Previously read this series individually, now packed into one complete book! No waiting, the next story is at your fingertips. Vi Summers captured my heart and allowed me to explore her world of New Zealand from the comfort of my home. I loved each and everyone of these characters. You will enjoy being part of the Crew!
Ride for Me - Book 1
A new to me author, Vi Summers turned out to be quite a surprise. A story of second chances, Gage has experienced great loss and sorrow and decides to stop wallowing in his life and move with his cousin to work in his Uncle's construction business. What he was not prepared for was the "crew" that his cousin Mace was part of and I do not mean his work crew. Mace and his friends shared a deep bond. They were there for each other through thick and thin. He was most taken by Mace's friend Lil and her fiery spirit. Lil had also suffered from loss of love and her self esteem took a blow as well. When she met Gage, she was not sure why but he set her nerves on fire. The two of them "danced around each other" until the draw was too much. They must face some trials in order to see where this attraction will lead them. I was drawn into the suspense and steam that woven through this story.

Break for Me - Book 2
Vi Summers has created another amazing story in this series of friends who are really just like a family and every time I crack open another book it's the same as coming home. I was so impressed with Gage and Lil, I was afraid the magic couldn't be captured again but Mace and Jess did not disappoint. When Mace first met Jess he knew there was something special about her and he began his "race to win her heart". Jess grew up on the "other side of town", the one most people tried to ignore. She held her head high and kept her nose clean and managed to put herself through school to become a physician. She also took care of her family when her parents did not but no one knew any of this because she kept her secrets and her struggles to herself. She was not willing to believe that anyone could take care of her so she let no one in. When she crossed paths with Mace again it was not for the most above board reasons and she was not proud of what she had to do. This story was so emotional and heart wrenching at times.

Lie for Me - Book 3
This brilliant series for Vi Summers manages to get better with each read and grow so much closer to my heart. Fun loving, laid back, and life of the party, Travis shares an amazing night with a fellow party goer on Halloween. Flash forward one year filled with the most amazing memory of the night he had with that mysterious woman painted to be a skeleton. In walks the most beautiful woman he has seen in some time and she is to become a fellow employee at the garage he works at. It turns out that "Dylan" is an extremely talented mechanic giving all the men in the shop a run for their money. She really knows her way around an engine. She is also the most mysterious person he has ever met but he has to get to know her. He is so drawn to her that he quickly invites her into his circle of friends, The North Shore Crew. Dylan is completely enthralled with Travis but she is so haunted by the secrets of her past that she has had to construct this wall around her heart. It can not be climbed and can not be broken down. If she were to let anyone in it would spell disaster and the end of everyone involved. You too will be drawn to this woman and want to help her fight her demons so that she can be free to love this man.

Fight for Me - Book 4
I have loved every minute of this series so far but have been patiently waiting for Nico. He was such an enigma to me. He possesses such quiet strength and a heart of gold. However he was so quiet and withdrawn at times that you didn't know what was going on inside his mind. Nico is the soldier of the group and "married to his military life". He knew that a relationship was out of the question because when he went on a mission or deployment he had to have his head in the game. When he went to get his hair cut, the new stylist, Brooklyn just blew him away, pulled him in like quick sand. Nico did not know what hit him. Brooklyn was also not in the market for a relationship so that went into this "agreement" to have fun until it was done. Unfortunately, there is no telling our hearts how to think and love. When Nico is called for deployment, the emotional and extremely angsty ride begins. There is no stopping the tears folks. My heart has been through it all in this book.

Burn for Me - Book 5
This series has captured my heart in so many ways. I was inspired to read book one when I found the lovely author Vi Summers and her sweet but angst filled story called to my heart. Each story and each character since that first one has ensnared my heart and I will always be grateful to her for taking me on this amazing ride.
In this FINAL book all the characters come together to share with us the story of Kimmie and Mickey. We could see them in each story and I knew their story would be worth the wait and also filled with heartache.
They have been connected since their youth. Something from their history seems to be holding them at arms length even though it's undeniably their fate to be together, like two of the most powerful magnets drawn together but at the very last second, pushed apart like the opposites ends of the poles.
Kimmie has reached her breaking point emotionally and has reached for the arms of another man.
Mickie has also found solace in the arms and legs of whomever he finds handy.
But the lives of these characters and that of the whole North Shore Crew are about to be upended and a new and exciting chapter is about to begin.
I highly recommend the tissues as this one will bring on tears of loss, laughter and love. Please start from the beginning to learn the history of the crew and also to enjoy the entire experience.

BOOK 1:

First off, this entire crew is absolutely amazing and I’m just going come out in say it now, but Mace is my favorite and I already want to claim him. Now, onto Mace’s cousin, Gage, and his best friend, Lil.

This book starts 4 months in the future so the prologue is a little confusion but it all makes sense as you read through the rest of the story. Thinking back to the prologue after finishing the book, it truly breaks my heart to know what happened.

I absolutely love Lil. As Mace puts it, she is hell on wheels. The girl is feisty and she gives as good as she gets. Though under that tough exterior she is broken, she has had her heart broken in a terrible way. She doesn’t give her heart easily or to just anyone. She is also a total badass, a fighter and stronger than she realizes. Gage is rough, rugged and has a total bad boy vibe, but he is also hiding his past, his heart break. He doesn’t want to be attracted with Lil, but he also can’t deny their chemistry.

This book had me on the edge of my seat and I may have yelled at my kindle telling those men to hurry up! You’ll understand exactly what I mean once you’ve read the story.

Gage and Lil are two people who have experienced loss and pain in the past and they found each other when they both needed it most and were able to mend their hearts and break down the walls they both built up for themselves. But will the past destroy everything they built?

This story was unexpected. It had laughs, it had steaminess, it had drama and it had unexpected suspense. There are twists and turns you may not necessarily suspect and that is what makes this story stand out.

BOOK 2:

MASON FREAKIN’ WESTBROOK!!!! This man is seriously SWOON WORTHY! Mace was first introduced in Break for Me and I was instantly in love with his character. I was waiting for his story and it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. It was SO MUCH more than I could have ever hoped for and there is so much more to Mace than I ever expected. I couldn’t get enough of this story!!

Mace and Jess are PERFECT for each other. There is an instant connection between the two of them and it is a connection like no other. Jess comes back into Mace’s life after he helps her sister and she leaves behind a necklace that means more than anything to her. Mace is rather persistent in getting Jess to spend time with him and to eventually go on a date with him. I love how seamlessly Jess fits in with the crew and how easily they embrace her.

Jess is broken. She has struggled her entire life. Like Mace, there is so much more to her than I could have expected. Mace just wants to help her. He wants to be there for her. He wants to knock down all the walls that she has built around herself. He would do anything to protect her, her sister and her niece. I mean THIS MAN RISKED HIS LIFE FOR HER!

I couldn’t put this book down! I loved every single moment of the story. It was sweet, it was suspenseful, it was steamy and it was emotional. I felt every single emotion while reading this book and I would read it again in a heartbeat. I This book and this series are a MUST READ!

BOOK 3:

Trav quickly moved into my second favorite member of the NSC, sorry not sorry Mace will always be my #1. I loved every single moment of this book, I couldn’t put it down.

Trav is the partier, the joker of the crew. He likes to have is fun. When he meets a skeleton while out celebrating, there is an instant attraction and this leads to one of the best nights of his life, however, he never see’s the girl again. Doesn’t know what she looks like or what her name is. Dylan Jackson just wants to blend in. She wants to live her life without fear and wants to be herself. When she starts working at the same shop as Trav there is an instant connection between the two of them. Trav may have met his match when it comes to Dylan but will they be able to make it through the secrets and lies?

I LOVED Dylan. She is sassy, snarky and not afraid to put Trav in his place when he needs it. She is a strong woman, despite being threatened. I loved Trav’s determination when it came to pursuing Dylan was great. He was intrigued by her and couldn’t stay away. I loved how easily and seamlessly Dylan fit in the with the crew. She is definitely a great fit with the bunch.

Lie for Me is full of suspense, angst, friendship, love and the craziness I’ve come to expect from the entire NSC. A MUST READ BOOK!

BOOK 4:

Nico has always been the mysterious one of the crew. There have been little bits and pieces of him in the previous books, but we still didn’t know a ton about him, other than he is in the army. I’ve been looking forward to his story, to learn more about this mysterious man.

Nico is army. He is getting ready to deploy again. A bad omen comes from his mother. He prepares himself and his friends. Brooklyn works at the camp, she cuts hair. Her brother always told her to stay away from the army boys, obviously she doesn’t listen because when Nico walks in everything changes.

I loved the chemistry between Nico and Brooklyn. They were instantly drawn to each other, they couldn’t stay away. However, Nico knew this could never last but a little time together is better than nothing. Nico is calm, controlled and Brooklyn is a feisty thing and isn’t afraid to speak up and stand up. I couldn’t get enough of these two. They both balanced each other.

I didn’t expect for this book to emotional destroy me and break my heart, though. Seriously, I knew a few pages in I was going to be ugly crying through a good chunk and I wasn’t wrong. My heart broke for Nico. His pain, his loss, everything he went through. My heart broke for Brooklyn because of what she went through with Nico, when she didn’t know what was going on. I may have also wanted to slap Nico and time or two in the beginning for being an idiot.

Fight For Me is an emotional military romance that will shatter your soul, but slowly piece it back together. A MUST READ!

BOOK 5:

Burn For Me is bittersweet. It is the final book of the North Shore Crew series and from the beginning I have been in love with this entire crew. Each person is different and has overcome their own personal battles to find the happiness they truly deserve. From the beginning, there has always been something between Mickey and Kimmie but we never knew the true story. Until now. Their story was everything I could have wanted and more. It was tragic, emotional, beautiful and truly perfect.

Kimmie and Mickey have been friends their entire lives. They have always had an on and off again relationship, though recently everything has been purely physical. There is still so much love and chemistry between them. There is also pain, heartbreak and some unresolved emotions from their past. They haven’t had an easy road, sometimes they haven’t even had each other to lean on for support along the way.

Mickey and Kimmie’s story is one I felt deep down in my bones. Their story touched me. It made me cry. It made me laugh. It made me want throw my kindle and knock some sense into Mickey at times. It made me frustrated with Kimmie at times. I felt so much while reading this story, but I loved every single moment of it.

Burn For Me is a MUST READ, along with the rest of the books in the North Shore Crew series.

All of the books in the North Shore Crew series are fantastic, all different- which I love- and all brilliantly written. This author uses very descriptive expressions and meaningful sentences to clearly build images of each scene. Both lead characters from each book tell the story from their own perspective, each character develops as the stories continue and as we get to know them better we understand why they act and react the way they do. Their brutal self honesty is very refreshing too.

Book one, Ride For Me, is a second chance at love story set in New Zealand. Both lead characters, Lily McMillan and Gage Westbrook, have emotional backgrounds however it is Gage who is truly, truly hurting and unprepared for love this time around. His thoughts sum it up...’I wasn’t meant to want, to crave, to feel ever again.’

In book two, Break For Me, Mace is such a loveable, interesting character. I was easily swayed over to #TeamMace then and ready to be lead cheerleader now! There is a healthy dose of humour with fun banter between characters where they are often having a go at one another in a friendly manner. This balances the more serious elements in the story which are slowly revealed and I have to say with a smoothness that is admirable.

In book three, Lie For Me, Travis O’Brian, or Trav as he prefers, and Dylan, aka Ainsley Jones, hit it off and feel an instant attraction but knowing that she has to be extremely careful she tries to keep her barriers up. Trav being who he is thinks nothing of trying to knock them down. They have a sizzling chemistry and you find yourself wanting them to get together and stay together.

Travis is such a fun, life of the party type of guy but with a heart of gold. He dances to the beat of his own drum but at the same time tunes in to his friends around him. He is reliable, even if he does do irresponsible stuff occasionally, he’s caring and supportive. I absolutely adore him. Dylan is a strong, sassy woman who can hold her own in the workplace but after the trauma she experienced life has certainly given her lemons. I love the way she doesn’t take any rubbish from Trav and is prepared to dish it out occasionally. I admire her character and in reality that’s a huge compliment to bestow.

In book four, Fight For Me, the story goes into quite a bit of detail about the life of an army solider, a special ops man at that too; exploring deployment in Afghanistan and the battle there was intriguing, suspenseful and extremely terrifying too. The insight into the possibilities of what can and has happened is enlightening but horrifying at the same time- the after effects too.

Neeks was the quieter one in the group that we didn’t know as much about, his character development in this book is fairly quick but it continues as the story unravels. I honestly love him. Okay, I can say that his tactics, while they may seem a bit strange, were understandable but I just felt for Brooklyn so much at those times. She was one feisty, strong woman who knew her own mind though and was honest—even with herself and I loved that about her. Actually, Brooklyn’s character is fabulous all round.

This series is outstanding and this fifth book, Break For Me, is another fantastic story making it a brilliant wrap up. The crew are such fun, so supportive and caring and no matter what happens they are there for each other, especially in the hardest of times. They don’t shy away from telling it like it is when it’s necessary, just as all good friends do. As you can tell, this author has created such likeable characters that they almost seem real.

I can now understand why Mickey and Kimmie didn’t get their story until the very end. Theirs is such a complicated and complex relationship that it needed everyone else sorted first. Without giving anything away I just want to say the little twists and turns in the plot make for an incredible ride and complete the circle from the beginning of book one.

I can’t recommend this collection of books enough, this series is one of the best I’ve ever read.

North Shore Crew Box Set is a beautiful compilation of Vi Summers’s previously released books that are each about different couples with unique love stories that are entwined with difficult circumstances. Each couple in their own story faces with certain hardships due to their personal baggage and weaknesses that test their love. They never give up on each other and finally find their peace in their significant others. In addition, all couples are friends with the others and their friendship and support for each other is envy-worthy.

Even though there are lots of funny moments full of banter in most of the stories, two of them are a bit more intense and heartbreaking at times that may cause a few tears. Overall, if you are in need of swoon-worthy love stories with happily ever afters, North Shore Crew could be the answer to your prayers.

I reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Oh Em Gee!!!

Wow, what a ride! From Gage and Lil, Mace and Jess, Trav and Ainsley, Niko and Brooklyn to Mickey and Lil Kim. Each book revolved around a couple and how their relationship began, the countless adversity they had to overcome to finally realise that they were meant to be together. Each story was unique and breathtaking.
I loved their naturalness, the friendly banter, and I felt like part of the North Shore Crew too.
Hot, spicy, romantic, suspenseful, everything and more. Highly recommend.

Way too many loose ends

As the title days, there are way too many loose ends and unexplained issues. Also, the level of violence in the first two books was way out of line... not to mention there seemed to be no reason for it. In general, all the books are very angst-y and the reasons not reasonable for the levels of suffering. The endings may have the protagonists ending up happy but, due to all the unanswered questions, didn't make for particularly satisfying reads.

Unexpected Drama & Comedy

This series was slow getting into but once you get part way into the first book it picks up speed.

It also picks up unexpected drama and comedy when you least expect it.

Loved all the characters. Well developed and each had their own trials to get to their HEA.

Will be looking for more from Vi.

Loved this series! I am so sad to be finished reading. The crew are my kind of people! Realistic kiwi guys and gals each with their own love story to tell. Trav would be my favourite! I loved his trady humour, sounds like such a laugh!!! All the characters were very witty and had a good laugh along the way. Would recommend for an easy, saucy, romance read.

This box set is a definite must read.
Each book is about a different couple and different circumstances.

What an incredible series! Every couple has something dangerous and/or suspenseful that was heart-stopping. There's so much love between the couple's, as well as the friends, the crew. I love the amount of detail, making these in-depth, interesting, involved stories hard to put down.

Great group of lifelong friends

I enjoyed each of the stories. Each one had something secret in their history, and they helped each other under the most difficult times in their lives. Each story has heartbreaking points that will have you wanting to read more.

Great series

The characters were so real and the connection they had with each other was lovely. It was gritty in places but that kept it real you could believe everything they went through

Loved, loved, loved this series. I cried a lot in the last book but it turned out perfectly. One of the best series I’ve read in a while. Loved the crew.
