“Search Beyond Lies” is one of those rare reads that captures the reader’s interest from the start and never let’s go.
The sudden disappearance of an experienced survivalist and military veteran (Brett) during a routine hike leaves his close friend (James), and the protagonist in this story, conflicted by the conclusion that Brett perished in an accidental death.
Convinced that his friend is not dead, James joins forces with an emotionally wounded former Army Ranger and current Search & Rescue professional, Charlie ( a woman James is immediately smitten with).
As they work together to follow the trail of clues left for James by Brett, it becomes clear that their is a high stakes, conspiracy with the potential of deadly consequences at stake. With the clock ticking James and Charlie must follow the trail to rescue Brett, and perhaps find their own happy ending.
An exciting tale of friendship, faith and perseverance, with a touch of romance!

Search Beyond Lies offers a realistic glimpse into mountain Search and Rescue. I loved the descriptions of the Rocky Mountains giving the reader a chance to experience the beauty of nature as the mystery drives the search. The relationship between the James and Charlie grows naturally as their hearts heal, working together to pool their respective experience resources in determining each step. Hints are woven in seamlessly throughout the story leading to interesting twists and turns. A very adventurous read!

If I could give this book 10 stars, I absolutely would. The writing and story captivate you and keep you reading until you finish the story. It has everything you need and want in a book - romance, suspense, true friendship, and a dog (don't worry it doesn't die at the end). The descriptions are so realistic you can easily picture where you are, and the characters are so well written and developed you feel as if you are lifelong friends with James, the main character, in his search for his friend Brett. I cannot wait for the next book in the series and hope to read more of their adventures

I *really* enjoyed this book! It took me on an adventure such that when I reluctantly put it down, I couldn’t wait to get back to it. There’s a little bit of everything in this story – strong characters, the best friend a person could wish for, mountain climbing adventure, a hidden bunker, a cute puppy, a puzzle to solve, clues to follow, and a bit of romance sprinkled in. I loved how Karen was able to capture the essence of the scene in a few words so that I could really envision it – I felt like I was there. I definitely recommend this book!

Search Beyond Lies was filled with just the right about of intrigue, suspense and romance. The description of the Rocky Mountains and the search and rescue mission were very interesting and the interpersonal relationships between the characters kept me at the edge of my seat. Loved that it had a mostly happy ending. Can't wait to read the book in the series!
