Ooooh I knew Ransom's backstory would be good, and it was, so good! Brooding, stoic, and a little damaged, Ransom's the kind of alpha I like best - the big, hard on the outside kind with an ooey gooey inside for the ones he loves. He and his Chaos have amazing chemistry, that grumpy/sunshine vibe, and I was rooting them on so hard. Now I'm really impatient for more Happy Acres love.

Great suspense
Ransom and Willow are great together. There was a lot of suspense due to a stalker. Willow is hesitant to ask Ransom for help because she doesn't want to be seen as a victim. She tries coming up with all kinds of excuses as to what is going on because she thinks of herself as a nobody. Ransom has to convince her otherwise. It was great seeing Roth Security having a part in this book. I really enjoyed reading it. This book was sent to me by the authors for an honest review.

This is thirty-six year old, security specialist /businessman Ransom Douglas, and twenty-six year old podcaster/ baker Willow Doyle’s story line. BODYGUARD BY NIGHT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ransom and Willow) BODYGUARD BY NIGHT follows Willow Doyle and Ransom Douglas in the weeks before Willow’s sister’s wedding. Willow Doyle is currently homeless having walked out on a toxic relationship with her former roommates. Oh wow… Ransom and Chaos are perfect together. They’re flirty, they’re fun, they’re sweet, they’re swoon and they’re oh so incredible sexy. Their banter was super fun and I loved all their couple-y moments.
Even though Ransom is brooding and serious, his Chaos brought out his alpha male protective and sweet side. I adored him. While Willow was just plain fun. She brought sunshine and happiness to his life.
I really liked getting Clay and Rachel from Fiancee by Christmas (Happy Acres b.1) back along with characters from the Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn universe. Makes me want to re-read or go back to see which I’ve missed. In general I think I can sum up a Taryn Quinn book with one of their own quotes, just replace the work “room” with “book”:

Taryn Quinn takes us back to the Happy Acres world with Bodyguard by Night and it’s a dive into a bit of a romantic suspense between a free spirited influencer and an ex-military man who likes things neat and orderly. I actually really enjoyed these two different personalities and it made for hot AF intimate moments not to mention some witty banter.
When Willow realizes her roommates aren’t thrilled with her taking over the kitchen filming her segments, especially one who is downright hateful, she decides to head to upstate New York a few weeks early to help her sister prepare for her upcoming wedding. What she doesn’t expect is to realize she has someone fixated on her or her inclination to ask her soon to be brother in law’s friend, Ransom for help. I actually loved that Willow (aka Chaos) was smart enough to realize she needed help and asked for it.
Willow saw the world in two different ways, after an incident in college with a boyfriend who stalked and scared her she was super cautious about her private information so when she gets a package at her home address she knows something isn’t right. When it happens again after she arrives at her sister’s home, she knows there’s a problem. Ransom steps up to help and brings in the big guns Aiden Roth (readers of Taryn Quinn’s other series will recognize that name) of Roth securities. On the other hand Willow is open and creative and she also refuses to let this person keep her from doing what she loves and what pays her bills which of course drives Ransom mad.
Willow and Ransom learned to compromise with one another and open up to each other as they got closer, they also drove each other a bit crazy.
Interesting characters, great dialog, and a bit of intrigue; Bodyguard by Night was hard to put down.

Taryn Quinn delivered the perfect story for "Grumpasaurus" Ransom and "Chaos" Willow. It's funny, sexy and suspenseful as our couple fights an unknown stalker throughout the story. This reads as a complete standalone and while there are some spoilers for Fiancee by Christmas (Happy Acres Book 1), the authors do a great job of filling in the blanks for those who are starting with this book. But trust me, you'll want to also read the first book either way! I love Happy Acres and revisiting the farm is like coming home again. Readers familiar with Quinn's previous books (also those written under Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott) will love revisiting some past favorite characters while also meeting many new ones. The cast of characters is phenomenal and I loved them all!
Man, did I love Ransom! This ex-military bodyguard is smoking hot and you can just feel his energy radiating off the pages. He's possessive and fiercely loyal. I just wanted to give him a hug---but maybe that's b/c i wanted to feel his eight-pack (shhhhhh don't tell my hubby). Willow was wild and free and I loved her infectious happiness and excitement over her career. Both characters have dark pasts and secrets that they've long held onto but both have pushed through and moved on as best they could. When Willow is threatened by an unknown online stalker, Ransom steps in to be her bodyguard and these two become super close. Their chemistry is strong and these two burn up the pages throughout the story. I loved watching them fall in love as their walls were broken down.
There's so much to love about this story and I can't wait for the next story, Forever By Morning. I can't wait to see how this one plays out after the teaser at the end of this story. In the meantime, grab Bodyguard by Night and enjoy the fun! 5 stars

When she goes home to Happy Acres early for her sister's wedding, Ransom finds out why and calls in a favor to try to keep her safe. He also has her "move into his attic" so he can keep an eye on her.

Their chemistry is explosive and sudden, and *whew* steaming HOT. As always, the intimate bits seem like a natural extension to the story, rather than being shoehorned into it, and the world-building that Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott have mastered sucks you right in (as always!)

Love Me Some Chaos & Grumpasaurus (Willow & Ransom)
Love, Love Loved Bodyguard By Night (Happy Acres Book 2) by The Amazing Taryn Quinn (AKA Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott). Willow & Ransom's story had me intrigued from chapter 1 until the end of the epilogue.
I also loved that Taryn Quinn (Quinn & Elliott) gave us a glimpse inside Roth Defense and more of Aiden Roth (a character from Quinn & Elliott's Rockstar World). Plus a few characters from Taryn Quinn's Crescent Cove Series.
I highly recommend this book. It was my most anticipated eyeball read of this year.

Wow - these authors - their books! I love how they have created little areas/worlds that personally I wish I could visit, and connect some characters, but still can be read as standalones.
I loved Ransom and Willow so much. This book had everything and more. Willow has a stalker and Ransom is going to help his friend's new sister-in-law and protect her. I didn't want their story to end. These two together had me swooning, laughing, and loving to they very end!!!

This second installment to this new series did not disappoint! Willow and Ransom had me hooked on their story from start to finish. The chemistry between the pair was great and I enjoyed getting a glimpse into seeing where this series can go in the future. I also enjoyed the appearance of characters from other series by this dynamic duo in this read. Overall this was a great read that I would recommend to others.

After an unknown person starts to interfer into influencer Willow's life, grumpy Ransom feels that he's the one person who can protect her. As the two find themselves together 24/7, a growing passion builds between them. I love Willow's and Ransom's story and it's a great addition to the Happy Acres series!

Making me one happy reader, I just finished BODYGUARD BY NIGHT, the second book in the Happy Acres series by the lovely and talented authors that write as Taryn Quinn. My love of these ladies and their books is no secret, and this one is absolutely another tick in my 'forever favorite' column.
Besides Crescent Cove, also created by these lovelies, Happy Acres is one of my favorite places to visit, and my love of the place goes way back. With the arrival of this new batch of characters, related to the folks that we know and love from the Oblivion gang, it becomes more and more a happy place for me.
I would say that romantic suspense is one of my go-tos, and the ladies have done an awesome job of infusing this both scorchingly hot and heart-melting story with plenty of the intrigue that rounds things out perfectly.
Ransom. Just, oh my goodness. One of my absolute favorite TQ men to come down the pike (NOTE: To be fair, I say that about all of their guys, so...). Gruff, a bit damaged, but with so much more to him that this. This is the guy that I would want looking out for me, and Willow couldn't be in better hands. And Willow. 'Chaos' may be the perfect nickname for her, but, truly, these two balance each other out in the most perfect of ways, like when two pieces of a puzzle click together to make the perfect "one."
I've said it before, but it bears repeating. Every time that I read a book by Taryn and Cari, I am struck by how well these two work as a unit, and their words show that. It's one of the reasons that I will always, always make time for their books, and that they continually end up among my favorite reads.
So, do I love BODYGUARD BY NIGHT? Yes, I absolutely do. It had me from the first page, and is one of those books that I wish could go on and on. I can't wait for the next trip to Happy Acres, and know that the wait will be well worth it. Romance lovers, don't miss this book, and, for goodness sake, if you haven't jumped into the world of Taryn Quinn, do it. You will not be sorry. ❤️

Ransom and Willow fall hard and as the reader I was enamored by these two!!!
Taryn Quinn strikes again with Happy Acres being the main event in this series. Ransom and Willow appeared in the previous book and you absolutely knew there was so much more to their story. In Bodyguard by Night you delve into Willow’s character and what truly motivates her. She is amazingly talented and bubbly. She paves her own way and is fierce in her passions. Taryn Quinn seriously writes female leads that are so full of life you can’t help but be in awe with their sass and intelligence. Ransom was such a brooding silent man in the previous book that there was always going to be someone that cracked his hard exterior. And boy oh boy did Willow take Ransom on a wild ride.
From start to finish, I was enamored with these two characters. The heat in their fighting definitely made their love that much more real. The aspect that totally had me going was the suspense aspect of the story. I wanted to know how that part was going to unfold and therefore I could not put the book down. Each chapter was detailed and forged the story forward perfectly. The intertwining of Ransom and Willow was so organic in the sense that they were drawn to each other and yet they fought their attraction and just couldn’t resist each other. Now that makes for a beautiful read. I am glad that The Mannings, The Ronsons and the Doyles are coming to life on the page because they have played an integral role in all the stories that have come before. Ow we delve into Happy Acres and the characters that bring the orchard to life.
And there is more, more to this series, more to these men that will fall hard for their ladies. And more love in the air. Loved this book.

Bodyguard by Night is the second book in the Happy Acres series and is the story of Ransom and Willow, Rachel’s sister from book one.
I really enjoyed this couple’s story. The characters are engaging and likeable and Willow in particular is very charismatic. I loved the way their attraction came out of the blue and took them both by surprise. On the surface they were so very different, each with a personality which had the potential to rub the other the wrong way. However, they very quickly realised that there was a real spark between them and although their relationship grew quickly, for me it was written in a way that for the most part felt real and natural. The chemistry between them was smoking and quite frankly, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. There are a lot of fantastic spicy times, which these authors write so well, and their bedroom, shower, dressing room, shenanigans are sure to get you hot under the collar.
There is a suspense thread running through the story by way of a mystery stalker who has become obsessed with Willow but for the most part, the story focuses on Ransom and Willow and their building relationship. For me, the way that mystery and intrigue was dealt with in the end fell a little flat.
Although each book focuses on a different couple, and whilst not strictly necessary, as it’s part of an interconnected series I believe I was more invested in the story having read book one. Once again, these authors have given us an entertaining story of love, loyalty, friendship and family and I can’t wait to read more about this cast of colorful characters.

This one focuses on Willow (aka Chaos) and Ransom. Willow is a social media influencer with a huge following. She's famous for making recipes easier for people to do with shortcuts. She has to film in her apartment kitchen but one of her roommates is tired of her taking up so much space that Willow decides to move out and go back home. She was planning on leaving in a few weeks to help her sister get ready for her wedding, she just moved the timeframe up a bit. To help push her out, she's also been getting some interesting trolls on her social media pages and she's worried there might be something more to it. She was stalked when she was in college and is very concerned it's happening again, just by someone new.
Ransom is Clay's best friend. Clay is marrying Rachel who is Willow's sister. Willow ends up driving all night to get to Happy Acres. I have been looking forward to Ransom and Willow's story ever since their characters were introduced in Fiancee by Christmas and what a great story it is! If you haven't read the first book in the Happy Acres series it is okay because Bodyguard by Night really does stand alone. Willow is definitely a force to be reckoned with, so much so that Ransom has given her the nickname of Chaos! Willow has a problem with a social media stalker that has been giving her unwanted attention in cyber space. When she starts having issues with her roommates, Willow heads out to visit her sister sooner that expected. When Ransom hears about her stalker issues he and she both agree that staying with him is the smart decision while her sister prepares for her upcoming wedding. What neither of these two opposites expect is that as the danger swirls around Willow and increases that they get closer and closer to each other until their sparks turn into a full blown flame! Happy Acres better batten down the hatches because Ransom will turn this town upside down to protect the woman who has finally melted and captured his heart. Bodyguard by Night was told from dual POV and is suspenseful, sweet, wrapped around heat and underneath it all is an explosive amount of love!

After how much I loved the first book in this series, I was really hopeful that the second book would live up to my expectations as well. And boy did it!! Ransom was someone I was extremely curious about from the previous book. Not a lot was known about him, but I wanted to know everything! And I loved everything that we learn about him! He is the perfect definition of the strong silent type, but he is the kind that you always love. He is protective and bossy but he has this sweet side to him that I didn't really expect, and that made me love him even more. Willow (AKA Chaos) has been through a lot but she never really lets it drag her down. She deals with her problems head on while never letting them steal her light and happiness. And I loved that about her! She isn't afraid to ask for help when she needs it but she always seems to have a way to rise above everything. They have this instant attraction to each other but they also have these great interactions that make you not want to put the book down. I loved that this book has tie-in's to these author's other series as well! I love all of their books and the fact that they are interconnected just makes me love them more! I can't wait to see where else this series will take us!

**I received this ARC in exchange for a honest voluntary review** 3.5 stars for the second story set in Happy Acres. While I enjoyed this suspenseful, rom com, the MCs took off with their relationship quick, fast & in a hurry. They didn't even have a dating experience together bc of the forced situation of a cyber-stalker who's after Willow. That situation in itself was on a good pace yet was quickly wrapped up in the last chapter. But even then we don't get any background as to why it happened, just that it wasn't the first occurrence for the suspect. In other words, all that build up to the climax & it was a let down. Willow was an annoyance that loved living in denial of her situation. Understandably, she wasn't gonna live in fear but her stupidity & impulsivity was on another level. Another point that bothered me was the vernacular of some of the characters. It's beginning to grate & be repetitive as to the way these characters are speaking as there's not much difference between phrasing. For example, so many times the phrase, "Is that right?" is spoken. 9 times to be exact. On another note, more beautiful world building & connections along with the addition of new secondary characters as well as past favorites round out this book.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Happy Acres is my favourite fictional place. The cast of characters, and the ever present orchard serve as a backdrop for the sweetest, most comforting setting. Every time Laverne shows herself on the page, I get a huge smile on my face - that woman is peace, love and comfort and she’s truly the soul of her small town.
Willow and Ransom had my heart from their first interaction in Fiancé by Christmas. Ransom is stoic and reserved with a deep sense of loyalty that makes him an absolute rock to those around him. And when Willow finds herself in trouble, he’s who she goes to for help even though their clash of personalities have led to friction in their few interactions.
Chaotic and wild, their love story is born of overcoming a stressful situation and building a deep trust in one another. Their common ground is built on passion, for their work, for each other and for their families and friends. So completely different, but rooted with the same values, theirs is a bond anyone would be lucky to find.
I absolutely loved their story. It is a new favourite that I will revisit again and again.

We were introduced to Ransom and Willow in the first book in the series. Ransom was Clay's bodyguard, but since Clay is now engaged to Rachel and has moved from NYC to Turnbull in upstate New York he has now retired and is building furniture.
Willow is Rachel's sister who makes a living as a hack baker podcaster. Her roomies are getting tired of her and she decides to go upstate to be with her sister to help her plan and get ready for her wedding that is only weeks away. Plus she has an awful feeling she is being stalked again when she received a strange package. So she packs most of her belongings and heads North.
Ransom and Willow have met before and it didn't go well. He is way too grumpy and she is VERY possessive of her sister. But who can she go to when she realizes that her stalker has struck again? Yup the grumpy security dude.
I fell in love with Ransom. As grumpy and sarcastic as he is, he turned out to be a really cool guy. He does everything in his powers to protect Willow and some how fell in love with her.

O-M-Geeeee! I just knew when Ransom fell he would fall hard and fast! When Willow received a packaged and it was the last straw for her roommates she packed up her car and headed to Happy Acres a little early for her sister's wedding. When Ransom finds out what happened he calls in a favor with Aidan, a security guru who has been trying to recruit him to work for him, and when they find out what is going on he quickly moves her into his house. On the trip back to NYC to get the rest of her stuff and to meet with Aidan close quarters set off their chemistry and that first kiss ramps up and before you know it Wil AKA Chaos is no longer going to take over the attic. Will they find the stalker before the wedding and they have to tell the family what is going on or will the stalker go to far. This one was great and I cannot wait to find out where this series goes!

Ransom, aka Grumpasaurus, is ex military and very much likes his life neat and clean. He enjoys his alone time and is just figuring out if this is his place to settle.
When Willow realizes she needs help with a possible stalker she goes to Ransom.
As these two try to figure out who the stalker is, they must also figure out how far their attraction will take them.
You'll have characters from previous books make an appearance. There is a bit of suspense as the stalker ups the antenna.
