I'm losing patience; the story is going nowhere. The pacing is slow and the characters are going in circles. There is too much inner monologue from Nina, and her head is not that interesting a place to be in. She's always beating herself up for getting her mates into this mess, blaming herself for how they get beaten up and injured while trying to help and protect her, and worrying about their well-being. It's getting old fast.

I actually can't figure out why they don't just get out of the territory and move to another state altogether. If they were to move farther away from pack lands, they'd be harder to track, and maybe they could seek refuge with another pack which were more welcoming and open-minded. Jax's pack wouldn't want to come at them if they were on another pack's lands because that would create war between the two packs. Why are they still hanging around in the area, when it's pretty clear that they're outnumbered and they keep getting bashed by Jax's people?? It's dumb!

But Nina has decided she wants to find the Oracle that Jax has been seeing, to find out what information the Oracle has been feeding Jax which has caused him to fixate on her. I thought this was short-sighted because she doesn't even know if this Oracle really exists or if Jax is just blowing hot air about it. Or, if the Oracle does exist, would she even talk to Nina? Maybe she has some allegiance to Jax and would refuse to reveal anything to other wolves. All round, this search for the Oracle made zero sense to me. Why would Nina trust anything Jax says? So what if he says he has answers and he has this Oracle?

But anyway, Nina adds one more guy to her harem (another wolf from Jax's pack, called Tate), and there's immediately an attack where the poor guy has to fight his pack members in order to protect Nina and her other mates. Later, Nina decides she needs some alone time and sneaks away. After she gets back, she practically bites poor Tate's head off when he expresses concern for her and says she shouldn't have gone off on a run on her own without telling them. She's all,
I'm my own woman, I do what I want, when I want, and will take your suggestions under advisement, but that's it. Just because we're mates, doesn't mean that you get to tell me how to live my life.
Excuse me? I understand girl power and not wanting to be controlled, but it WAS a dumb move to go off on her own when they are constantly being hunted and attacked. He was right to call her on it. I just really disliked Nina at that point.

She's the sort of character you think is strong because she has lived on her own for a long time, and takes steps to protect herself (working out, going to the gym and sparring so that she'll have quick reflexes). Then you look at her TSTL decisions and you think maybe she has just survived this long by sheer luck. And then you look at her stubbornness, where she'd rather put herself in danger than do the smart but difficult thing, and think she's actually pretty weak. She can't even control her emotions in a fight, and because of that gives away her advantage and makes reckless decisions.

She's forever taking time to have sex with the guys even at a time when they have to move on quickly because Jax's wolves are on their tail. And the sex is boring, it feels like the same thing over and over again. And, apart from the first two times with Roman when he used condoms, I've not seen a single other condom and there have been no talk of babies. So... is there no danger of pregnancy?

There is a bit of POV from the guys, but most of the time we're in Nina's head. Still no personality from Roman, Micah, or Blake. They all basically abandoned their lives to go with Nina, which Nina feels guilty about. Their lives revolve around her now. I've always liked protective men in my romance novels, but all the fighting and running feels pointless and repetitive. I cannot see how they could ever win, since Jax has way more resources and manpower than five wolves on the run. Jax can even manage to snatch someone from a hospital bed and get the human doctor to lie about it. I'm not sure if it's worth reading the last two books in the series. The whole thing is being drawn out for no good reason and I'm tired of seeing Nina and the guys getting beaten up, shot, knived, abducted, chained up, and so on.

Helen Scott has officially hooked me, Her Shadowed Wolves is the third book in the House of Wolves and Magic series and I loved it, I couldn't get enough. A main female character who is strong but finding her vulnerability with her mates, mates that support, protect, and value their mate with a bunch of growly possessiveness while not stopping her from being her own person. A mysterious destiny that is steeped in magic and shrouded but slowly unfolding to become something far bigger than any of them can be expected. Put everything together and you get a story that is addictive as it is compelling.

Nina and her mates have been through a lot and things aren't getting any easier, they have to make it to the Oracle to find out what she told Jax and to figure out why Nina has so many mates. It's gonna be hard to do consider Jax's obsession with Nina has only gotten worse and he has only gotten crazier and more determined than ever, sending his wolves to get her no matter the costs. Finally, there are the mysterious shadowed wolves that live on the same mountain as the Oracle and they don't tolerate outsiders which means another obstacle for them to overcome.

However, things aren't all bad the bond between Nina and her mates is growing. The love between Nina and each of the guys is touching and steamy (and I mean scenes that are fire, yas), not to mention that each of the guys are forming bonds, they-re more like brothers now, and they are truly becoming family that is willing to care for and protect each other physically as well as emotionally. Nina is strong but the emotional stress is really getting to her causing anxiety and not just for her Roman is the protective type and not just of Nina but of his brothers as well and these constant attacks are grating on him because he cares and wants to keep everyone safe. As for Micah and Blake, both are doing their part to protect and care for their little group, with Micah trying to bring a bit of laughter and Blake's concern for Nina's emotions. I love how they work together and how well the bond is coming.

Speaking of bond and mates, there's another one, his name is Tate and I liked him right away. Things went a lot smoother for him and Nina in the bond department than it did with Blake but with even more action. He fits in smoothly with the group, his personality works well with the other guys and he's a great guy who connects with Nina right away. I'm excited to get to know him better and to see his bonds with the group grow more.

This series storyline crazy, I am totally addicted and am ready for more. The mates and bond are fantastic, I love seeing those relationships and those steamy scenes are nice. Then there is Jax and his crazy. How this man is still an alpha may have been answered in this book, and I can't believe it. Jax is beyond crazy, he is on a whole new level. I wanna know what did that Oracle told him? Why is he so obsessed with Nina? How does he have all this power? He almost has this split personality thing going on and I'm starting to wonder if he's apart of this greater thing that's going on with Nina. Speaking of greater things, Nina keeps having these weird visions, with these beings that seem almost god-like, powerful, ancient, and full of magic. I still don't know who they are or what is planned for Nina but I am dying to find out more.

Her Shadowed Wolves was fantastic, full of magic, steam, wonder, wolves, mysteries, and more. There is ancient magic a play, what is Nina's destiny? What else do Nina and the guys have to face before they finally settle down and enjoy their lives? Not to mention I have a feeling that things with the shadowed wolves are far from done. Not to mention that Jax is a problem that is steadily getting out of hand and needs to be stopped. I have so many questions. I will be waiting with bated breath for the next book, Her Hidden Pack.

I am so loving this series! Book three is action packed and had me on the edge of my seat the whole read. The storyline is addictive and thrilling and suspenseful and is full of pain and heartbreak and I just could not put it down.
Nina and her mates are still running for their lives and stuff seems to get worse at every turn, well not every turn, the steam is waaaaaaaay way off the charts but time is running out! Next book please.

Nina. Roman. Micah. Blake.

They are still on the run from Jax and his pack and, now, are on their way to find the oracle that can give them some answers. Mainly, why is Jax so intent on making Nina his mate? Why does she have so many mates? Along the way we meet Tate who is, you guessed it, another one of Nina’s mates. Tate, like Blake, is part of Jax’s pack.

Aside from some weird dreams, kidnapping, and the inevitable fighting, nothing really happens to move along the story.

And I’m still waiting to learn why Nina is so special when, for me, she is mediocre at best.

Even the spice is a little boring now.

Will continue to see if it moves along more in the next book.

The isolated heroine is now collecting more guys while trying to stay away from her enemy. Trying to track down the oracle predicting the future that has led the enemy to believe she is that important. Lots of mature content and lots of fighting.

This is book three of the House of Wolves and Magic series and sees Nina and her three mates having to tackle a mountain, in search for the oracle, who can hopefully give them the answers to what they need to do next. They’ve had to wait until Nina was fit enough to travel rough, as they take their backpacks and a tent with them. They have to avoid Jax and his men, who are still on the hunt for Nina, whom Jax has fixated on and wants to force a mate bond with. They have to decide to either follow the road up most of the mountain, which will probably be watched by Jax’s men, or have to travel through the Shadow Forest, home to a reclusive group of wolf shifters, who are hostile to outsiders, especially those who spend the majority of their time as humans and will attack anyone who enters their territory. The bonds with her three mates Micah, Blake and Roman, are growing stronger, basically because she is having sex with one or more, at every opportunity!

They decide to skirt the forest, to avoid the road itself, but still come under attack and have to run into the forbidden forest to escape. Nina knows a little secret she hasn’t told her mates, the fact that she is expecting to meet two more mates! She also has some strange dreams telling her to hurry and that she needs to get to where she is going faster, or her and her mates will be in danger. Jax seems to believe he has a divine right to Nina for himself and he rules the rest of his pack by fear. He has known Nina since she was a child and knows what happened to both her parents when they voiced concern about the then alpha forcing a mating bond with a very young female, and how she also lost her brother when he tried to get her away from the pack. He is far worse than that alpha and seems to only want the power and control over others and will use evil methods to get what he wants.

Nina manages to meet her fourth mate, Tate, who was a newish member to Jax’s pack, but not one of the fanatical followers of Jax thankfully. Even knowing that Nina has fated mates of her own is of no importance to Jax, he considers them all to be insignificant in comparison to his rights to Nina! The group get forced further into the forest and come under attack by the wolf pack of the forest, seeing something they have never seen before and being totally overwhelmed. Blake has been badly injured, with an infection taking hold and they need to run away and hope to get to a hospital in time. Events occur at the hospital that make matters much worse for Nina and her mates and hard choices need to be made. She is running out of time and they haven’t even gotten anywhere, over days of trekking about the mountain. They are straight back to square one and the storyline hasn’t really progressed any further from the beginning of the book, apart from lots of hot sex and fighting with other wolves. I would have loved more of a progression with the story, yes she has met one more mate and has kept it secret that there is one more to come, obviously in the next book, but the story goes backward in their search for the oracle on the mountain. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Her Shadowed Wolves is book three in Helen Scott’s House of Wolves and Magic series. When this series began the storyline captured my attention and kept me page-turning. Book three picks up where book two left off. Nina and her men are on the run and trying to find the Oracle. Now, they must embark into territory controlled by shifters called the Shadow Wolves and avoid Jax’s wolves that he’s sending after them. As you can see by the cover of this book, a new mate will be added to the mix, and they will continue their search for answers.
Her Shadowed Wolves sadly doesn’t really see a lot of movement in the storyline. Things seem to have gotten bogged down and a bit sluggish which detracted from my enjoyment of the storyline as a whole. I honestly expected things to be further along by now and things just are moving at a snail’s pace. The characters are back in the woods searching for the Oracle and trying to avoid instigating problems with the mysterious Shadow Wolves and also trying to avoid crossing paths with the wolves Jax is sending after them for Nina.
For those who enjoy the steamy elements of these paranormal romance reverse harem novels then you’ll enjoy this book based on that aspect. There are quite a few scenes scattered without. I don’t mind them since they are part of the storyline as a whole, but when things seem to devolve to them jumping each other based on lust, jealousy, and the mate bond becoming fully established. Since they are basically on the run you’d think that at certain moments that sex should be the last thing they should be doing.
There is quite a bit of action in this book. The mysterious Shadow Wolves make an appearance, and while readers get a glimpse of them it’s not enough. Obviously these are special wolves because the fight scene really points out how unique they are in comparison to Nina and her mates. I really wanted more details and information about them. We do finally get a glimpse of the Oracle as well, but as to be expected things are shrouded in riddles.
I enjoy books by this particular author, but I feel that this series is being stretched out too much at this point. I need and want the storyline to get in gear and on track so that it becomes interesting again. The “romance” is getting a bit overdone and the storyline is bogged down. This book has its good moments, but they are too far between to rate this book higher than a rounded 4 out of 5 stars. I need some kick in this storyline, because it’s starting to struggle. I’m hopeful that the next book will be better.

The further and deeper this story goes, the more tangled it becomes.
Nina and her three mates have now only two goals - find the oracle to get all the answers, and get Blake to safety so that he could heal. None of that seems to be possible with Jax's pack hunting them so far as the Shadow pack territory, a place everyone fears. What awaits Nina there, however, is yet another mate, and this time the situation gets really complicated..
Dealing with a madman is always unpredictable, and to certain extent so is this story; the rest follows along the expectations coming out of the hints dropped at various places, scattered across the whole series. Now that we got a glimpse into the oracle's vision and prophecy, a hit that points also to some connection to Norse mythology (did anyone else feel like Havi was awfully similar to Odin?) I got really excited. The relationships in the newly forming pack also develop nicely, sometimes a bit too abruptly, but so is the nature of this series - and I definitely took some liking into it. Let's see what the next book brings.

Oh my goodness this book is full of action and fighting. I mean I was like dang, are they going to get a break. Will they find the oracle? I mean Jackson sure is determined to capture Nina to force her to mate with him. So we have Roman, Micah and Blake who are trying to protect Nina and trying to get where ever the oracle is. Only with all the fighting going on someone is badly hurt? What will they do about this? Nina is not wanting to let any of her mates go, so she will find a way to help. Then we find out that she has another mate. We will meet Tate Roque? Guess what, he is also from Jackson's pack!! So needless to say it gets steamy!! Then the guys find out some more information about Nina! Which hopefully this will all unfold in the next book. So yeah I was excited to read this book and on pins and needles for the next. If you haven't started this series then you need to. You will enjoy it.

Another thrilling, suspense packed book in the series. Nina has had more than her fair share of pain, fear, and desperation. when it comes to just wanting to find some calm, down time to spend with her new mates, she’s starting to get hopeless. Will they ever be able to just live their lives and be happy? If they can, it certainly seems like it won’t be soon. Between her old packs leader hunting her, a pack of wolves that are greatly feared, despite rarely being seen, and one or more of them constantly getting hurt, Nina isn’t sure how much longer she can go on like this. Things seem to take a sharp turn for the worst when they find themselves somewhere they shouldn’t be, with no supplies, and danger at every turn. Not to mention the strange dreams Nina has had. Add it all together, and this book is one action packed ride you won’t want to get off.

This series is absolutely killing me! I am hanging on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what is going to happen next! I definitely need more and cannot wait to see what is going to happen in the next book!

There is plenty of steam and Nina keeps getting more questions to what is actually going on. Jax is still trying to find her and is pulling out everything he can just to get her. He definitely has a sick obsession for her and isn't afraid to lose someone in his pack just to get ahold of her. While Nina and her mates are on the run she does get a few tidbits of information as to what is going on but just enough to dangle the carrot in front of her. Time is running out for her but for what I am still not sure which is killing me!

This was an incredible read that I could not put down and I am excited to see what will be next for Nina and her mates!

The plot thickens

The plot in this novel becomes ever more complicated with new things being revealed and leaving me with more questions that need to be answered.

I really enjoyed this novel and love the dynamics between the FMC and her men. Whilst it does have the steam that I know most of us love, the relationship is also so wholesome and makes my heart get the warm fuzzies.

Once again there was a semi-cliff ending because of the bajillions of questions I have about what is going to happen and the plot because I still am not 100% sure where it’s heading and in this case. it feels like a good thing.

This series is awesome, and I can’t wait for the next novel to get more answers (and probably end up with more questions).

This is book 3 in the series and you need to have read the previous books.
Nina and her mates continue to evade Jax whilst looking for he oracle- hoping to find some answers that will get Jax and his pack off their backs.
This felt a little like a filler book, it seemed to swing from fighting wolves, getting injured, sleeping in the forest and sex with her mates and back round in full circle. We don't find out any more about why Jax is so fixated with Nina, although she does have some dreams that are a little intriguing. But we do get to know the mates a lot more as they spend time together.
I'm pinning all my hopes on them finding the oracle in the next book and getting some answers about Jax and why she has multiple mates.

Nina and her men really aren't having it easy in these books. They are constantly running and looking over their shoulders for Jax and his wolves, and now they are going to cross into territory where they could die. I absolutely adore Nina, her strengths, and her vulnerabilities. There is a destiny she must fulfil, but she doesn't know everything about it yet, though others seem to know what's happening even if she doesn't.

The whole story is crazy but in a good way and I can't get enough of it. I really need to know more about Nina and her destiny, and if my assumption on who her final mate is correct or not. There's so much action from page one to the very last page. And the steam in this series is completely off the charts.

Can't wait for the next book!

Meh

Loved the first book. The second was just ok because it just kept going in circles. So I thought read the 3rd it's bound to be better. NOPE! Just more of the same going in circles. You get sex, a fight, injuries, inner monologues that the same also. Then rinse and repeat. No answers, no excitement and no emotion. Yeah the emotions are written but besides anger you don't feel them they're just words. I hate not finishing a series but I'm done. This is the only series that I have not given Scott high praise for. She is an exceptional author so I don't understand what is going on with this series but I'm disappointed.

Outstanding Story! It has so much involved with this story. Keeps you glued to the edge of your seat with anticipation. It stunningly written with magnificent characters. I absolutely love their personalities and chemistry. There was so much action in the story that I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the way it is written and how you can feel the personalities, the pain, and the happiness from the characters. The descriptions are vivid as they allow you to easily picture the circumstances that may be occurring at the time. I absolutely can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.

Blew my theories out of the water

Nina, a female wolf shifter in hiding, along with her wolf shifter mates, Roman, Micah, and Blake are on the run from the new Alpha of Nina’s former pack. As the story progresses a rock and a hard place seem to be their only options, they find themselves delving further into enemy territory, and additions to the group could be the difference between survival and death. Helen Scott’s Her Shadowed Wolves blew my theories out of the water and has me scrambling to figure out what happens next.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Her Shadowed Wolves

The story just keeps drawing you in more to see what will happen next. Nina has found four of her mates so far. Jax is getting worse in trying to capture Nina and force a mate bond but that will not happen. Nina has seen and felt the unstable part of Jax and knows he is not one of her mates. They are trying to find the oracle to find out why everything is happening. Anything and everything that can go bad, has happened to Nina and her mates. It has very described reverse harem scenes that can be skipped if you want. The book is also filled with a lot of action and suspense from the beginning to the end.

This quick release series has me hooked with the twists and turns that keep on going more secrets and surprises. Nina has been forced to adapt and grow as she gone on the run with Roman and Micah. They had some hard times and Blake was interesting development in the last book. Now we are on to the next part of the journey. To find the Oracle and why Jax is still very much obsessed with her despite her attempt to sway him away.

The journey in this instalment is probably the most dangerous so far with the wolves against her forging into the scared lands and discovering there is more to Nina still. The third instalment was the wildest ride so far and IC an't wait for more.

Nina and the guys can't catch a break! Ugh. Injured and being hunter by Jax and his wolves while trying to find the Oracle in the mysterious Shadow Forest where wolves will just kill you for trespassing, yeah super fun. But they do find times to connect with each other and it's 🥵🔥. Some scene's will make you blush lol but Nina has this connection with outside forces and we get to see a bit more in the middle of chaos that this book is. Then there's Jax who has basically become a raging lunatic. I'm excited to see if Nina completes her group in the next book!

Nina and her wolves are back and they have a plan to figure out more information. Now they have to survive and get tot he top of the mountain and find the Oracle before Jax and his men find them and make it through the forest. It was a fun great read that was hot hot as Nina and her men bond to each other more during the adventure. A few secrets are revealed and had more of a suspense mystery feel to the story. Just a fun addicting read that I come to expect from the author who delivers with the story. Loved all the new and old characters as they pop in and out.

Third book in the series and highly suggest reading in order. Nina has three of her five mates and just wants to get to the Oracle so she can finally have answers. But Jax wants her and his need has driven him mad and will stop at nothing to possess her. They will face death at every turn. Nina is beyond resilient and won’t stop. She will do anything for her mates and they will do anything for her. Lots of fighting and danger. Her relationship with her mates keeps getting hotter and they can’t ever get enough of her.

Another great book in this series, with tons of action and steam!

This is a non-stop adventure, that will have you jittery and excited the whole time. More twists to the story, and characters are revealed, but there is still so much to come.

This is a great shifter series with a lot of mystery. All the characters seem to have some damage in their parts, even the ones that hide it well. The MC is still tough as nails and is no helpless she wolf.

Poor Nina just cannot catch a break. Every time she turns around they learn something new that makes things more complicated. On top of that Jax has not lost any of his obsession with her constantly sending people after them. This just makes things all that much harder, but her along with her mates are determined to keep going no matter what. Makes for an action packed adventure that you won't be able to put down. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Wowza, this book was amazing! Her Shadowed Wolves is a great addition to the House of Wolves and Magic series. Nina and her mates continue on their journey to find the Oracle and discover more about herself. Jax is still as persistent as ever. With him and his wolves continuing to attack Nina and her men on top of the dangers on the mountain to the Oracle, there are many battles to be fought. There are also a lot of steamy moments with her and her men as their relationships continue to grow and they become closer to one another. I cannot wait to continue the series in book 4!

This 3rd installment of House of Wolves and Magic series had me hooked from the first page. There is alot of action and fighting along with Nina finding another mate. She is also having these crazy dreams and can't decipher them. Lots of trouble from Jax and his pack while they are on the search for the Oracle and Jax seeming to never give up trying to knock Nina to a subservient little female. Nina is too much her own person and already been through enough to bow down to anyone. She is so strong and independent and I love her!! I can't wait for what comes next!!
