North Africa is now under Allied control. General Eisenhower has been ordered to invade Sicily with the British Eighth Army and General Patton’s new Seventh Army. But where do the Allies go from here? The Americans want to head directly to northern France while the British desire a Mediterranean strategy. In the Pacific, Australian and American forces continue to drive deeper into New Guinea, while Admiral Halsey pushes further up the Solomons from Guadalcanal. The American war machine grows stronger each day but developing war-winning capabilities take time. The Science Team continues to develop solutions to lingering logistics and scientific problems. Soon, a new sinister enemy weapon will make itself known and serve as a warning of things to come.
This service is a must read for any WW-II buffs. It educates, entertains and opens all new lines of interest to even the most studied followers of history. At the end of VI you are sorry to see it go, and J.E. must have realized that, because VII is coming. Professor Brand and his band of experts and heroes will, I am certain, take us to Normandy and beyond. Super series, amazing author, researcher and teacher. This is how history should be taught.
This series is probably one of the most well written I have ever followed. J. Eugene Porter expertly interlaces facts that lead the reader to believe they are reading non-fiction. The characters are so likeable or some so detested that you cheer, get angry and sometimes get a lump in your throat. I honestly look forward to the next installment of the Science Team. Thanks Mr. Porter for another truly outstanding read.
Novel portrayed historical happening a novice war follower probably weren't aware of. This was a very important historical period and it is nice to have it set forth.
A well-written series of books, but I cannot like them. The protagonist has an amazing genius for many things, but he's essentially a simpleton who cannot be let out unsupervised, and he's possessed of an annoying purity and goodness. You get the feeling that the man was born without an asshole, and that he and his wife shake hands goodnight, before retiring to their twin beds. This series is neither history nor alternate history, and it depends far too much on annoying tropes, a pasteboard villain and coincidence. I am rooting for the villain, who's the only honest character in the books
