an element of truth and twists it into something that it isn't. It's amazing he accuses Biden of doing THE EXACT SAME THING that Trump has done, and yet he insists Trump hasn't. Lol. Hey, dumb@$$, why don't you ask Michael Cohen?? I'm truly surprised that Ted Cruz would defend Trump in his book after the lie Trump said about Cruz's dad (Lee Harvey Oswald associate)

Justice Corrupted is well written.

Sen. Cruz did a great job in writing this book without all of the legal mumbo-jumbo. I didn't need a dictionary at my side while reading it. Hopefully this is an initial step in getting back a country where the Constitution has real meaning, as written, and not as a living document.

Well presented; I was able to understand the issues. Presented chronologically. Helped me to understand more about the presidents from T R on to present; but ends before he could say much about Trump. Knowing now what happened before, makes it possible to understand Trumps problems with the left.
