"Home is a collection of all the beautiful things you fall in love with along the way," Tavon mentions in his newest collection, To Build a Home. This poetry collection is a pleasant reminder to appreciate everything you have because our precious life is a fragile one.
Hello the author here, I hope you enjoy this collection of poems as much as I enjoyed putting them together. These poems will help you reconnect with your inner child so you can figure the last versions of you. Also, these poems will help you see how beautiful true love is when you find the person meant for you.
I enjoyed this collection so much. These pieces were a whirlpool of emotions scattered over the pages, touching on topics that we can all find a way to tie to our own lives and situations. The position of the pieces throughout the collection was well done, showing a timeline of a journey and the growth from it. This is a poet I will keep my eyes on.
The very first poem really hit home for especially since all I ever wanted was to loved the way I love, it made me a little sad but that’s okay. These poems by one of my favorite authors, Michael Tavon, really helped me to let go and move but what really brought me peace from his writing the expressions through his writings, they are so deep and it’s comforting to know someone feels as deeply as I do. The lines “ I know when to go with the flow, I won’t burden my soul with the things out of my control” HIT me so hard because letting go is very difficult as I said. I love how grounded it made me feel. Overall it’s very good and I highly recommend it. Solid 100/10
The part that I enjoyed about the book, was Inner child poem. I try my best to do things for younger me. The things we dreamed of doing growing up that we weren’t able to do. Ik he’s happy with how far we’ve came. The places we will go. The friendships we have fostered over the years.
I loved this collection so much, so much love and bliss. So much growth and acceptance. Michael did it with such a beautiful perspective, as he always does. It’s worth the read and then some, you’ll finish feeling refreshed and inspired.
Michael Tavon has once again managed to create a work full of feeling, melancholy, a carousel of emotions and situations that represent a guide for those of us who have gotten lost on the journey back to our “home”.
From my point of view, the way in which the collection of poems is organized represents a process of introspection for the construction of a home, where you are the builder and the masterpiece at the same time.
Also, addressing topics like the past, relationships, breakups, friendship, mental health, and self-love feels like a comforting hug for all versions of a human being. It is an open invitation to sensitivity, empathy and self-care.
If I had to pick just one poem as my favorite, I probably wouldn't. My favorites include: Maze, especially when it mentions "I must remind myself - rest is revolutionary and sometimes, still is more than enough", Soft Explosion, Type Love, Shrinking, Home, Break From The Reality, Compassion and Healing is Uncomfortable.
To conclude, I want to thank the author for offering such an illuminating work in these difficult and chaotic times.
There are a lot of Poems that hit you hard and you will relate to on a very deep level. Never read poems in my life but I will start to check out more from this author.
I haven't read a poetry book in a while! This was a lot to take in for me since the book has a lot of topic and themes to begin with like about love, life and self.
