Cassie Howell, recovering compulsive liar, is no stranger to tragedy. But after the hardest loss of her life at the hands of revenge-seeking vampires, she can't see how things could possibly get any worse.
Then, they get worse.
A mysterious stranger from the land of Faerie comes calling, bearing a the mystical land, bonded to earth through magic, is in total upheaval. Soon, snowflakes are falling on downtown Tampa. In summer. And that's just the beginning of Cassie's troubles...
Robert J. Crane was born and raised on Florida's Space Coast before moving to the upper midwest in search of cooler climates and more palatable beer. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English Creative Writing. He worked for a year as a substitute teacher and worked in the financial services field for seven years while writing in his spare time.
Cassie has her fair share of long nights and back to back challenges so you know with a title like this, it’s going to be a crazy all-nighter.
Book 7 left on a real cliff hanger following Xandra’s funeral. Or would that be a grave climber? What would happen once Cassie came face to face with the newly transformed vampire version of her best friend?
But that couldn’t possibly be enough of a struggle. Let’s throw in some family issues, some faerie drama, a bit of catastrophic weather, and maybe the end of the world for good measure. With all of the action I could not put this book down.
I'm thoroughly addicted to this series and I'm very fussy. I will be very sad when I have finished them as I have gotten very attached to the characters. This is something the author does that is head and shoulders above the rest. Authors can sometimes forget character development or there is no real, likeable characters to begin with. I also love the sense of humour between the group and how they back each other. There is always something interesting happening and poor Cassie ends up with nights with no sleep.
Just when I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep reading this series, another couple twists were thrown and I’m back in and awaiting the next book. Kudos, Mr. Crane.
