The Signal is a weapon. The invasion isn’t over.

With most of Earth’s population under the Stalkers’ control, finding a way to free humanity is vital. Atlas Donovan is on the front lines, distributing the cure, but the Crawlers remain everywhere, and the threat of re-infection is a dark cloud hanging over the planet. The solution might lie deep below the ground where the aliens have united for a common purpose—to breed.

Still reeling from a close friend’s death, Lennon is tasked with another mission: to destroy a massive alien nest lurking beneath the ice in Greenland, but infiltrating it will not be easy, and surviving may be the hardest thing she’s ever done.

At the same time, David is on an intercept course with a second enemy ship. If he succeeds, Earth will stand a chance, but if he fails, the planet will be inundated by yet another alien horde.

The Stalkers seek to steal the Signal from the enigmatic leader of the Association. The object is a weapon; a quantum communicator with the power to unite the enemy’s entire fleet, and if that happens, all will be lost.

With the odds stacked against them, and time running out, failure is not an option. But even if they succeed, sooner or later the Stalkers will find them again. The only sure path to victory lies in a task so dangerous that death might be the ultimate price.

A very satisfying finale to the second series by Jasper T Scott and Nathan Hystad. The battle for humanity's survival is fought on all fronts on earth by the Dark operatives and their allies. And not only on earth. I fell in love a bit with Lennon, Atlas, David and the others. Characters you'll love and remember. That was an easy to read Military SF series and I for sure hope those two authors will come up with another collaboration.

At the start of Book 3, Survival, things are dire for humanity. A large part of the population has been infected, including most of the world leaders – (although the book only focuses on the US President), the Dark Teams have discovered that there is a ‘Nest’ in Greenland in which the aliens are breeding at, producing more spiders to go and infect more people, and worse still, a second Interloper has been discovered. This second ship is tagged as the ‘Trespasser’ and at the time of discovery was not headed directly for Earth, it was awaiting a signal to guide it to a planet. These ships are hunting for the Grazers, a race that is similar to the Stalkers, but are non-violent, and are therefore Prey to the Stalkers, who are the Predators, and hunt them. Carter has been working with a Grazer, we met ‘Christopher or Chris’ in book 2, and Carter is now able to speak with him.
At the start of book 3, Lennon, Dark Three, and Dark Four, who we learn is named Vance, attack the Greenland site with F45 strike aircraft, but the weapons fail to make it past an energy shield the aliens have erected. It has become apparent that the Stalkers and Spiders are not just the predator species that was assumed in book 1, but that they are actually incredibly intelligent, sentient creatures, and very capable of creating technology, operating the starships (even driving our cars once they are on Earth and see someone doing it once). They adapt quickly, but they have been in stasis a long time, and move between planets looking for resources (like food – such as humans), to consume.
With the attack on the site a failure, Lennon and Vance have to attack the Greenland site on foot, and this begins one aspect of the story. In another parts, we are following Atlas, who has now been given ‘Dark’ status due to his success in book 2 in finding the second ship and the signal, and James Wong, Dark Seven, as they are sent on yet another mission by Dark Leader. Booth has been busy with a research team, trying to find a cure that can be easily disseminated to the population that will reverse the affects of infection. As the book progresses, it becomes up to these two to try and save the infected human population with a cure. Other Dark Teams are also working on this issue.
David Bryce, along with an eclectic team including four Dark Team members, Carter, Chris the Grazer, and another member who is a Dark Leader surprise, are sent on a mission to stop the ‘Trespasser’. If they can’t stop it, or prevent it from coming to Earth, then they will have a second ship full of aliens, but a whole operational ship, and even more aliens than the first ship, that has pushed Earth’s resources to the limit.
This book is even more action-packed and full-on that the first two combined, as the tattered remnants of the Dark Teams, ravaged by their running battles with the aliens, must now regroup and go on a new offensive to try and stop the spread of the infection in several ways. Add to that trying to protect the Signal, as well as destroy the Trespasser and stop any other ships coming to Earth, and the Dark Teams are in serious trouble.
As with the first two books, the character work continues to be masterful, each of the characters is so realistic given their environment and the circumstances that they are involved in. The fatigue, PTSD, and concern that they may not only not survive, but what are they returning to? What are they fighting for? Bryce has a clear motive, as do some other characters like James Wong, but we see characters like Carter struggling with things, and learning to adjust through his relationship with a new Dark Team member Zahra or Dark Thirty-Seven. Again, the psychological aspects of these books are just exceptional.
The other outstanding aspect of these books is the world -building, which continues to just amaze. The aliens are even more intense in this third book, and the tech whilst some of it has come up before (I mean plasma weapons and tracking tech is nothing new?) it is still used in some creative and fun ways in this book and series. The other really interesting aspect of the tech is that you just don’t see it coming – that the spiders and stalkers are going to be able to use it – it has been assumed that they have taken over the ship – not that it is theirs as such and this adds a whole new dimension to the story as well as a new level of terror to the aliens as they are both sentient, intelligent and able to eviscerate you with a back stroke.
This third book really ramps up the action and the ‘shudder’ factor as the aliens are running riot over earth, and worse still, there is another ship – possibly a whole fleet coming. It really gives us a look at the scenario of if a Xenomorph from the Aliens movies managed to make it to Earth and unleashed eggs and aliens on an unsuspecting population – except this is almost worse because the face-huggers can control the host.
This is a brilliant third book in the trilogy, with gripping action sequences that will have you ripping through the book yelling at it (don’t listen to the audiobook in public!!), as you desperately try to learn what is going to happen to our main characters. Running through the whole book though, is that continued brilliant cutting humour from the first two books, as well as the exceptional character work we have come to know and love from both Hystad and Scott. Absolutely not to be missed – this is Masterful!!!

Excellent military science fiction in which dedicated people fight frightening hordes of aliens - 5 stars

In this third and final saga, humans persevere against aliens who have invaded earth. Setting up and winning a battle against a powerful and frightening alien race with superior technology, the battle is won because of the human spirit and some exceptional individuals, both human and alien.

For technology, this story has it all: faster-than-light travel, energy shields, quick medical effects (good and bad), cryo life support, instant transport portals, and a host of support features. The aliens have come and subjugated almost every human.

The tide of battle changes when a few people who have avoided the alien's infection work with two aliens, Einstein - a Stalker - and Chris - a Grazer. Both Einstein and Chris had to put their inner natures aside to quickly fabricate a spaceship.

On the medical frontier, an infection reversal medication had to be developed and distributed in metropolitan water supplies. Of course, the aggressive Stalkers fought back and started to procreate like bees in a hive.

Humans had to capture and adapt alien technologies and hone in on the aliens' weaknesses. We have a couple of space battles and lots of action in the North African desert. Because there were humans, there had to be some romance and heart-tugging scenes that were done tastefully, still allowing for some of the good people to die in battle.

The most exciting scenes involved two spacecraft latching onto each other with boarding and finding to the enemy's vital territory. Letting this enemy escape even in small numbers would lead to a more certain complete wipeout if the aliens could return in greater numbers.

Part of what makes this a good book is that it is never clear how it is going to end. The title presupposes that the humans will win somehow but the authors through in a number of good twists -- which side is he on? -- which applies to both humans and aliens.

The final battle with the Stalkers is coming

The second Stalker ship, named Trespasser, is on the way. Easy Peasy, kill the Stalkers and Crawlers, destroy the Trespasser, keep the Signal out of their 'hands' and keep them from building another way to alert the Stalker fleet that a choice, fat world was found. Couldn't let them ring the dinner bell. The Dark teams organize to hunt down the alien enemy and eliminate the threat to the planet, both on the ground and in surrounding space. New threats, new weapons, new alien tech adapted to use against the alien horde.

The characters we've grown to love will die. New friends will pop up in timely fashion, old friends keeping them in line, helping them survive as the fight becomes desperate, our planet and lives in the balance. Heroes emerge and give their lives for a goal of a free and united Earth. Old disagreements and arguments forgotten in the united fight for survival. One huge thrust to free our world!

Amazing action, desperate battles, selfless sacrifice and a wildly swinging storyline make every page a thriller, every chapter a battle cry. Put it all together and it becomes an amazing read! Getcha some!

“From Beyond” Book 3 “Survival ”

Jasper T Scott and Nathan Hystad.

 The third instalment “Survival ”
Has it all.

It’s full of action and suspense with a number of blindsided twists.

The cooperative writing styles of Scott and Hystad is fluid and seamless.

Each action scene and outcome is exciting with elevated edge of seat reading.

The closer you get to the end, the faster the pages turn.

Like a fish at the end of a fishing line the tension builds and releases, and builds again.

To benefit from the complete story it’s best to start from book one.

I realised three quarters through the third instalment that this story would translate into a fantastic action/adventure movie. Maybe that would happen.

The ending is somewhat typical of most movies, leaving a small doorway for a sequel.

From Beyond trilogy is an amazing entertaining series full of satisfying action and at times blindsided twists.

Definitely worth the read.

Is this the final book of the series? I thought so when I started it, but the ending leads me to believe, maybe not! This is book 3, and I wouldn't recommend reading this without at least reading #2. The action is hot and heavy and no room to fill you in!
With a mega sized alien invasion likely if the aliens get their hands on "The Signal" the Dark Force will do anything to keep it safe. Can humans trust the 2 different species of alien turncoats?
There is a couple different locations we keep track of for most of the book. Each chapter is from a character's point of view. It's easy to keep track because not only is the chapter labeled with the character, but also the location they are in.
Sometimes sad, sometimes inventive, always gripping. Humans better kick alien butt!

Our team of best-selling authors did a superb job of switching between and intertwining the three separate story lines in this third installment. We continued to learn more about what made the major characters tick, as they were strained to the limit, fighting against overwhelming alien forces, learning to identify and exploit alien weaknesses, even as their own numbers were depleted. Would they be able to stop the second alien starship from reaching Earth? Could they secure the Signal device, to prevent the call for the full-out alien invasion? This was a non-stop, action-packed, roller coaster ride that kept me turning pages right to the surprise finish. It was a satisfying ending, which also left some possibilities for future spin-offs for these characters, and I would certainly like to see that happen!

It always amazes me how very human and stupid that aliens can be. The best thing about this last book is the cast of characters that get it all done.

Some suspension of disbelief is necessary, though. Linguist is suddenly a crack pilot? Artifact hunter is now an adept, capable elite soldier? Everybody recovers from serious injuries in a day or so? Really? I think it's typical for these authors, and honestly I just don't care. It's good fiction. There are some battles here that are amazing. The ending is really drawn out, tying up loose ends and in the very end extremely satisfying. Give me all the action. I love it.

And Ray Porter on audio is the best part - this book would never be so good without him.

This was a book of non-stop action. From fighting in space to fighting on Earth, the reader was really taken for a ride. I was totally impressed at how the authors could keep track of where everyone is in the fight against the aliens. And thank goodness as sometime I couldn't! And sometimes some key, or well-known, players were killed off which then makes things move believable. And considering how this series ended, is there going to be another series started? Sure hope so. Promise I'll be in line for that book. Thank you, Jasper and Nathan for keeping me spellbound for another of your books. Hope you join together to tell us more wonderful stories.

♥️💚👽😰 Totally captivating

Off the coast of Greenland, Lennon Baxter/Dark Three was in a bad mood. She was having a lot of trouble recovering from the latest events.

Vance Tomlin/Dark Four tried in vain to change her mind.

The mission was going to be difficult.
The fight against the aliens was constant...

-------------------

A totally addictive and captivating sequel in which the "Darks" military team has a lot of trouble.

Will they be able to defeat the alien invaders???

I highly recommend this action-packed sequel!
I really like the characters and the underlying plot.
Too bad the series is ending...

To discover !

Our trio is back and we hit the point where it might be too late. The Dark Teams continue to be dispatched through out the world. Only now, the entire world is aware of the Alien. With the landing off the coast of Boston, how is it that the aliens have seemingly taken over every corner of earth from one crashed ship. Dark Leader has trusted a grazer but now there’s a stalker on the team? Can he be trusted? With many of the dark team lost in battle, how can they recruit and keep the signal out of the hands of the Stalkers? There are so many variables at play, how does the Dark Leader keep it all together. Last time I was on the edge of my seat. This was a nail biter to the end.

excellent adventure

THE story is like a spy novel but the twist and turns see friends lost in battles of the few fighting the horrors of alien races.
Scott and Hystad have waved their pens as swords fighting the dark. The roles played in this are well defined and have you cheering them on and hopeing they survive. These two have moved to the top of my favorite writers list. Brin, Asimov, Norton, Bradbury, and other. As i reached 70 finding new writers to enjoy was not in the cards, yet hope burns eternal. Very well done!

These Aliens Made Me Shudder

These aliens and their servants/exterminators tap into a natural fear of many people, me included. I've been reading science fiction since I checked Bob Heinlein's "Green Hills of Earth" out from the library in the 1950's, and these aliens were the first total surprise since then. I happen to like strong women characters who can kick @ss with the best of them, and there is one in this series who should be the primary heroine on a Prime/Apple+/Disney/Netflix series.
This was a great read and I Strongly recommend it.

Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. Humanity's ultimate is unfolding... and it's going to be a bitter battle to the very end. Atlas's mission in particular is the most profound because freeing people who've be infested by those aliens monsters means targeting a very precious resource: water. With plenty of bombastic battles from Lennon and the other members of the Dark Teams, taking it directly to where the aliens have made a home on our world with all the fire and grit people can have when facing death. Even space isn't safe as David and intrepid crew go back into the blackness, taking on another alien ship that is just as harrowing as the ship that begun it all. Authors Jasper and Nathan take this finale series book to the edge and back, making the investment of reading them all more poignant and memorable. Highly recommended.

A very entertaining alien invasion series from two great authors, Nathan Hystad and Jasper T. Scott.

A perfect balance of character development, unique aliens and multiple storylines.

These authors have no problem with killing off main characters in their books, so I'm always on edge about that fact once I become fond of them.

The action was pretty much non-stop, but still offered time to become involved with the rather large cast of characters.

Highly recommended.

Suitable ending

This book follows directly from book two, with our heroes scrambling to save Earth and humanity from total destruction. Setting up to fight the enemy in space and Earth with decreasing manpower. Are the allies really allies? Or are they enemies in disguise? It's a frenetic pace with a few twists and turns. A very satisfactory end to the story, albeit not a mind blowing one.

Just Keeps Surprising

Outstanding volume 3 book of an outstanding series of three. It just keeps weaving a complex tail that never seems to end and in each turn provides surprise moments. Really is a difficult series of books to put down. As a reader you just want to continue and not stop reading. Complements to the authors and thank you for an enjoyable trip through an amazing story!

In a manner of speaking Survival devolved into some serious dungeon crawling as the survival of Earth devolved into hunting down the Stalker queen's and ending the alien threat of Earth.
But it is not easy.
Then a second Stalker spaceship appears on the scene.
Survival is exactly about that...survival. And it is a harrowing tale indeed that had me up till late the night as I tried to finish this book. What a way for humanity's first contact to develop and end!
Enjoy.

Another excellent book from Jasper T Scott and Nathan Hystad.

This is the third book of the series From Beyond. It is full of action both on earth and in space. My face was glued to the book. I kept wanting to know what was going to happen to the different characters.

I received this book as an ARC and thank the authors for such an excellent book. I loved it.

Everyone is back for more action, adventure and danger in this addicting story. Glued to the end to see what each of the trio must face and overcome. Had to see how it would end and who would win, the aliens or the humans. Three main plots were up in the air and made reading the story so much fun. So much fun and entertaining to read as I sat on the edge of my seat to the end.

Great ending to this series by Jasper T Scott and Nathan Hystad.

I'm always a little hesitant when it comes to the last book because it's so easy to ruin an entire series with a bad ending but I was very pleased with how this was all wrapped up. There even seems to be a possible hint at future books maybe an offshoot or another story in the same universe.

And its a Ray Porter narration so you know that parts great!

I was so pleased to read a book like this that was well written and proofed! Yike is it a pain to not notice bad spelling and terrible vocabulary. Not a problem in Scott's books. It is futuristic, but not totally improbable. Like many of this venue a lot seems riding on just a few people, but they are believable characters. Read the series. You won't be disappointed.

Fast Paced Sci-fi

This book brings about a nice conclusion to the series. Ties up many loose ends from the original two books. Usually these series will leave readers hanging on a cliff edge indefinitely. I’m glad this wasn’t one of those.

As always it’s well written, and keeps you turning pages from start to finish. Thank you for exciting my imagination with this story.

Great Finish

A great finish to a really good three book series. I appreciate that it was only three parts instead of a story that goes on and on slowly becoming a drag. Some new characters in part 3, well developed. The story arcs well from the beginning and the end is action packed. Worth the read.

Golly these books are good!

First of all its an interesting story. The characters are fun and believable. I wish there were just a couple illustrations because I still am not sure how to envision all the different types of aliens. Hoping for a fourth adventure.
