This charming book was written in honor of loving dads everywhere. It consists of five
1. The book begins with how to say Dad in 18 languages. Then there are eight poems to Dad.
2. The 17 recipes provide instructions for things as simple as hot cocoa to multiple suggestions for burgers and make–your–own pizzas. There are vegetarian, keto, and vegan options as well.
3. The Fun Projects section offers 10 clever ideas for making inexpensive things as diverse as a natural mosquito trap, a bird house, and tin foil boats.
4. The Coupons section provides eight coupons that a child can cut out and give to Dad. Offerings include a bear hug, a back rub, a drawing, a chore done without complaining, and more.
5. The Personalized Pages at the end are for each child in the family to fill out. The heartwarming headings include such wording as “My favorite thing about Dad is…” and “If I could give Dad anything in the world, I would give him…” There is even a space provided for each child’s handprint. These pages could be copied and given to the children again a year or two later, to see how their answers might vary with increased maturity.
This wonderfully original collection is sure to delight loving parents and children alike, providing them with a multitude of fun indoor and outdoor activities.
As a dad myself I really appreciated some of the poems in this book. They were beautifully written and I can see the love that the author has for her own dad. The recipes are great as well and sound intriguing especially the Slower Cooker Breakfast Casserole. That sounds really yummy and I’m seriously considering doing that myself. The activities are great to do whether you are a mum or dad. Some of them I’ve already tried like the family photo puzzle. The massage oil maker is a good idea. That would have been useful for me the other day when I almost did my back in taking rubbish to the tip. I definitely recommend this for all dads and mums alike.

If you read the author's other book, Ode to Mom, this book is written in much the same way, only the focus is on, you guessed it, dads. With poems dedicated to dads. Crafts dads can do alone or with their little ones. Recipes for little ones to make for dad like milkshakes and ideas for dad on how to change up some of his favorite foods. And just like Feather Chelle's other book, my favorite part are the coupons kids can give to dad to cash in whenever he wants and the section the kids can make something special just for dad. With Father's Day on the horizon, this is a great book for your little one to give to their superhero.
I did like the recipes and poetry in the book. I would say replace the cards for fathers in the book with more poetry. The only poem I did not like was the Rock one, as I feel that can be controversial based on a person's beliefs. This book would have gotten five stars if there were more poems for dads. When you read through this book you'll understand what I mean about the shift from the poems to the recipes. It is kind of abrupt, especially when the author had a good flow going for the book with the poems. I will admit that the recipes are invaluable for fathers and other people to know.
"Ode to Dad" is a heartfelt collection of poetry that explores the multi-faceted nature of fatherhood through diverse poetic forms. The sonnets and limericks especially stand out, offering captivating rhythms and clever wordplay. Each poem serves as a unique tribute to fathers, encapsulating their strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. The beauty of this collection lies in its relatability, as it resonates with readers who see facets of their fathers mirrored in the verses. A compelling read, and also some awesome food recipes!
This book is so freaking cute and perfect. I'm always trying to figure out cool things my husband and our boys can do together(without the mess) or nice meals to surprise him with and this book has all that and more. Definitely keeping this in my library to look back on for more ideas.
This is really amazing! I love the recipes. I like that there were options to change them up. A few could even be changed to Keto. So cool! The Banana Split one sounds so good! I like the activities. And the couplings are cute. This would be a great gift for das from the kids.
Poetry, recipes, coupons, and activity sheets make this a must-have for father's day, birthday, or Christmas. The food and beverage recipes can be made year round.
I loved the non foodie idea too. Favorite was picture puzzle because we've been constructing puzzles to beat the heat.

At the beginning of this book I thought this deserves 5 stars. Things that Ode said about his/her father can teach an absent father how to be a good father. But then the book changed into a cook book.
A great little book that includes poems, recipes, and projects to help guide and encourage all dads everywhere who are struggling to be the best dad they can be when apart.
What a wonderful read. Besides the coupons and poetry, you will also find a ton of recipes for meals, drinks and fun activities for you to share with your dad. Great idea, I’m glad I stumbled upon this one.
This is a great way to show your dad how you feel about him. There are different types of poems, recipes, coupons and more. This is makes a great gift for families.
