Besides my family, my greatest love in life is books. Reading them, writing them, holding them, smelling them…well, you get the idea. I’ve always loved to read, and some of my earliest childhood memories are me, tucked away in my room, lost in a good book. I received a five dollar allowance each week, and I always — always — spent it on books. My love affair with writing started early, but it mostly involved journaling and writing silly poems. Several years ago, I didn’t have a book to read so I decided on a whim to write my own story, something I’d like to read. It turned out to be harder than I thought, but from that point on I was hooked. My first and second books were released by Sarah Book Publishing: This Is Not About Love and Grayson’s Ridge. I’m a total genre-hopper. Basically, I like to write what I like to read: a little bit of everything! I reside in Floyds Knobs, Indiana with my husband, three children, and massive collection of books. I have a degree in psychology and worked as a counselor.

Bob Dylan couldn’t be so right! I like New Orleans better, too!

Carissa Ann Lynch is amazing author who creates claustrophobic whodunnits, fast pacing, mind blowing mysteries! Her works are easy to read in one sitting! She never makes you disappointed! This book has another exemplary plot line hooking you from the first page! While you bite your nails, flipping the pages, fidgeting nervously, you feel like glued to your seat! You cannot stop reading!

Let’s take a look at the plot line:

Who can resist celebrating bachelor party for a few days with friends in an authentic Greek Revival in the Garden District in New Orleans? You’re gonna spend time at a dreamy, historical, exotic, polished mansion including spa, make up treatments, traditional spicy New Orleans food!

Well, I personally say this is my kind of party!
Unfortunately soon to be bride Rosalee has her second thoughts.

Firstly her monster in laws Elizabeth doesn’t approve her to marry with her son. She likes Georgia who is best friend of Asher ( groom) and she is scheming to stop wedding by using Georgia to convince her son.

Sister in law Bri is also rude , acting pretentious, judgmental around her. But she’s dealing with her inner demons by numbing her brain cells with more antidepressants and extra booze!

Her estranged cousin Tinsley acts weird, resentful. She is so close to punch Roselee’s best friend Mara in the face!

And Mara acting bossy bitch, making sneaky, harsh comments about in laws to protect Roselle from their toxic attitudes. But she’s not a Saint! She’s hiding her own financial issues by forcing Trish to pay everything about the party.

And let’s not forget sixth contender: Georgia- the best friend of groom! She’s way too much gorgeous to stay as friends with the groom. Could she have an affair with him?

Rosalee has her own secret about her past and she is worried Asher will have second thoughts to marry her if they come out! But she’s not the only one she keeps things to herself! Each woman are lying about something and eventually those lies will kill one of them!

And let’s forget Delfina- the help who gives creepy vibes, appears out of nowhere, whose dedication to eerie history of mansion force her take things too far!

Who died at the bachelor party? Who is the perpetrator?

Well: it was fast, entertaining reading with a smart twist at the end. Earning my 4 intelligent, whodunnit, devouring in one sitting stars!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

**3.5-stars rounded up**

Rosalee is excited about her future marriage to Asher, but she's not necessarily looking forward to her bachelorette party, a destination event including her frigid future mother-in-law and bitchy sister-in-law.

Oh, and let's not forget the inclusion of the groom's super hot, yoga instructor childhood best friend, Georgia.

Alas, it's tradition and Rosalee's best friend, Mara, as well as her slightly estranged cousin, Tinsley, have put a lot of time and effort into planning this weekend long event.

They've rented a beautiful, Greek revival mansion in the Garden District of New Orleans for the occasion and it seems no expense was spared.

Unfortunately, what starts out as a mostly well-intended weekend in celebration of the future bride ends in murder and mayhem. Who did it and why?

Y'all, I really enjoyed this. I especially appreciated the way Lynch formatted the mystery. It was unique and a lot of fun!

Basically, it starts with a crime scene. You know someone is dead, but you don't know who. You really aren't given that much information at that point.

Then you get alternating chapters following each of the attendees of the bachelorette party: Rosalee, the bride, Elizabeth, the mother-in-law, Bri, the sister-in-law, Mara, the bride's best friend, Georgia, the groom's best friend and Tinsley, the cousin.

This may seem like a lot, but it is done in such a way that flows seamlessly. Each of the characters is very distinct, with their own opinions, motivations and grudges.

This portion of the story will take you through traveling to NOLA, all the way through to the night of the murder. Curtain closes.

The narrative picks up again as police interrogations of those involved begin. The header of each chapter doesn't even tell you who the interview is with, so you figure that out as you go along.

I loved that, because you only figure out through the process of elimination, who the victim is. It was really fun. Then you get a few crime scene chapters with the police investigating the crime, filling in missing pieces along the way.

I think I may have actually been more enamored with the way the story was told than with the actual story itself. I'm sort of joking, but yeah, I was impressed with Lynch's choices for how she laid this one out.

I had a lot of fun with this. I loved all the drama going on behind the scenes of what should have been a really good weekend. It was interesting to watch the dynamics among the characters change as the weekend progressed as well.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a light, fun, drama-filled whodunit. This would make a great weekend read, or a book to bring with you while you travel.

Thank you so much to the publisher, One More Chapter, for providing me with a copy to read and review. I am looking forward to reading more from Carissa Ann Lynch!

3.5⭐
Genre ~ domestic fiction
Setting ~ New Orleans
Publication date ~ September 2, 2022
Publisher ~ Harper Collins ~ One More Chapter
Est Page Count ~ 304 (p+ 34 chapters)
Audio length ~ 6 hours 8 minutes
Narrator ~ Rebecca LaChance
POV ~ multiple (6) 1st + the detective in the 3rd
Featuring ~ 3 parts, secrets galore

The awful cast of characters that you wouldn’t mind if any of them turned up dead is as follows:

Rosalee ~ the bride to be
Elizabeth ~ the mother in law
Mara ~ the best friend
Tinsley ~ the cousin
Georgia ~ the groom's friend
Bri ~ the sister in law

Right off the bat we know one of these ladies is dead. If you didn't see the cover verbiage you'll find out in the prologue. Takes quite a bit to learn who it is, but I was super happy with who it turned out to be.

I liked the location of an old estate in New Orleans that gives off super creepy vibes. I’d love to nose around all of the nooks and crannies.

Overall, it was full of drama, secrets and cattiness up the yang with quite the eye catching cover!

Narration notes:
I did not listen to this one, but am just giving the above info for reference. I have a feeling I would've been mad there was only one, so best I didn't listen.

Here's a fun fact about my Bachelorette Party ~ I might have drank a wee bit too much and almost didn't make it to my rehearsal the next day because I was so sick 🫣

✔️ed an old paperback ARC off the list.

My thanks to Harper Collins U.K., Carissa Ann Lynch and Netgalley.
This story had the misfortune to come to me after another book, that was very much identical to this one. Still, I thought that with another author, I'd probably get a new take on this.
Yep. New take it was. Good take? No.
From the start I had a feeling that this would go off the rails. Not in a good way.
I'm not going to say this was horrible.
I was the damn fool who kept reading.
About the half way mark, I freaking realised that I had wasted my time reading this garbage. The writing somehow became simplistic.
The ending? What the huh?

This was a fun and super fast myster.thriller. It cycles through the perspectives of all of the characters which I love because it lets the reader collect all of the pieces and put them together like a puzzle. From the start it was clear this bachelorette party was going to be a bit of a nightmare.. The bride to be only really likes two of the invitees and two of the guests appear to actively dislike the bride to be. Rosalee, the bride to be, is a very sweet, if not more than a little naive, woman who has invited her best friend from college Mara, her cousin who is more like a sister Tinsley, her soon to be sister in law Bri who drinks too much, her soon to be mother in law Elizabeth who doesn’t think Rosalee is good enough, and Georgia who is her fiancée’s best friend (and the woman her mother in law wishes her son had chosen). IT’s a recipe for disaster and it doesn’t disappoint. Full of drama and eventually a murder this is one party no one will ever forget.

New Orleans: live music, endless drinks, brightly- coloured attractions, the perfect place for a party....

The bride-to-be - The best friend - The cousin - The mother-in-law - The sister - The grooms friend.

The bachelorette party begins on a Friday night; all six women are excited for a chance to escape their everyday lives. But then friendly rivalries turn vicious, and a game of truth or dare turns deadly.

Everyone has secrets and resentments. No one likes or trusts anyone at the party. The story is told from the six people attending the bachelorette party's perspectives. Each chapter is headed with a name and their relationship to the bride. I did not want to put this fast paced read down. A game of truth or dare turns deadly, by the end of the weekend, one of them will be dead. The final twist, I never saw coming. This well written story held my attention throughout.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #HarperCollinsUK #OneMoreChapter and the author #CarissaAnnLynch for my ARC of #TheBacheloretteParty in exchange for an honest review.

This book was fun, entertaining, and not a bad way to pass a few hours. Told in alternating POVs you get to see each characters role in the bachelorette weekend. It had plenty of drama and pretty short chapters. I gave this one 2.5 stars because even though I it was entertaining it was for the most part just like every other bachelorette party/ murder book I’ve read. It could have been a Lifetime movie and when it’s over you’d turn the t.v. off probably never thinking about it again.

The Bachelorette Party is available September 2,2022.

A fun and fast read!

A woman is marrying the man of her dreams but first she has to survive the bachelorette party, which is being held in a fancy estate in New Orleans. Probably some plantation that white chicks like to hang out at.

There are 6 ladies attending. The bride, her bestie, her cousin, her haughty mother-in-law to be + her daughter, and finally, drumroll please.. her future hubby's best friend, a girl and of course she's hot.

If that sounds like a lot of people, that's because it is. This was great and the author made it work but there were way too many narrators. All 6 of them! Then in Part 2, we get the investigator! I will say that it was labeled well at the start of each chapter. For example, "Elizabeth, the mother-in-law," otherwise I would have been lost.

The narrator was great too. She did so many voices that I thought there were several people but as far as I know there was just the one.

3 1/2 Stars. This was a fast paced, fun, bachelorette party, whodunnit! Although filled with many unlikeable characters, it held my interest till the conclusion. I did expect it to be a bit longer, but, it was not too heavy, and I flew through the pages. I'd definitely be interested in reading more from this author, as this was my first book of Carissa Ann Lynch!

New Orleans is a place of mystery, magic and mischief.
That's why it's the perfect place for a bachelorette party. But what is a trip to New Orleans without murder and mayhem? That's why they just had to stay in the Leblanc-Landry estate where, many years ago, the owner killed his wife and children in a fit of rage. Six friends entered, but not of them will leave. Before the weekend is over, one of the friends will be absorbed into the walls of the estate's dark past.

I'm a huge fan of Carissa Ann Lynch. She's a must-read author for me. This story, however, was disappointing. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I was expecting a haunting Southern Gothic novel. New Orleans was a big draw, but the setting was underutilized. The magic of the city wasn't captured. Likewise, the dark history of the Leblanc-Landry estate wasn't fleshed out enough. The murders were briefly talked about and then dismissed. I was hoping that would have been a more integral part of the story because it was the best part of the story.

I did enjoy the characters. The progressive build up of tension within the group was fun. The secrets they all carried were entertaining. But -the thing is- the murder victim was super easy to figure out. In order for the murderer to not be obvious, the plot and motive did get kind of convoluted. But my real problem with the characterization was how it completely flipped script in Part 2. None of their personality traits seemed to align well with their characterization from Part 1.

This book had so much potential, but it suffered from being too short. Unfortunately, the setting, motives and characterization suffered for it as they lacked depth. I liked it but I don't love it. It was an easy, quick read but I would have preferred 100 more pages.
It's still a good and well-written story. But I would suggest starting with another one of Carissa Ann Lynch's book before this one.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a quick read, though almost too quick to give me the information I wanted regarding who was murdered and why. It centers in a bachelorette party in New Orleans; Rosalee is getting married and her best friend, cousin, future mother and sister in law, and her husband’s female best friend are in attendance. You know immediately that someone dies but the first half of the book takes you to the lead-up and the 2nd half through the investigation.

The book is short, and while you do get some info around the dynamics between the women and the secrets they were keeping, I would’ve liked even more in this area to help lead up to what eventually happens. That being said, the lack of this background data means that the book moves quickly and that there is always something happening- I think I finished it in probably 3.5 hours. I’ve seen others say that all the characters were unlikable but I didn’t feel that way- some were but the dynamics between them seemed realistic to me.

Overall, super fast read with a good twist that definitely left me trying to figure out what happened before it was revealed. While it was more surface level than truly character driven, I enjoyed it. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sometimes I’m sorry I didn’t read more reviews of this book before requesting it. It sounds not bad, a party with six women:
The bride-to-be Rosalee > who is very shy and uncertain
The best friend Mara > who is not such a good friend after all
The cousin Tinsley > who doesn’t voice her anger until it’s too late
The mother-in-law Elizabeth > who is old, rich and very snobbish
The sister.in law Bri > who hides many things
The groom’s friend Georgia > who hides even more
Actually, they are all hiding many things from each other… In between all the hiding they are all on horribly bad behaviour… Mara organised a very expensive hotel for them to stay in, and ordered so much food and drink that reading about it alone made my stomach churn… All they do is secretly trying to unveil each other’s secrets, and in the mean time they drink, drink and drink…
The characters, after a while, all blur together into one nasty person… I love a good story about a horrible mother-in-law (not that I ever had one!) and a party that’s not being a party at all, but this is way overdone…
About the writing style: after five pages I began to feel a slight irritation about the use of three full stops at the end of a sentence and it kept irritation me throughout the book.
So, this author just isn’t for me, unfortunately.

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins for this digital review copy.

Decent story that kept me turning the pages. Overall, I enjoyed this story.

The author uses many POVs. Often, readers may find this to be overwhelming. In this case, the multiple POVs enhanced the read.

A quick read, nothing fancy, still entertaining!

This story follows Rosalee (bride to be) Elizabeth (her soon to be monster, I mean mother, in law) Bri (sister in law) Mara (best friend) Georgia (grooms best friend) and Tinsley (cousin), as they spend a bachelorette weekend together. Let me start by saying, this group of characters are all supremely unlikable. The opening prologue of the book reveals one of them dies on the trip, but none of these women are decent enough people to care who it is. The synopsis given makes it sound like there’s a super tense game of truth or dare, which honestly takes place for two pages in one chapter. Not worth describing the whole book around. I gave this 3 stars because it wasn’t horrible, but it was just okay. There’s nothing about it that would make me recommend it over other, better reads, but it wasn’t the worst story I’ve read. Overall it was just nothing special or shocking.

Thank you to the publisher for the gifted ARC.

This book starts with a murder and a detective, trying to figure out who did it among this group of women there for a bachelorette party. A group of mostly unlikeable characters, with secrets in their past. We don't find out who dies until more towards the end of the book. The detective was the only character I was interested in and she didn't appear in most of the most. This theme has been done over and over again and this didn't have anything particularly interesting to add to it

“i am proud of my daughter, even if she doesn’t choose to live her life the way I expected her to.”

a bachelorette party that starts with six women but ultimately ends with five. can the detective get to the bottom of the murder that took place in the eerie mansion these women were partying at? or will the mystery remain just that - a mystery to never be solved?

pretty fast paced, mostly likeable characters. plot twist was okay but i called it pretty early on. definitely recommend if you’re looking for a somewhat cozy somewhat thrilling murder mystery book 🩷

The Bachelorette Party will hook you from the first page and will never disappoint! What should have been a wonderful weekend party, turns into a weekend from hell with a dead body added to the mix. The animosity the group feels towards each other is palpable. The reasons, unknown. And when the secrets are exposed well, the explosions can be heard all around New Orleans! But who is killed and why is frustratingly saved for the reader until the jaw dropping ending!

Rosalee is marrying Asher Beake, who she feels is the love of her life. A lawyer, he comes from a very wealthy family. Rosalee can’t help but wonder, why her? So as a group of family and friends organize a bachelorette party, to The Big Easy, with most of them not really wanting to be there it seems to go downhill beginning at the airport. The cast of characters, one of which will be dead by the end include:

Rosalee, the bride to be. A bit insecure due to the fact she knows her soon to be husband’s mother and sister don’t care for her thinking he could do much better. She has no family other than a cousin named Tinsley as her parents died when she was young in a car accident. She hopes everybody can just get along. But she is a bit concerned about one thing. She thinks perhaps Asher is cheating on her with one of the wedding party. And that is only one of Rosalee’s secrets.

Elizabeth Beake is Asher’s mother. She cannot particularly stand Rosalee and does not understand why her son would pick this mouse. She had always hoped he and his best friend from childhood, Georgia would finally see they were made for each other. Something Elizabeth continually says! She is still recovering from losing her husband last year and between this wedding and her daughter Bri’s antics she just wants the weekend to go quickly. Although Elizabeth herself does not share everything with her family.

Bri, the soon to be sister-in-law, does not care for Rosalee and tries to embarrass her whenever she can. She too doesn’t want her as a member of their family and will perhaps attempt to make some waves. But Bri is a drinker and sometimes is an embarrassment to herself. Why does she drink so much? We will find out!

Mara, the best friend, does not like either of Rosalee’s soon to be family. And she plans on showing them just how much on this trip. She wants to make their lives miserable. Yes, she’s a bit jealous and yes even though she planned the trip she has no money, but she adores Rosalee and knows how they have been treating her.

Georgia is Asher’s childhood best friend and doesn’t really know why she is here. She can’t imagine Rosalee wanting her here, but Elizabeth insisted she come. She was a nurse but left her position to start a yoga studio. She feels Rosalee has the wrong impression of her. Worst of all, someone is threatening her and could ruin what is left of her new career.

Tinsley is Rosalee’s only relative, the cousin she went to live with when her parent died. At first Tinsley resented Rosalee’s presence as she and her mother had always been best friends. Tinsley, a bookworm who kept to herself always had to work hard for what she had whereas Rosalee was the life of the party and was able to go to college because of the money she was left when her parents died. She still lives paycheck to paycheck and oh, by the way, she’s paying for everything because Mara is waiting for her “windfall”.

Just remember this…they all have secrets and bitterness towards each other. Anyone of them could be pushed to the limit and accidentally, intentionally kill! And the anticipation of the who, what, where how and why will kill you!

My Review

3.5 Stars
Rosalee and Asher’s wedding is approaching and it’s time for the bachelorette party. It’s being held in a grand mansion in New Orleans and best friend Mara has pulled out all the stops for the weekend. We have Rosalee the bride-to-be, Mara the best friend, Elizabeth the mother-in-law, Bri the sister-in-law, Tinsley the cousin and Georgia the groom's friend. This weekend is a hotbed of tension, animosity and hidden agendas and everyone’s keeping secrets and when everything inevitably implodes the weekend ends with someone dead.

This psychological thriller was narrated in such a unique way and I definitely liked the style of this as each pivotal character got the chance of a voice as we take turns in each of their psyches. it was well-written and an easy read and though there were no great shocks delivered I did mostly enjoy this. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of The Bachelorette Party.

The Bachlorette Party by Carissa Ann Lynch is a psychological thriller.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter (and in particular, Sara Roberts), and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

My Synopsis:    (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions)
It's supposed to be a wonderful party for the soon-to-be bride. A fun-filled weekend in New Orleans, in a beautiful old mansion. It quickly turns sour, and one of the attendees ends up dead.

Rosalee, soon to be marrying Rob, is a little on edge because she fears her husband may not be as perfect as she thought.  That, and the fact that he doesn't know her biggest secret.

Mara, Rosalee's maid of honour, and best college friend, has made all the plans, and wants everything to be perfect.  She's having serious money issues, but has finagled others to pay for the party.

Elizabeth, Rosalee's future mother-in-law, is not happy with her sons choice, and hopes to change the outcome.  She is sure that Georgia should be her new daughter-in-law.

Bri, Rosalee's future sister-in-law, doesn't agree with Rob's choice in brides either, but a party is a party....and as long as she can drink, and keep taking her anti-anxiety drugs, she's fine.

Tinsley, Rosalee's cousin,  who really can't afford it, is unexpectedly paying for the whole party.  She's worried about Rosalee, because she's the only one that knows all her cousin's secrets.

Georgia, the groom's best friend, knows Rosalee is concerned about her friendship with Rob, but has so many other worries, that it's just one of a list.

Even the mansion has secrets.

My Opinions:
This was a really fast, entertaining read.  It's about secrets and resentments, and 6 catty women.  I'm not sure I liked ANY of the characters, though, so that was probably my only complaint (well, to be honest, I'm not into chick lit, but this looked good and I'm glad I chose it).

I liked how the chapters alternated between all of the guests, and eventually the detective as well.  It was really well done, and kept things from getting too confusing with so many main characters.

The plot flowed smoothly, if somewhat predictably.  I didn't see that ending coming though!  I loved it.  That ending and the fact that we didn't know who died til close to the end (although I had guessed), was what sent the book from 3.5 to 4 stars.

I really admire this author!

Synopsis: New Orleans: live music, endless drinks, brightly-coloured attractions, the perfect place for a party… The bride-to-be. The best friend. The cousin. The mother-in-law. The sister. The groom’s friend. The bachelorette begins on a Friday night; all six women are excited for a chance to escape their everyday lives. But then friendly rivalries turn vicious, and a game of truth or dare turns deadly. By the end of the weekend one of them will be dead…

My Thoughts: While this is the first time I have read this author, I know Lynch has put out amazing novels prior to this, so I will be looking up her backlist. This was a solid read. I loved this spin on the bachelorette party with a murder twist. I would liked to have seen more done with the backdrop of New Orleans, but that is just me. The story is narrated by multiple characters, from their point of view, at first it was a little confusing, but I got the who is who soon thereafter. The characters were developed well, with depth, many secrets, betrayals, mysterious, and creatively written. None of the characters are particularly likable, but you could relate to an extent, and that is how they are written into the story, and that is how they work together. The author’s writing style was complex, suspenseful, has a creepy element, and was easy to binge read in a few hours. The characters were well thought out, the plot was delivered into twisty layers, and the ending was whoa, where did that come from? I recommend you pick up this fast paced, easy to get through thriller next month!

Anytime I am in a reading slump, Carissa is my go to author. She never fails to pull me in, and keep me guessing until the very last page. The Bachelorette Party is no exception!

The character development is flawless. Each and every character is relatable in one way or another. All having their own loveable, and toxic traits to contribute to the seemingly effortless plot development.

Another unpredictable, un-putdownable, 5 star read from Carissa.

This is a book I would LOVE to see as a series on Netflix or hulu.

This is a quick, easy and forgettable read. None of the characters are memorable, their secrets range from over the top to non issues so the reveals are all over the place and plot wasn’t well paced. However the writing is simple so it’s easy to keep turning the chapters even if you aren’t fully engaged.

Rosalee is having her bachelorette party with her best friend, cousin, sister in law, mother in law, and husband’s best friend. A murder takes place and they are all suspects with questionable motives.

None of the characters evoked a strong reaction in me so their nefarious plotting and strategizing fell flat. There were too many questionable decisions and the final twist didn’t feel necessary at all.

Oh The Tangled Webs Woven! 😳😯🤯

I know you're probably thinking "oh fluff another bachelorette party thriller novel?!" But this one was so delish! There's just something about hostility, deception, lies and craziness that appeal to me with these ones! It was so juicy with the crazy secrets each character had and the different view points never gets confusing and adds to the deception. The suspense is amped up right from the first page and doesn't end.

Mყ 𝐒ყɴ𝐨ρѕιѕ: What could be better than an extravagant bachelorette party weekend in New Orlean's with your best friend, cousin-practically-sister, fiancée's best friend, soon to be sister-in-law and mother-in-law?
Rosalee is finally getting to marry the love of her life since she was a kid, Asher. His mother Elizabeth and sister Bri, are less than thrilled. Asher's best friend, Georgia, is happy for him but with ulterior motives. Rosalee's best friend, Mara & practically sister, Tinsley, plan an epic celebration for her party in a fab house in New Orleans. But right off the hop, things are set in motion to become a deadly ending weekend from secrets, deception and lies.

Be ready for some shockers, some crazy revealings and how the ending ties together is delish. If you loved The Bridesmaids by Victoria Jenkins, you'll love this! I flew through this fast-paced, slightly shorter book and I was enamoured. So delectable like your favourite comfort food or desert. Family drama, high tension, & endless mystery. So yum!

I love reading books by Carissa Ann Lynch and she did not disappoint with her latest, The Bachelorette Party. A perfect story, a bachelorette party with six very different women in one of the best party places around, New Orleans. A well written, fast paced thriller that had me on the edge of my seat! A mind blowing story that kept me trying to guess who the killer is and why. The pages turn quickly and when the killer is revealed, just keep reading because Ms. Lynch always throws a curve ball and this is no different!!! My highest regards to this very talented author!!! I am so looking forward for the next one!!!

Thank you NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and Carissa Ann Lynch for the honor to receive an advanced copy of this captivating book in exchange for my honest review.

2.5 stars rounded up

I was excited to read this, intrigued by the setting in New Orleans and the large estate with a bloody past. Rosalee is having her bachelorette party with a group of unlikeable women - her best friend Mara, her cousin Tinsley, her future mother-in-law Elizabeth, her future sister-in-law Bri, and her fiancés childhood best friend Georgia.

I liked the build up as to who has been killed but the reveal was anticlimactic. I didn’t care for the writing style, especially the overuse of ellipses. It was a quick read but I think it could have used some more pages to go into the setting and the history of the house more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is just a fun albeit creepy read about a bachelorette party gone wrong! Rosalee is excited about her party thrown by her best friend Mara and cousin Tinsley, but the mansion seems to be haunted and odd things begin happening immediately. Her new soon-to-be-mother-in-law seems standoffish and her groom's sister suffers a mishap requiring hospitalization. What else could go wrong? Plenty! So dive in and be prepared for plenty of surprises as we watch these catty women divulge secrets, lies, and gossip!
