Andi doesn’t do feelings and she definitely doesn’t do dragons.

Andi is familiar with making bad decisions. For once in her life, she’s making the right choice, the safe choice. But why does it feel so wrong?

Andi Ngo saw something she shouldn’t have: a world filled with monsters, magic, talking cats…and giant, fire-breathing dragons. She didn’t need a crystal ball to know that she didn’t belong in it, so she walked away from destiny.

But now that she’s back to her depressingly mundane existence as a night nurse and chasing down her troublesome brother, she can’t help remembering everything she saw and felt with Damian: all consuming passion and a connection. Feeling like she mattered, that someone saw her for herself, and wanted her for his own.

When she discovers a new dangerous magic threatening her patients, there’s only one person who might be able to help her. Can she risk going to Damian? One might walk free from a dragon once, but twice?

Here's an exclusive excerpt!

“I’m not leaving you until you push me away.”

He watched his words hit her like hard rain, making her flinch—not because she was scared of him, he knew, but because she was frightened of his kindness. She bit her lips, and her gaze went distant as her breathing sped up, and he knew she was thinking about what he’d said, trying to decide if he truly meant it, letting his words echo in her mind. He hoped that there they would multiply, filling in all the gouges left on her by other people’s cruel abandonments, that the first sharp pain would dull into a warm and roaring downpour that left her satisfied.

I’m not leaving you, I’m not, I’m not, he thought in time with his own heartbeat, willing for her to hear it again.

She is your meant-to-be and always-is... It doesn't matter what you want. Regardless of your desires, she is your destiny.

4.5 Dragon blood stars!

In this continuation of Andi and Damian's story, they both struggle in vain against the irresistible pull they feel towards each other, both still feeling raw and uncertain since their last meeting in book one. When Damian last left Andi, he was determined to push her away in order to keep her safe from the dangers of his world and all of the Unearthly creatures that follow him. He definitely succeeded in leaving Andi feeling unwanted and abused by him, a mistake he regrets as soon as the lies leave his lips. But as Andi continues the search for her missing brother, she finds that her fate is inexorably intertwined with Damian's and that neither one is able to fully let the other go.

Even though Damian and Andi spent the majority of this book fighting their feelings for each other, there is still so much happening in this novel to keep readers entertained. Their push-and-pull relationship was so delicious to watch, leaving me desperate for the time when they would both get over their pride and succumb to their desires. There was also so many surprising developments we learn surrounding Andi's family in this novel that ultimately left me with even more questions surrounding what's to come. The secondary characters were even more fleshed out here, and I loved their interactions, especially between Damian and the two wolf brothers. Overall, this was a sexy and heart-pounding sequel that left me ready for more from this world!

My Damian Blackwood, always dapper in a suit and surrounded by his mirrors....

7/15/2022 - Currently part of Kobo's 2 for $12 audiobook sale.

7/14/2022 - This is the 2nd book in the Prince of the Other Worlds series. While there’s several adventures, questions answered, and some very sexy scenes - more mysteries arise and the relationship is a slow burn spanning multiple books. All the books need to be read and in order. There's also a prequel, Dragon’s Don’t Date, that is fun but not necessary to the plots of the series. This review will contain spoilers to previous books.

Book 1 ended with Damian & Andi going their separate ways. Little do they know but their worlds will continue to collide and intertwine. While Andi is searching for her brother, Danny, she will encounter suspicious beings that her prior experience with Damian has taught her are probably not entirely human. I enjoyed getting to know Damian's "crew" better as they're more heavily featured in this story. Austin, Zach, & Grimalkin plus Jamison and Mills. The banter and interplay between them is a lot of fun.

My love for Romantic Suspense was sated with several action scenes, new nemeses, a frenemy, mysteries solved, and new ones uncovered. I enjoy that the story features several strong & capable women, including Andi. (There's no TSTL heroines here). Romance wise - there's definitely push/pull going on, but I didn't feel like it dragged out or overtook the rest of the story. Damian & Andi both have good reasons for being wary of relationships.

I'm so ready for Dragon Fated!

Narration:
Love Victoria Mei's narration. She does such an amazing job with all the voices and emotions that I'm sucked into this amazing world. There are dozens of characters and they're flawlessly unique and delivered perfectly. Love listening to these.

While I own the entire series in ebook, I did receive a copy of the audiobooks from Home Cooked Books and am leaving an honest review.

When I started Dragon Called, I didn’t realize there would be a cliffhanger and immediately dove straight in to Dragon Destined! I am hooked on Andi, Damian, and Damian’s colorful crew of magical misfits! The tension between Andi and Damian’s push and pull relationship, Andi’s missing brother, some unexpected surprises, the Hunter’s dastardly plot, a really steamy romance, and great battle scenes...onward to book three!!

So I made the mistake of not reading book one first but I really liked how there were enough hints and information dropped to help you put a picture together on what had previously occurred. I just loved Damian and Andi especially as they infuriated each other so much trying to pretend they didn't feel anything for each other so that was highly entertaining and I really liked how it was a slow burn. Not only were Damian and Andi great characters you connected with and got drawn into their story the support characters were great too and you got to know them and get that real feel like you are there with them all. A great mix of laughs, suspense, action and attraction so pretty much covers every base you want in this type of book!

Dragon Destined by Kara Lockharte and Cassie Alexander is a slow burn paranormal romance. This is the second book in the Prince of the Other Worlds series and does end on a cliffhanger.

This is the second book of Kara and Cassie’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I absolutely love the chemistry between Andi and Damian. I cannot wait for the next book in the series Dragon Fated to be released on May 31, 2020.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone that loves Paranormal Romances.

I really like Damian and Andi but they are also incredibly annoying!!

I can't deal with this level of miscommunication and there are two more books with them so there will be two more books of them not having a bloody conversation or asking questions or just not being dumb. Both are so quick to jump the gun and we know they are mad for each other but they JUST DON'T TALK!!

This is sold as a slow burn romance and I do not think the people who did the marketing for this book know what slow burn means because they've no problem with sexy times. This is a maddening miscommunication romance told over four books. I hope I will be unable to not know what happens some day but I can't be dealing with them after two books back to back so I'll wait before I read the next two books.

This book continues to follow Andi and Damien Blackwood. A lot of truths and secrets are revealed summer very shocking I was not expecting that.
Very enjoyable the tension between Andi and Damien is smoking freaking hot. Do you just want to tell them to get a room. They’re both fighting it and more so than her.
But it’s understandable because I think he kind of fears his dragon not in the sense that he doesn’t trust his dragon because he does to a point. But I think more so that if he lets the dragon out he may never get himself back.

The ending was the best part for me the connection that they finally have with the answers that we have now understood or I should say unveiled make a lot more sense now. I want to see what happens with her uncle and her brother because those are some pretty big truth bombs that were revealed and we still have some mystery we have to figure out what’s going on there.

It will be interesting to see where the rest of the series will take us.

Now I like princess as a pet name but I have to say Damien bro you say it a little too much just saying maybe it’ll grow on me right now I’m like a little bit annoyed.

The narration is fantastic I have to reiterate that because sometimes I forget that we only have one narrator that’s how good she is. And she’s bringing the story wings literally.

Audio review for Dragon Destined
The prologue for this story we start with Damien, his dragon and Andi in a sexy Dreamscape, what a way to start a book!!!
Andi in the mean time is trying to get answers to her what’s going on with her brother. She turns to her uncle who is evasive to say the least, but Andi is concerned and persistent. Damien is also persistent but, for an entirely different reason and temptation becomes to great even with reminders of Andi not being safe in his presence, his dragon even reminds him of the dangers ahead.
Victoria’s narration continues to be perfect for this sexy and exciting series.

These two authors put out a wonderful book. I read the first one and this one continues right along from where the first left off. Damien and his dragon still crave Andi but she still wishes him to stay away and he follows her wishes. I love Grimm he's a trip. I look forward to the next book.

The moment I finished the first book in this series, I knew I would be interested in the next one. So when the authors offered the sequel for review, I jumped at the chance.

The series continues to be the best kitschy paranormal romance you could hope for. It delights in being a slowburn and keeping apart the romantic pair to make you want them together that much more. There are some sitcom-esque misunderstandings to up the angst, but the angst is the point so I didn't mind it too much.

Both the protagonists are expanded. Damian's dragon became a more in depth feature of his character. Whereas most animal counterparts in shifter tend to be nothing more than epicenters of horniness to push the shifter to sex, the dragon actually had struggles and character traits that made it it's own entity. For Andie, there's much more emphasis on her position as an Asian-American woman and how it effects her outlook on the world.

The found family aspect is more focused on this time as well. The werewolf brothers, for example. A witch character named Mills is here (and she didn't insta-girl-hate Andie when she met her, for which I was grateful) and in general, the characters were more fleshed out as a group. I'm hoping to see more of the group dynamic moving forward, with Andie a bigger part of it.

The series continues to be the a fantastic kitschy shifter romance. If that kind of thing is your cup of tea, definitely check this out!

*Audiobook review*

This book focuses a lot more on Andi's backstory than the relationship between her and Damien. We get much more insight into who she is and what motivates her. There isn't as much heat or tension as there was in book 1, but I still enjoyed the back and forth between the characters and that not every moment of the FMC's life was consumed with thoughts of the MMC. We also saw more of Damien, not really much on his past (again, a few small glimpses/comments) but instead on who he is now, or rather what he does. I'm really starting to enjoy some of the side characters more in this story as we get to know them better. There are some big & interesting reveals and connections made in this story, tying Andi and Damien closer together in each of their quests. I did feel that this book was a little more difficult to keep track of the current POV. It's still third person, but there is not enough of a break between the focus on Damien and the focus on Andi. I prefer when they are separated into chapters instead of flowing into each other as it's less confusing.

Victoria continues to deliver a great performance. She has good range in her voices, and she does a good job with the multiple accents that pop up in this one. I think my favourite is how she plays Andi who is clearly going through some major changes in her life, and Victoria's performance helps us feel the chaos of confusion and emotions she's dealing with in all these revelations.
3.5/5 story, 4/5 narration

Dragon Destined by Kara Lockharte

Take what you want. Now and forever.

"There. "His dragon hovered, watching the tentacle’s dying spasms." I have done all that you have required of me. It is my turn now." - Dragon

Being a billionaire dragon shifter had its perks... Too bad being able to claim your destined mate wasn't one of them... Damian was guardian of the Realms. His responsibility to protect Earth and its inhabitants from the Unearthly, beings of alternate dimensions.

Andi was a registered nurse, straddling two worlds. Being of Asian and Caucasian descent, she often felt she belonged to neither culture. But she had her twin Danny to help keep her grounded... And that one magical night with Damian, when she discovered secrets about him that she would never reveal. But now her brother Danny is missing, and Andi is desperate to find him...

"She was someone he could be safe with. She’d seen him, truly, and she hadn’t been afraid. And he’d known it from the first moment he’d met her at the bus stop. She hadn’t been wearing a sign saying, “Here, trust me with your heart.” But somehow, his heart had known." - Damian

But Damian has his claws full with the Unearthly coming through rifts ... Rifts that shouldn't exist and assassination attempts on him. Damian just wants to keep Andi safe... But it appears Fate has other plans....

Wowza, what a ride! Ups and downs, twists and turns, and a love that won't surrender! Loved it!

This is the second in a series concerning the main protagonists' relationship. I enjoyed this one so will keep reading, despite the fact I usually dislike long-drawn out series. We haven't had a particularly bad cliffhanger ending so far - which is a pet hate of mine.

The characters become more developed in this one. We learn more about all of them. I was particularly interested in the concept of the dragon as a separate entity that communicates with Damian. It reminded me of the bonded dragons in Fourth Wing, rather than the usual idea of a shifter, with the beast and the human as two sides of the same being. I'll be interested to see how that turns out. Is it some kind of posession. There is a storyline regarding Andi, her brother and dragons but that was in its very early stages in this book.

The supporting cast were more interesting too. That's the luxury of a longer series, you get to flesh out the friends and family. I particularly liked Mills, a witch who has never cut her hair and cannot lie. There was an intriguing hint of a personal cost to her magic which I hope will be fully explored later in the series.

I was less enamoured of the werewolf female renegade (can't remember her name). She was just bonkers, and not in a good way. Although Zak's crush on her is sweet.

The sex was pretty good although all left to the end as Damian and Andi are not together for most of the book. Some further hinting at Damian's dominant leanings but nothing too heavy.

All in all a good, fun romp with plenty of humour and some good world building. I am keen to read
the rest of the series.

Nurse Andi Ngo works at the hospital on the night shift and is still searching for her brother, who disappeared as soon as she bailed him out of jail. And she’s trying to forget Damian Blackwood, who is totally wrong for her and oh, he’s also a dragon. But when some strangers appear at the hospital and a dangerous patient comes in, she has to contact Damian, because this stuff is right up his alley. Damian is also trying to forget And, although he and his dragon feel that she’s the “one.” He thinks he should protect her from his dangerous life by leaving her alone, unfortunately danger finds her anyway. There is quite a lot going on, we learn more about Andi’s “Uncle Lee” and then there’s these unscrupulous and deadly Hunters added to the mix, and of course Damian’s crew is still fighting creatures that are coming through rifts, so there’s never a dull moment in either of Damian or Andi’s lives. Just like in the first book, there are some sizzling romantic scenes, and I think this couple is going to have to just give in and work on a relationship because they’re meant for each other. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series to find out what happens next with this couple, and the rest of these great characters.

This is not a stand alone story. You need to read Dragon Called before starting this one. I continued listening to this series after I liked the balance of romantic suspense and fantasy in the first book, though I will admit it took awhile to get used to the whole talking-to-the-dragon-like-a-separate-entity-inhabiting-the-same-body thing. This is the first real shifter book I've read/listened to, so I have no idea of that's normal for the genre.

As with the first one, I was still really hesitant about the relationship being dragged out over an entire series, but it's been okay so far. I don't have a lot of patience for the constant misunderstandings and poor communication that causes the break up/get back together cycle, but this one hasn't been over the top yet. It also transitions the story from book two to book three with a break in the action, not as an annoying cliffhanger. Overall, I've been happy I took a chance on this one, as it's definitely different than my usual choices, though I do still prefer stand alone stories. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars.

I listened to the audiobook and Victoria Mei did an amazing job with her performance. I'm sure that I liked the story more because I listened to it. She adds enough variation to her performance to hold my attention for hours.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

She's a nurse with an in trouble brother He is a dragon who has to protect the world from the things that slip in through the rifts between worlds. Andi is still searching for wayward brother who disappeared when she bailed him out of jail. Damian is the dragon she is trying to forget, but he isn't forgetting about her. Strangers appear at the hospital and a dangerous patient comes in. She doesn't know who else to call for help but Damian. "Uncle Lee" and deadly Hunters are added to the mix. Damian and his crew are trying to hunt the Hunters killing shifters in the community. Much magical things are happening and unknowns are accumulating. Is there a connection? Will Andi's brother be found? Will they track down the Hunters? Will Damian convince Andi they belong together?I am voluntarily leaving this review for having received the ARC and I do so gladly because this was a great read. There is a little bit of everything in this book, mystery, intrigue, romance, action, and magic. The story is well written and the characters are interesting. The romantic times are great. The adventures are great and there is never a dull moment through out the reading. I recommend this book and series. You won't be disappointed.

This book just gets better as you goes through it. The story focuses a lot on Andi trying to find her brother Danny. You will have to read the book to find out if she does? Or, what she finds out about Danny? Andi and Damian both keep thinking about each other and wondering if their relationship will continue & grow. Will Andi & Damian find time to get together or will they find someone else?

While Andi is focus on Danny and her job, Damian and his men are protecting earth from creations coming through portals, hunters from kidnapping or killing their kind, and who else needs help from harm. Almost from the beginning of the book there is never a dole moment between all of the adventure, action, mystery, magic, romance and hunting activities. It helps if you read the first book, Dragon Called, but you will enjoy this book by itself because there is so much going on and it does being you up to date.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I would recommend this book if you enjoy paranormal creatures, magic, romance, mystery and a lot of fun!

Dragon Destined is book two in the Prince of the Other Worlds series and follows on where book one left off.
Despite Damien and Andi going their separate ways, Damien continues to protect earth from the other realms and he and his team are dealing with hunters who are trying to not only kill them but use their skin and other body parts to become immortal. Andi has returned to her regular nursing job but ends up embroiled back in the otherworldly goings on while on her one-woman crusade to find her missing troubled brother.
Not only do Damien and his dragon think that Andi is his mate, but it seems the fates agree and once again intertwine their lives.
Dragon Destined will take you on a magical, mystery ride filled with twists and turns, mayhem and edge of your seat action that will have you gripped from start to finish. I will leave you with lots of questions. Where is Danny? What is the story with Andi’s uncle? Will they get to the bottom of the portal in the hospital before it opens again? What are Stella’s intentions? And will Grimm ever get enough cheese?

Part 2 of 4 in the saga of Andi & Damian. Best read in order because the story does stack however information is refreshed and reminded so you could read it on its own, but it would be very unsatisfying since the HEA won't come until book 4.

We get to know more about Nurse Andi and Dragon Shifter Damian as they work separately and together in this installment of the story.

As Andi is trying to find her missing twin brother, we meet his friends/associates, their extended family in the "uncle" she's known her whole life and his associates. The uncle tries to play match maker and that makes Damian upset.

Damian and his dragon in between portal closing fights both just want to spend time with Andi. So they are monitoring her a little more than she would like. But when their varied and completely separate paths intersect on multiple occasions, they need to come clean with each other. Trust and truth are sometimes very painful things to both give and accept.

The audiobook was performed solo by the ever amazing Victoria Mei. I love her voice and the way she can provide inflections and emotions for all the various intensities and intricacies involved in this story. From tender, worried or loving to angry, disappointed, confused and panicked, there is a lot of emotions to process that Victoria brings to life like a punch to the gut. You feel them all and just go with the flow until it's over and then ask "what? that's it?"

I requested and was provided a copy of the audio book. These are my honest opinions.

Dragon Called ended with Andi cutting off her relationship with Damian. But Damian knew they weren’t done by a long shot.

In Dragon Destined, we watch Andi continue trying to find her brother Danny. Damian and his group are trying to track down hunters preying on the shifter community. A lot of their efforts seem to involve the same people, could there be a connection? The unknowns start to pile up, and Damian and Andi are drawn closer together. There’s a lot magical stuff happening, and finally Andi encounters a situation she knows poses a huge threat. She has no choice but to call Damian.

We do get some insight on what has happened to Danny and how that relates to the hunters. And Damian and Andi are together again. But I still have a whole bunch of questions! It’s really hard to wait for Dragon Fated!

Engaging Paranormal adventure
I was grabbed right away with an erotic dream right from the get go. I would not have expected that since Damian and Andi were at loggerheads at the end of the first book. In this continuing saga in book two it gets deeper into the minds of our main characters, who I love and are perfect for each other. As their relationship progresses, so do the adventures. Andi does not trust Damion so much, but I think she does not trust her self is really her bigger problem. There are more supernaturals and a thickening of the plot. A who is who, and who is what will keep you on your toes reading this great story. A worthy plot, great characters and plenty of action and twists kept me engaged from beginning to end. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.

I would strongly recommend reading the first book, Dragon Called, in The Prince of the Other Worlds series before reading Dragon Destined. I have not read the first book in this series and was thrown when the story appeared to begin in the middle of a story arc…which is does! Of course, I didn’t realize this was the second book in a series until I was a quarter way through the book. LOL

Even though I started in the middle of this series, I was quickly drawn into the action and loved getting to know all the characters. I love a good slow burn romance and this series delivers! I will be going back to read Dragon Called before the next in this series come out. I am now invested and must know what happens with this crew.

Book two brings us delights...
Nurse Andi really has things go all sorts of wrong for her in the second book of this amazingly good series. Although Andi and Damian still haven't gotten their HEA it doesn't take from the story. They are both too busy trying to stay alive and protect.
Tons of magic, mayhem, and action in this one and I can't wait to see what the next book brings. The one thing they both know is they can't walk away...

What a great second book of this series! I fell in love with the characters in the first book and I adored how the authors went deeper into their personalities, not just the main characters, but all the other supporting characters as well! Grimm is still by far my favorite character of the series as the comedic relief! And as with the first book, the nursing aspect of the book was SPOT ON! You can tell someone with in depth experience truly had a hand in this book. This book maybe the second but it wasn’t just a “place holder” book. It had every bit of action as the first one. It is not a HEA but I would say it’s a HEA for now book. If you don’t mind a super slow burn book that leaves you on pins for the next one, grab a copy!

This is an honest opinion of a ARC I received:)

I was blessed enough to receive a free ebook copy of the book from one of the author's in exchange for my honest review of the book. My personal review of the book is as follows:

I have to start this review off by saying that book 2 definitely turned up the heat and the steam so definitely keep that in mind, You might just have a new hot dragon shifter crush after you finish reading 😍.

I personally really enjoyed the strong characters and(in my personal opinion) deepening of the over plot arc of the series as a whole as well as for the majority of the characters. I definitely love where the relationship between the main characters seems to be heading and I can't wait to see what happens next with the characters.

Overall I personally rate this book an 8 and a half out of 10.

Her brother is still missing, but a late night call from sends her out searching for clues to his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Damian and his team are dealing with the reappearance of the Hunters plus their normal portal creatures. While neither Andi or Damian can seem to forget about each other and are fighting their undeniable attraction. But fate has a way of drawing them back together when both of their searches eventually lead them back together at the most opportune time. Damian was guardian of the Realms whose job it was to protect Earth and its people from the “Unearthly”, creatures from alternate dimensions. Rifts into the human realm keep occurring which lets them come through.

Andi was a registered nurse whose brother Danny is missing. She needed help finding him. But Damian was heavily occupied dealing with the Unearthly coming through the unexpected rifts and attacks coming at him. Although he wants to protect Andi, Damian had tried to push her away for her own safety, but something keeps pulling them both together.

There is plenty of action and romance in this story, intriguing enough to keep the reader’s full attention. Grab your copy and enjoy!

This is the second book in the series and it’s even better than the first book! I loved the opening dream scene of a mystical ball that made me feel like I was in the same room dancing among the characters. From there, the story of Damian and Andi continues through tension and danger. There are so many different characters in one book – dragons, witches, werewolves and a cheese loving cat. And best of all, it has some medical drama (science fiction and medical – one of my favorite reading genre). It’s been so fun and exciting reading this book that I can’t wait for the next book to come out. Even though this book was given to me by the author, I can honestly say, it’s been one of the best books I’ve read for a while (keeping me up until 10:30 at night to get to the ending).
