Jax has intrigued me since the first book in this series. Now it’s his turn and I was not disappointed. Jax has had his problems and worked hard to overcome them, even doing a stint in rehab. Being a bodyguard has led him into many dangerous and difficult situations. Now, he faces the test of his life. How can he save Chelsea when she’s kidnapped in Mexico while on a church mission? It’s one thing to do your job, it’s another thing when someone you care deeply about goes missing, and he was the guard in charge of her safety.
If you like suspense, and trust me when drug lords are involved there will be suspense, if you like romance with conflict, if you like reading a fiction that’s all too very real, then you’ll like this book. Faith will be tested while temptation is around every corner.
I was given an advance copy of this book and am leaving this review of my personal thoughts and opinions
T.K. Chapin has hit it out of the park with this story, his "Protected by Love" series, and any other of his gazillion books out there!! If you're looking for a suspenseful Christian Romances, T.K. Chapin gets the job done. I am so grateful I found his stories. God has truly blessed him with amazing writing talent! Check it out! You won't be disappointed...also, check out "The Potter's House" series. It's approximately 21 books from multiple authors. This is how I learned of T.K's talent!! Kudos, T.K! Keep those stories coming!!
This was my favourite of the 3 books in this series Protected by Love. I couldn’t put it down. It tells of Chelsea a young Christian who goes to Mexico for missionary work. A bodyguard Jax who has lost his way is sent to guard her. As we witness the birth of a relationship there is also the excitement of local gangsters and without spoiling it involves a kidnapping. My heart broke towards the end but it was such an exciting book - would recommend the set.
I always enjoy this authors books because they are both inspirational and hope filled. Secondly they address real problems we face in this world as Christians
Watching Jax A mission trip, a bodyguard and an abduction, a story of Gods sovereignty and grace. This story is about a missions trip that changes lives forever. I loved the themes of redemption, a life of service, and hope because God meets us where we are.
This was a page turner. A few not so believable things … no one says you’re right. Not that often! As unlikely I felt the end of Mexico trip would have been still very good. Great balance between God, romance and suspense! Only to find out I read the 3rd book of the series! Sigh I’ll have to go back and read about Winston. I have one solid bone to pick TK Chapin… the book was only 150 pages. I mean sir please make it longer.
WOW - JUST WOW He’s been hired to watch over a woman when she goes to Mexico on a missions trip. And it becomes easy as he falls for her. Until she is kidnapped — and he as NO idea where she is. THIS book - God’s grace and love shine through in spite of all that happens!!! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
This is a very interesting and inspiring story. Jax overcame a problem he had by turning to God. It is so impressive to see him work through this problem with God's help. Also, Chelsea is faced with something she never expected while doing mission work. This is a very good story.
I am really loving this series. Jax and Chelsea overcome thru God’s help and grace.
I don’t know where to start or have adequate words to describe how much I loved this story. I love how T.K. lets us know how wonderful God is to us and how He works all things together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.
This was truly a wonderful story of God's love and divine intervention when things go wonky. The trials we all go through have a definite purpose in the plans that God has for us.
I know we are told to go and tell the world about God and very bad things can and do happen to Christians like they did to Jesus. It takes great faith to become a missionary In my opinion. Happy this story had a happy ending.
This book was so good except for the ending. I thought it ended to quickly. It was summed up in a few paragraphs and I felt as good as the book was deserved more. I was disappointed that it did not have more at the end.
In this book you will read about the dangers that you can meet on a mission trip, fighting the urge to drink and the joy of the people who were helped. Chelsea and Jax story is truly inspiring. The challenges they face will have you turning the pages of this book to see what happens next.
An excellent book! I enjoyed the suspenseful parts of the storyline. I always am encouraged by the scriptures and the characters' relationships with God that T. K. includes.
This is another great book by T. K. Chapin. This third book in this series continues to weave a full Gospel message together with realistic characters. He has included plenty of suspense and reality in this whole series.
This one was almost more realistic than I wanted. But the main lesson is that only God can truly protect us in this world and sometimes He allows things in life that are not pleasant, but He protects us even through those difficult times. The world is a sinful place and human nature is sinful; how wonderful it will be when Christians are taken out of the world to spend eternity with Him. This is a wonderful book, as we are accustomed to getting from Mr. Chapin. Good Christian principals, good examples of what God can do in our lives when we rely on Him, good lessons about life for missionaries in unsettled locations, wonderful, realistic characters learning to trust God with everything. It is a wake-up call to pray for missionaries and others we know who are struggling spiritually.
I requested this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.
