NOVUS IS AT WAR With the discovery of the so-called ‘living water’ on Novus, Earth is determined to control the supply. Three different superpowers are fighting over the one small valley where the miracle elixir can be found. From the United States, Major Ethan White is heading up a company of elite Army Rangers charged with organizing the Novians and claiming the valley for America, but internal conflicts among the colonists are threatening to tear the fledgling colony apart.
Layla Bester just wants to keep her baby girl safe, and Tom Zimmers is determined to help her. Having learned who the girl’s father really is, Layla on the run, but it’s not easy to find refuge in a world that is teeming with deadly creatures. When she accidentally encounters the vitrified remains of Jessica Brady and Neil Forrester, she fears that Novus’s deadliest secret has yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, something strange is happening in the skies above and deep within the bowels of Novus. Reverend Mark Cole says it’s a portent of a coming judgement for the invaders, and the mayor of Elysia, Preston Baylor, fears that the truth isn’t any less sinister: the architects are about to be revealed.

( Format : Audiobook ) "Where are the Architects?" The third in the series Architects of he Apocalypse and best read after the two earlier books. The cast of protagonists, and there are many, include Russians, Chinese and people's from the United States including a religious sect, aliens, those indigenous to Planet B, dinosaurs, Shadow creatures, and the mortal enemies, the Watchers and the Architects, and thrown into the mix are the enslave!ent and carnage on earth, space portals, hollow planets, military units, destructive drones, a pregnant woman who doesn't know the father, a convicted murderer or two, a romance and magic heaing water - all of which is in place before the book begins. Switching through various locations and perspectives, it is hard to keep.up after the action really starts up. A bit like 'real' life actually. The characters are mostly well drawn and distinctive but the nature of their loyalties at times ambiguous leading into, and even during, the final big battle. The whole is very simply but visually written. The accompanying narration by James Patrick Cronin is well performed, different voices for each character keeping them distinct, even if some are annoying.
I find it hard to know how to rate this book. It was an enjoyable read at times and cleverly written, but just too cluttered and segmented, pushing in new ideas then moving on, for this reader, plus a very unsatisfying ending.
Apokalypsis part 1, the concluding two-part series to “Planet B”, is a wonderful story.
As with the previous books within Planet B, the story and characterization continue to deepen. While the book provides answers to previous mysteries, it also opens up other elements. It’s fast passed in places.
I was riveted by the additional shadowy unknowns, and the intentions of the “Watchers” becoming more evident leaves you asking how is this is going to work out? as the situation becomes direr.
It is very clear that Scott has created an epic finish with the undertaking of a second part. If you have enjoyed the series thus far, you will love Apokalypsis.
Like me, I’m sure you will be hanging out to find out how part 2, the finale, concludes. Or maybe there will be a sequel.
I would highly recommend the complete set for a vacation read or even a gift for someone who has not been introduced to Jaspar T Scott’s novels.
Book 3 is in 2 parts. I would recommend reading the first 2 books, before this one. If you really can't wait, or it's been a while, the author put a pretty complete synopsis of what has happened in, which I really appreciate.
I like the story. People suddenly find themselves on another planet, with dinosaurs! And Earth is taken over by aliens and the characters are all trying (to varying degrees) to set things right and get back to Earth. I also like most of the characters. Some, I think, we aren't meant to like. But the recurring ones are fleshed out pretty well, especially who I consider to be the main character, Layla.
So why 4 stars instead of 5? Because I feel the story could have progressed more in the first half of this book. There seemed to me, to be several moderately long chapters, which didn't progress the story at all, and made me wonder why it was even in there? The 2nd part though, really moved and was gripping. It was a bit confusing at first but then you see the whole picture and it moves quickly, progressing the story rapidly, right up to the end.
All in all, an interesting read. I can only hope someday we actually have "gateways" and can travel long distances, like the author has in here. I just hope we don't have aliens using them to take us over.
Thank you, Jasper T. Scott, for giving us this continuation of what has happened to our brave souls having been transferred to Planet B, or Novus, as it's known by the locals. Layla, the cop, is pregnant, but who is the father? Looks like they might be saved, but no. The saviors are now stranded as well. The Chinese have sent a group but they are looking for the Russians. More ships come down, but these are exiles from Earth, a religious group that has their own interpretation of why this has happened. All these diverse people being thrown together. It is exciting to see how they all interact and what happens to them. And who are these strange, invisible people who keep showing up? Are they the Architects or the Watchers? Just who is the good guy here? Thanks for keeping us entertained, Jasper. Hard to put the book down.
Plenty going on in this, I think is the final book in the trilogy. Action, adventure, intrigue, suspense, revelations a plenty, double agents, double double agents. I’m not sure if these are spoilers or not but reader beware.
Layla and Tom, I mean come on, who saw that coming, I thought for sure it would be Bruce and Layla, well just goes to show never assume. Other parts read like a 70’s soap opera, who’s your daddy, who’s your mammy. Oh no! I hope I didn’t sleep with my brother, I hope he isn’t the father of my baby. DNA samples being thrown around left right and centre, like an episode of Jerry Springer. Hilarious, I must say very entertaining, I found it quite amusing in parts or is that just me. The ending was a bit simplistic, a bit Disney-ish, but having said that it was still an enjoyable read.
I loved this story. It is full of aliens, adventure, action with some romance.
This book follows on from Jasper T Scott's books Planet B and Worlds Collide, which are the first two books of Architects of the Apocalypse. I am glad that Jasper wrote a synopsis of both books as I read them some time ago and it was good to be reminded about them before I read this book.
The USA, Russians and Chinese want to control the supply of the water which cures illness and injuries. Major Ethan White from the United States has been sent with an army of rangers to claim the valley and the water.
Layla Bester goes back to Earth but is returned to Planet B or Novus as it is called by the locals. She discovers that she is pregnant but does not know who the father is as she has not slept with anyone. Her baby is growing at a fast rate. She is determined to keep her baby safe. Tom Smith wants to help her.
Reverend Mark Cole and 200 followers arrive on Planet B. They have been sent as exiles by the Watchers for refusing to get implants because they believe they are the mark of the Devil.
Layla Bester finally delivers her baby girl who grows quickly into a small child. Tom and Layla discover who the little girl's father really is, but the mother is not revealed until later in the book when Layla and Tom find out why the baby was impregnated into her.
War is imminent and the winner will determine who will rule the human race and Earth. Will it be the Watchers or the Architects? Which race is the bad one? Or are they both bad? Will humans be better under the Architects or the Watchers? Will they all be stuck on Novus for life? Will it ever be safe for them to return to Earth?
Read this series of books to find out. I enjoyed the whole series.
Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. Novus has already proven to be a wild end crazy place with dinosaurs on the prowl and the native tribes of the Jakar people are any ever looming threat to the unfortunate survivors on this world. With the discovery of water that can heal; its control turns an unforgiving alien world in a battle ground that will shatter fragile alliances formed upon Novus but Earth as well. At each turn of the page, while they this story continues to escalate dangers humanity faces from alien threats and yet doesn't leave the depth of connections humanity needs to take a stand. Another gem of a read.
First book was good. Second book was okay. This, the third book in the series, is a mess. There are entirely too many storylines and they all become a tangled up, nonsensical, unrealistic mess. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out the ending. Made no sense at all.
***Spoiler*** The water has healing properties via nano technology. A cool idea that quickly loses it's shine as it's entirely overused in all of the books. Never fully feared for the characters because they could always be revived or healed with a spritz of that magic water. Not sure if there's another book on the way. If there is, I'll pass.
Apokalypsis, book 3 in AoA series, is an amazing and well-written sci-fi adventure! The characters are realistic and engaging. Each book has tightened the tension and has more twists than a snakes path. I throughly enjoyed reading it and highly recommend it. This is definitely NOT a stand-alone as the three books should be read in the order written.
Please note that this book is NOT in two parts as another reviewer stated. It was presented as two parts only to ARC readers for convenience sake.
Disclaimer: I received this ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Novus is Eden, while Earth is being destroyed by our makers and their enemies. Layla, Tom and crew are stuck in the middle but have the ability to stay out of the war if they remain neutral or so they think. This war has gone on for millennia and one in the crew has been picked out by Adama to be the one to put an end to the war. Can they survive long enough to stop it.
Well. What an interesting turn of events. Please read Books 1 & 2 before reading book 3. Potential spoilers below. Overall great story. Loved the premise and the twists and turns.
I was kind of annoyed that the healing water wasn't utilised so much more. Seemed to be many deaths even though they had this amazing resource. Not sure that I liked the very end of the story, it seemed to come out of nowhere. Maybe there will be a book 4?? Quite a unique and interesting story.
A geat finale to this series. I couldn’t put it down. A group of alien beings has made itself known to humanity – and a small group that were teleported off earth (to a designed galaxy) are the only ones that can save humanity. Creative approach to the location – the aliens have invaded earth, yet the protagonists are stranded in space. This is one I wished would just keep going.
Ending was dire, main characters barely affect it, nobody on the winning side was really any better than anyone else, and the macguffin that brings everyone back to life at the end just felt unearned and out of nowhere.
Nowhere in the books do the architects go “oh hey we can bring everyone back to life through quantum bullshit” until the very last bit.
It spoiled the first two books for me.

There was a lot going on, both with story line and technology, but continually pulled back together. I thoroughly enjoyed the books and was swept to places that stretched my imagination to its limits!
What a brilliant finish to this fantastic series. Great storytelling with plenty of twists and turns. Gradually revealing just who the watchers and architect's really are. Definitely recommend this book and the whole series another winner from Jasper Scott
Speed read most of the confusing and wandering thoughts that often got lost while reading this book. Previous one was ok, but author just got totally lost trying to find the ending. And is still wandering looking for that ending.
interesting take on the universe, God, in the afterlife!
Interesting client, lots of action. Strong male and female characters. Jasper made the worlds and the environments within them come to life. I would heartily recommend this book, it is hard to put down.
As much as I liked the series, I considered the ending quite disappointing. Might be because I'm an atheist and have nothing to do with any religion or 'gods'.
A blending of technology and religion with each defining the other.
Never have I read a series with such unlikable characters!
Axel saves his old high school friends from an upcoming alien invasion. They have aged 20 years while Axel has only aged a few months due to him being on a planet near a black hole.
He keeps a lot of information to himself, being ordered to do so. This infuriates the people he saved leaving him ostracized and beaten up a lot.
Meanwhile his friends he saved are keeping every secret they discover. As I said all the high school friends have serious character issues.
