The Intern Diaries #4

Unstoppable Famine

Rate this book
Isis Black needs a vacation.

Between domestic disputes, vandalism, and breaking and entering cases, Isis is at her wit’s end. Running the only Haven for the supernatural community in North America may just drive her crazy. Although it has turned her into a volatile, short-tempered Intern with an attitude problem.

Working with the temperamental Famine is not making Isis’s life any easier, either. There’s a web of deception surrounding some certain animal attacks on the population, and time is running out to get to the bottom of it. Of course, Isis finds herself smack dab in the middle of the mess, which has become the story of her life anymore.

Will she be able to keep her temper in check long enough to find the answers in time?

Isis needs a vacation. She is working overtime helping Death and trying to keep Haven safe. It does not help that she is going to meet, the fourth Horseman, Famine, and she has nothing to wear to a party Constantine has thrown into the mix with her Godmother officiating the celebration. Isis also has a date with TJ, our silent type guy that runs the local BBQ joint. After the date goes bad, (we’re talking really bad), Isis calls on her team to help figure out what is going on with the Shifter community, who is behind it all, and what is causing it. Death puts in several appearances in this story, always well dressed, Haven is growing better than expected, and all our favorites are back.

Isis, Death, Constantine and the whole group are back for another new adventure. This time we will finally meet the horseman Famine. Animal attacks of the shifter kind are out of control. People are getting bitten and eaten. No one has a clue what is going on~ Bartholomew starts looking for patterns to see how they may be linked…supplements! Famine has made a batch of supplements that enhance muscles and people lose weight. Only thing is it turns shifters into cannibals with no control. Famine has no interns and her staff have turned on her. Now it is up to Isis and her team to stop the shifters, find the supplements, destroy them, make an antidote, survive the devil’s wrath, have a party, survive her godmother, and take all the perps down~ On top of their normal duties…should not be a problem from the gang! They will recruit new members to the team and make new allies. We have more laughter, snark, comraderies, and thickening plots that will keep you busy trying to keep up and figure things out! I LOVE this series and the characters involved~ Ms. Gomez’ sense of humor makes these books outstanding. You will not want to miss this latest episode!

The Reaper's save the day again! I just love this group of crazy heros although for them, it's just all in a day's work.

In this 4th book of the series, we meet Famine, the last of the Four Horseman. This is the one all of the other Horseman hate and avoid at all costs except Death, who seems to be motherly

That aside, Famine is very strange and you just don't know what they will do next. Life continues to be lived on the edge for Isis and her friends especially with this new horseman in their midst.

The whole Reapers crew just keeps growing and expanding as Texarkana is now a safe haven for all supernatural beings. Death's Reapers are in charge of keeping law and order among the new arrivals.

I have really enjoyed this series. I am sad that the next book is the last of this fun group of misfit heros.

This is a really good read for people who favor books about the supernatural world, with a definate PG rating and a very loveble group of misfits.

Awesomeness!

I am so in love with this book. I just read it in one go. I did not want to put it down. Isis is such an enjoyable character. We are finally introduced to famine and they sure make an impression. Let's just say he/she or they are a bit different from the other horsemen. This book delivers action from beginning to end. I must say I love the iteration of Death in this series. I was sick for many years waiting on a transplant and I came to accept death. I think that death is inevitable but can also be seen as comforting and peaceful. I had my transplant eventually but I still think of death as my friend. It us always near us. I like to imagine death is like the one in this series. Serious but compassionate. This was another excellent story in the Intern series. I am most certainly excitedly looking forward to getting the next book.

Another cracker of a great read in this 4th book in the brilliant Intern Series! More battles for Death's intern, Isis, & her loyal Reaper gang to fight & disasters to avert! Constantine, Bob, Bart & Shorty are in good form & some new characters help to join in the kickass fun & games. We meet another Horseman, Famine, as our intrepid problem-solvers get called in to help with a very dangerous drug situation that seems to be affecting lupines in the Texakana area. Brilliant, magical, action-packed adventures ensue, together with snort-worthy humour & plenty of feline finese! Will Isis ever get to go on her longed-for Hawaiian holiday after all?! Highly recommended series!

Unstoppable Famine by D.C. Gomez is another fabulous ass-kicking, action-packed, entertaining read. It has plenty of humor, paranormal stuff, chaos, and drama to keep readers, like me, hooked. D.C. Gomez writes a flawless book. How she manages to combine multiple genres into one epic book is a mystery to me. But it works so well! I am happy with this tale. Isis is my favorite character. She has so much to deal with and how she deals with it makes the book interesting. If you love Agatha Frost, Angie Fox, and Heather Graham this book is for you!

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

A well earned vacation, but, can Isis stay out of trouble? I'm sure there will be more excitement coming. Read on.

Isis and her crew meet the final horseman and work hard at saving the world...again. I enjoyed the non-stop action and sarcasm. The character building in this series is fantastic.
