A female book club wants to take what is on the page into their bedrooms.
When a group of eight South Florida women form a book club in the ultra-posh neighborhood of Sunrise Intracoastal, the selections often take them into the depths of erotic romance. But Jessica Esposito is more interested in having sex than reading about it. And being the beautiful accessory to her wealthy husband, forty years her senior, isn’t cutting it. Realizing she’s not the only one in the club desperate for some fun, she assembles a group of young, hot guys in need of cash, and a way to get ahead.
Soon, the women are having their every fantasy fulfilled at their unknowing husbands’ expense. But not all the men they attract are who they claim to be. When the corporation headed by Jessica’s husband becomes embroiled in a contentious takeover bid and a famous pop star turns up dead at a party they attend, the secrets of South Florida spill into the water, forcing Jessica to discover who is divulging the information that’s putting her marriage—and her life—in danger.
I loved the cover of this book, that is what made me want to read it. However, I almost gave up on this book, it was all over the place. It had everything it needed in making it a great story, murder, book club but not really a book club, love triangle, and bad business mistakes.
I decided to push through and felt the story picked up when I was about 60% in, so I stayed with it. I have a lot of questions that I didn't feel got explained like the mystery lady with secret, was that a test? Did the main character Jeesica suppose say what she said?
Jessica is married to a wealthy man twice her age, she met when she was working for casino. They seem to have this mutual love for each other but nothing more I think, I am guessing because the back story there is missing. She and a group of wealthy women decide to take their book club to the next level and start a male escort service. What could go wrong??? But in the mix of her putting this escort business together crazy things started happening with her husband's business. There was too much information given on holding companies, blah blah. Basically, he was in bed with some bad people, I am guessing again.
I think what was missing is depth of the story, I didn't feel a connection to Jessica. Why does she believe sex is the only way she can feel loved., and again I am guessing because her back story is just bits and pieces throughout the story.
I think this author has the potential to be a good writer, however what women want is more of Pedro, that feeling.
Thank you to NetGalley for gifting me this book for my honest review.
Even though I’m not a great fan of erotica, I decided to give Club Sunrise as try. I’m glad I did.
What I liked about this novel is that it wasn’t all erotica. There’s some nice romance, and even a mystery. The plot twists are built in at the right moments that make for an engaging read that isn’t purely erotic activity driven. Author, Suriano has managed to compile that right amounts of erotica, mystery and romance in an attractive package.
There isn’t much to not like about Club Sunrise except that I didn’t much care for the multiple partner scenes.
Overall, a pretty masterful read that made me rethink my opinions toward erotic novels. Four outstanding stars.
I received a digital copy of the novel from BooksGoSocial. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
I really liked the cover of this novel. I am one for reading about these kind of novel ideas however it was the women for me that I could not really tolerate. There wasn’t much to the characters. Novels are about having characters that are either strong or have a decent personality which is shown throughout the novel. That is what makes a book go from meh to great. The sex scenes were many however they didn't last too long - that could be someone's personal choice but I would rather lot of dialogue in my sex scenes
I have been trying to figure out what I didn't like about this book. I am a strong believer that if you have erotica that is not a novella - I think a decent backstory needs to be added. I found sex or sex adjacent occurrence happens pretty much on page one with little context of the characters and their stories. I found the story a little disjointed with the scandal, the prostitution ring start-up, and the relationship with her husband - I was lost a lot of the time. ' The sex scenes were many however they didn't last too long - that could be someone's personal choice but I would rather lot of dialogue in my sex scenes
Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. At first, I was hooked on the plot since Jessica, our main character did have some personality in her. She seems smart and uses her brain enough. But, halfway through it, I lost the plot. This writing turns into a mess when trying to tangle Al’s company problem. I don't understand shit. But it’s okay though. Jessica also suddenly lost her two brain cells toward the end.
Why the fuck does she refuse the inheritance? Why did she choose her employee, aka the yacht captain? Pedro is so sus why he is so happy at the end? Why she does not know her own mother in law lol. Why did she eat the evidence??? AYO I am getting a headache.
The writing is okay, although there are some parts that are over-explain or have no explanation at all. Have the potential to be good so I said that this book is partially slay. The erotic scenes maybe 11 OR MORE (I start counting in the middle of the book because I am surprised with how many are.)
Overall, it is a good read for me and I would recommend this to erotica fans (threesome scene SPOILERS!!) but it did not slay me off my feet. The book can be shortened though, half of the scene did not contribute to the plot so…. If it was done right, it would be a quick and fun read.

Jessica is living the good life. She's married to an older millionaire who gives her a monthly $75,000 allowance. All she has to do is look pretty and occasionally sleep with him. However, Jessica is tired of being under his thumb. She forges a plan to cater to the other millionaire's wives around her - the women who are under their own husbands' thumb. Jessica creates Club Sunrise, a "catering" company of young men for the women. Once the business takes off, Jessica finds herself and her husband in a tricky situation. A big deal in the entertainment industry is dead and people are after her husband. Has Jessica done something wrong? Did she unknowingly give out information to the people after her husband?
This book was interesting and drew me in from the first chapter. I was wanting to see what Jessica was going to do and how the business was going to work out. I was surprised at the murder and even more surprised when the issues came up with her husband. I'm only giving this three stars because Jessica just wasn't the most likable character and I felt like the suspense felt kind of forced at times.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Jessica Esposito, bored trophy wife of a prominent Miami businessman, decides to take her book club's erotic reads from fantasy to reality....but things quickly go bad as her new business venture and her husband's established business both receive unwanted attention.
This one jumps right into the steamy stuff and initially it's interesting. It's definitely a different take on the lives of trophy wives than I've seen before. I also liked that there was a serious story line to blend with all the sex, but at some point I felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be-- there wasn't really enough to the investigation to be a mystery, but there was definitely way too much investigation to be erotica and the sex was WAY too descriptive to be romance so it was a little all over the place for me. I also found a lot of the sex scenes had some pretty cringey language that are really distracting. To be fair, I'm sure it's hard to find verbiage for that stuff that no one would find cringey.
Overall I just didn't love it, but I would highly recommend it for people who like Colleen Hoover because I feel like the sex to story ratio is the same.
If you like hot steamy books than this one’s for you your perfect holiday read.
Jessica Esposito is living the dream with her luxury mansion, cash in the bank, flash cars . She is married to Al who is many years older than her. Jessica realises that there is something missing from the lives of her friends and herself so she starts a bookclub with a difference. The women that will not only get to read the steamy romances that they get to live it with the hunky guys that are installed in the club. With everyone sworn to secrecy with a nondisclosure agreement.
I was enjoying this book and the twists and turns that came with it however I did feel that towards the end of the book the author almost got bored and was in a rush to tie up the storylines. I would’ve liked to have seen more detail to the ending. But if you just want to sexy novel without a backstory then you’ll love this one.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to see an ARC
Unsure. I finished this book last night. I didnt write my review right away because I'm not sure what it was about this book. I LOVED the idea of a book club disguised sex club. Love the idea of a woman searching for her own. Her own power, her own money, her own respect. Jessica is a woman who married an older rich man who is searching for power, sex and respect. When she forms this book/sex club, she has no idea what is in store for her and her husband in the future. People aren't always who they say they are, and sex isn't always just sex.
I'm not really sure I liked the ending. With the option of more power and money in front of her, why not take it? But nevertheless, it was a quick read for me. I'd read more from this author if given the opportunity. Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me an advanced read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing a free copy in exchange of an honest review. Honestly I have no words because I don’t get what this book is supposed to be about. The blurb didn’t match the plot and the plot was all over the place. It just felt so confusing? And I have so many questions because the writing is too convoluted. And the questions were unlikeable at all. I do find Jessica our protagonist interesting but she’s so dumb and that’s where she lost me. I don’t like cheaters but I do understand that the rich and famous life has a lot of this and yeah I can turn a blind eye and ignore. Unfortunately again our heroine is so stupid and I just don’t get it. Anyway the ending does make sense in the end but it just feel so anticlimactic. Giving this two stars since I did finish the book after all.
Club Sunrise by James Suriano is one of the greatest erotica novels I have read to date. With plenty of back story for the main characters, a mystery/crime story line that will leave you discombobulated at the end with so many tid bits of information sprinkled throughout that when you finish the novel you realise you should have figured it all out from the start. In relation to the erotic fiction sprinkled into this novel, James Suriano knew exactly what I wanted from this novel & truly took me along on the journey of Club Sunrise. Absolutely loved this book & hope to see more future best sellers from James Suriano soon.
This book took me about 20% in to really get into the story. It was just world and story building that took me a minute to follow. Once I had it figured out I became entranced by every twist and turn. I was waiting to see what would happen next. I did want a little more closure with a couple of the characters but don’t want to spoil anything. This was probably the most original book I’ve read all year. Would make a great beach read for anyone who likes a little mystery and suspense but still a light read overall.
I was totally down for the plot but my god, this was BORING.
I was literally skimming through it the entire time cause I couldn't be bothered to read it.
I'm sorry but I didn't like this book at all. I just liked the "plot" and the blurb that was given but the actual contents were lazy and felt over the place. Too much chaos and there was nothing concrete in the book.
I'm just wondering if this is what it takes to publish a book, ANYBODY can get anything published.
Well, the story is actually not bad... but there is a lot of information, and you really need to pay attention to get all the little details.
Some of the business technicalities I didn't understand and left me confused and annoyed. But after having finished the novel, I actually think it is a quite clever story, and it will make a very interesting film one day...
As for the erotic side of the novel - well, yes - there is a lot of sex in it, but it is not at all what I would call erotica.
I love it when the macabre is balanced with a bit of humor and outlandishness. This novel did not disappoint in that regard. The fact that there's a spicy element made reading this story even more enjoyable. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is it was a little slow out of the gate. I wasn't pulled in right away. Once things got going, it was hard to put down, but it took a while to get there. If you pick this one up, don't give up on it too soon! It's worth the wait to the "good stuff'!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately, Club Sunrise wasn't the book for me. The storyline was really difficult to follow & couldn't hold my interest. I really loved the cover of the book. But as they always say, "don't judge a book by its cover."
Not what I was expecting, but pleasantly surprised with this one! A little bit “Fifty Shades of Grey” mixed in with some financial crime & mystery! Set in Fort Lauderdale & the Bahamas, “Club Sunrise” is a perfect summer escape.
While I really wanted to like this book being from South Florida myself and love a good erotica book, it just didn’t do it for me. I wasn’t really able to connect with the characters and it took me a while to get through the story.
I wanted more depth and backstory from the characters and relationships. Some of the writing was disjointed and could get confusing as well. I found some of the sex scenes uncomfortable as well - specifically between Jessica and Al.
I absolutely fell in love with the cover, however not so much with the book. I felt like I couldn’t keep up. I don’t know if it was the fact that I didn’t care for Jessica or that the book was all over the place.
I tried to finish this one but I DNF it. It was getting too gross and creepy for my taste. This is basically the glorification of prostitution and if the main character wasn't a woman but a man it would be truly outrageous how someone could write this kind of stuff.
Nice mix of sex, intrigue, sex, murder, and sex – if that’s what you are looking for. Well written with beautiful descriptions. I hope another book is coming soon – no pun intended.
Not quite my cup of tea. There wasn't really much of a plot development. It all just kind of happened. Would have liked to see more of the character's build instead of just completing actions.

Thank you to Netgalley for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Although the description and the cover are very appealing, unfortunately the plot didn't do it for me. My expectations were partially met since it's a fun, light read, but the story's unfolding wasn't well executed and the writing was odd at times.
