Things are looking up for half-werewolf, half-witch Rosie Hart. She and her best friend and fellow werewolf, Lucas Beckett, have discovered a mate bond that transcends the human experience of love.
Only one problem...
The United States Werewolf Council has ordered Rosie to mate with an alpha when she is of age, and Lucas isn't an alpha. At least not yet.
Lucas secretly has been promised a future as alpha among his family's pack, but the question remains, will it happen before the Council decides it's time for Rosie to fulfill their wishes?
Even as the threat of being ripped apart looms, Rosie and Lucas's love flourishes. But when the Council shows up at Hart House and orders Rosie to start courting Calvin, future alpha of the neighboring Cramer pack, impending threats become a current affair.
Rosie is suddenly thrust into a werewolf world that is different from her father's leadership in the Hart pack. The Cramers hold to old, misogynistic, barbaric traditions, and Rosie fears being forced into a life she hates.
With tensions rising at home between the Hart family and local hunters, and Rosie forced to spend her weekends with the Cramers, the future looks bleak. She must find a way to navigate life with a pack that questions and threatens her very existence if she is to survive.
This was an ARC read I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This series revolves around a girl named Rose and her life as a 16-year-old half witch half wolf. I feel like the targeted audience would be more suited towards high schoolers, with that being said; I am really enjoying this series as a whole the plot to the storyline, and characters are really absolutely amazing and definitely well written can I am excited to see how book 3 ties it all together. This series so far it gives me a little bit of everything from a teen romance to a little bit of mystery and suspense and would highly recommend this book to anyone who really enjoys a good young adult rated book/series.
However I'm going to have to rate this a 4 out of 5 I felt like there was a lot of filler in this book which isn't always a bad thing but I felt like there was a little too much for my liking
Thank you Rachelle Kampen and BookSirens for allowing me to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Witch in a Wolf Den starts a few months after the events of book one. Rosie and Lucas are wolf mates and have to hide their relationship from everyone. The werewolf Council is ordering Rosie to mate with an Alpha from a different pack when she is of age and Lucas is not an alpha. William Cramer, a leader of a different pack suggests (and orders) Simon, Rosie's father, to have Rosie come over the Cramer house on weekends so she can mate with Calvin Cramer, William's son. Lucas takes it upon himself to learn more about becoming an alpha so he doesn't lose Rosie to Calvin or any other alpha.
While dealing with werewolf politics Rosie is being harassed at school by Mason and hunters trying to kill wolves for pelts on Hart land.
Ugh, that cliffhanger!
Witch in a Wolf Den is a pretty good follow up to Moon Over Hanks Hollow. There was a lot of build up leading up to the last few chapters. Rosie and Lucas's relationship is complicated and forbidden. For Lucas's chapters, while I liked reading his POV he repeatedly thinks about the mating bond and how they can't be together. I think because Rosie has much more going on and to think about that it's more noticeable in Lucas's chapters. I do love that he tries to support Rosie while she's dealing with the Cramers. I like Calvin, he seems like such a sweet guy and I hope he will be able to get out of his abusive situation with his father in the next book.
I'm curious if there might be a time jump since Lucas can only become an alpha when he's eighteen or if he can best the current one.
There's not too much world-building, only character development. I hope in the third book we get more witch training or see a new power arise after what happened at the end of book two.
Overall I really liked the story and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
4 stars

A supernatural world where there is only one she wolf. She is also a witch, but some see her as an abomination. They don't think much of the female population in general and being a witch makes it worse.
The concept is good, but there are repetitions. Lucas and Rosie are a lovely couple and as their bond gets stronger, it becomes harder to hide their feelings. Anyway, Rosie's future is all mapped out by the council and she is thrown in the Cramer's wolf den. Her life is in danger as someone has leaked her identity to them. Despite, their plan, she grows close to Calvin who she is meant to court. Her heart lies elsewhere though and she makes sure that Calvin can only be a friend.
The wolf hunt ends in tragedy and there is a question mark on Rosie's life. This is a good read, but I preffered the first book. It also ends on a cliffhanger! The romance is sweet and the friendship among the pack is great. Pity they can't see the traitor for who he is. It's a short read for fans of the paranormal.
I received an eARC from BookSirens and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
I couldn't resist picking up this book to see how it would play out. I felt that this book was a little slow at first to pick up compared to the first, but I enjoyed it. Seeing a little more into the other packs was a great highlight to this book.
One thing I didn't like was that in the previous book, Lucas and Rosie had a strange feeling that they couldn't place. As a reader of shifter novels, I knew this would probably end up being the mating bond but wanted to see how it would play out. In the second book, they said multiple times that it was indeed the mating bond. However, there was no explanation at how they knew. Since Rosie is the first female werewolf and females are historically seen as the help, it doesn't make sense to me that they would know what this is. I would have loved to see more about that discovery and impact of it rather than picking up this book for the characters to somehow already know.
Overall, I thought this book was okay. It wasn't as good as the first, but I'm planning on finishing out the series to see how it ends.

Witch in a Wolf Den is a very well written book, that follows the story of Rosie and Lucas. Allthough they are in love, their relationship must be kept a secret, because Rosie is half witch, half werewolf, and the US Werewolf Council decided she can only mate with an Alpha werewolf.
And Lucas is not an Alpha.
When the Council tells Rosie to start courting Alvin Cramer, I actually screamed!
Suddently Rosie is thrown into a misogynistic pack, where she is mistreated, and has no real allies. :/ I really loved that despite his anger and helplessness, Lucas tried to be supportive of Rosie.
I think I would have liked to see more world building, but the character development is very good, and the plot is very interesting. I look forward to reading the following book of tis series, because that cliffhanger, was good!!!
The book had both Rosie's and Luca's POV, which I loved, as I was curious about both.
This book jumped right in where the first book left off, which I definitely appreciated. I was really anxious to see where Lucas and Rosie’s attraction would lead. I adored their sweet stolen moments and how their bond was continuing to grow. However, what I wasn’t prepared for was the Crammer pack and just how “intense” they were. I literally got anxiety for Rosie when she had to visit them and was hoping right along with her that things would somehow work out for the best, even if the odds were stacked against her. And, as if the the tension with the Crammer’s and the Werewolf Counsel wasn’t bad enough there is high school life and all the kids that Rosie has had to deal with over the years. This book definitely had drama, and you g love and suspense and omg that ending! I am absolutely loving this series and can’t wait for the next book.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for an ARC copy of this book.
Witch in a Wolf Den is book 2 in the Hanks Hollow series by Rachelle Kampen.
I really didn’t think much of the world or character building in book 1. The world building in book 2 hasn’t really improved, however the character building has. I enjoyed book 2 more than book 1.
This book picks up a few months after the ending of book 1 when the United States Werewolf Council declared that Rosie must mate an Alpha.
This leads to Rosie & Lucas having to keep their relationship secret, even though they have a mate bond. Lucas can’t become an alpha until he is 18 or defeats the existing alpha, Marcus. He is spending time with the Becketts who are teaching him everything he needs to know about becoming alpha.
Rosie’s father receives a visit from William Cramer and his son Calvin (who is very quiet and reserved). William wants to arrange a courtship between Rosie & Calvin and suggests she stays at their home and wants to bring her into their pack.
While having to deal with this, she is also having to put up with being harassed by Mason, the guy who attacked her in book 1 and also hunters who are hunting on Hart land.
This ends on a cliffhanger. I’m looking forward to the next book.

This book tells the story of Rosie who’s half witch half wolf and the first female wolf every to have walked the earth. She’s mated to another pack wolf, Lucas, but due to her being so odd, the council has decided she must mate an Alpha (which Lucas is not… yet?) This also is spoken from her brother Sam, the next in line as the Hart pack Alpha. Who will the council choose for her to mate? Will she have to mate them or will she get to be with Lucas?
This book was a nice quick read, a decent shifter romance book for sure! I just wish it was a little bit more spicy, maybe a bit quicker paced? I don’t know, for how long it was I was hoping for more, but it’s still a good read none the less.
This book starts where the first book ended. It's a nice clean story about a 16 year old coming of age wolf/witch. Rosie is getting used to her mate bond with lucus and is struggling with the wolf council command to find a alpha to mate with. Her relationship is kept a secret until lucus can find a way to become an alpha. There's alot of confusing feelings for Rosie and a heartbreaking tragedy strikes at the end of the book. It's left on a cliff hanger. It has a nice story plot with lovable characters and i will continue to read through the series. I would recommend for a nice light quick read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I enjoyed reading Witch in a Wolf Den, but I will say it wasn't as gripping as the first book for me. I would have liked to see the mat bond explored more in the book as it was briefly mentioned and then forgotten. The struggle between Lucas' protective instinct and desire to let Rosie handle herself was well done as was the budding relationship between Calvin and Rosie. Overall, I would reccomend this book and I look forward to reading the next installment of the series.
I usually read NA, steamy books, but this amazing YA series hooked me since book one! 🤩 I loved Lucas and Rosie's secret moments, which are building and strengthening their mate bond 😍, also her friendship with Becca, which helps her with the bullies at school and, now, her new friendship with Calvin; but we will see about that, after what happened at his house! 😞 That ending tho! 😭... everything is going to be fine, right? 😫🙈, can't wait to read the next book in this fantastic series!!! 💕
I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. I definitely likes this book a lot more then the 1st book Moon Over Hanks Hollow. I rated it 3.5 only because I wanted more from the book. I do love how the mate bond between the FMC and Lucas are growing. I loved how it also jumped right in where the first one left off. Always a plus in my book! And the Cramer family, don’t even get me started that entire family makes my skin crawl. I do like the book overall, there’s just something quite missing that I’m looking for.

These books revolve around a girl named Rose a 16-year-old half witch half wolf. However I'm going to have to rate this a 4 out of 5 I feel like there was a lot of filler writing and it got jumbled at times
Witch in a Wolf Den is a mysterious and suspenseful teen fiction by RACHELLE KAMPEN. It picks up where the Moon Over Hanks Hallow ends. I didn’t know this was a young adult fiction when I began this series but I have a better understanding based on reading the first book in the series. You also have to remember Rose is only 16 and still figuring out life. I enjoyed reading this book and looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I received an ARC of this book (thank you Book Sirens) and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
There is nothing better than a book that evokes emotion, this book did that.
I felt like the characters developed well from the first book and throughout this one. I’m definitely invested in these characters and this pretty unique story.
I’m furious about the ending but only because it was written so well. You can bet your life I’ll be on tenterhooks, waiting for book 3!!
Rosie and Lucas are in love - but because of the circumstances of her birth, the Council has decreed that she must marry an alpha - or be put to death.
Will Calvin be the cause of her unhappiness? Or will Marcus and his father bring disaster to Rosie and her family? Love, hate, lots of action and amazing characters - cliff hanger ending, and I cant wait to read the next book!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh wow. I did not think this book could possibly be better than the first but it is! I struggle with finding words to describe how much I loved reading this. It's so easy to love the characters and even the bad guys are so complex it's difficult to hate them. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.

I was hesitant to read this book after reading the first one not that the first one was bad it just didn't really capture me. This one I loved from beginning to end. Seeing as Rosie tries to negative the challenges that are thrown at her while understand her own path was what kept me so engaged with the book. The story telling seemed to be more in depth and I loved getting to know more about each character.
I absolutely love Rosie and Lucas they are just so adorable together. I wasn't expecting to love Calvin as much as I did, but his character development in this book was so good. I started to feel for him that he's an outcast in his own pack, and it adds to the growing relationship between him and Rosie. I can not wait to see where this all goes. I really hope Amos and Marcus get it 🙏 please lord smite them.
I actually gave this one a 4.5/5⭐️ I really enjoyed the first one but i LOVED this one!😍 I definitely couldn’t put it down at parts, I need the next one like asap lol😭 I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series and anything else Rachelle comes out with!🖤

I was so excited to see what happens with Rosie after Book 1! It left me hanging and I needed more. The sequel did the same. I couldn’t put this down. I was infatuated with Rosie and Lucas and then the mix of Calvin and his horrible pack. My heart was torn. I don’t want to spoil anything but the ending of this book is …. Ahhhhh!!! I NEED to know more. I cannot wait for Book 3!
Woah... this book is an amazing continuation of book one. The development of Rosie as she finds more of herself. Her power of empathy and non judgemental ways are an inspiration. Watching the struggles and love of the Hart family was both an honor and a heartbreak. And that ending... All I can say is woah!
Great continuation of Rosie’s story. This book picks up right where the first one ends and builds the suspense from the beginning and doesn’t let up through the very last page. Moving right in to book 3 because I can’t wait to find out what happens next!!
Again, read the book in one day. Super easy read and continuous building on Lucas and Rosie. I think they are so cute together
The book held me from start to finish and I loved how Rosie's powers were explored more and more, also how they grew stronger with her grandmother's help and expertise
