Rule #1: I belong to Daddy.

A trained assassin, now unhinged, Atlas is done blending in. When the love of his life, and the sweetest boy, Jasiel was imprisoned, Atlas decided it was time to put an end to the cartel's hold over him.

He's out for blood, guts, and glory. And he'll do anything to be on top, including murder his family. All Atlas wants is to protect and provide for his precious boy.

Rule #2: Always get revenge.
Sweet and sassy pyro, Jasiel, did everything he could to make his Daddy proud, even take the fall for the one crime he didn't commit. But Jasiel wasn't planning on sticking around anyway.

He's ready to follow Daddy's orders, and he'll do it with a stuffie in one hand and a slushie in the other. He might look sweet, but he'll burn you alive for looking at Daddy the wrong way.

Rule #3: Cake is breakfast.
Apart from each other, Atlas and Jasiel are broken. Together they're an unstoppable force.

One wrong move and they'll take everything. Just ask the Coronado Crime Family... if you can find their bodies.

BROKEN is part of the Ruthless Daddies multi-author collab and a complete standalone. Expect to find an ex-assassin Daddy taking over a cartel and starting a war, a sweet pyromaniac boy, all the steam and a guaranteed HEA. Want more deliciously morally gray Daddies and boys? Grab the whole series!

This book was like a game of Mad Libs. It felt like the story was pieced together by random selection. One character grew up in... a murderous circus! Another went to... assassin boarding school! One character jeopardizes the entire mission...for a slushie! They take a trip to the zoo...to feed people to lions! It was all just so absurd that it was hilarious. If this was intended to be a comedy or satire, it actually may have worked with some polishing.
But speaking of polishing, this book desperately needed an editor. Sentences start and stop midway, word choices don't fit at all, and a lack of proper punctuation made it so difficult to follow at times. Even after reading some sentences multiple times, I still couldn't comprehend the context and just had to move on. It was rough.
I was pretty excited for the premise of this one, but was sadly disappointed. There were definitely some moments that I enjoyed, perhaps in a different way than intended, but overall there was really nothing, and no one, to connect with.

🔵 DNF 🔵

I tried, but I can't anymore.

Time of death at 12%, but I persisted until 40%.

🟢 #4 in the Ruthless Daddies series

This was badly written. The book needed an editor, it felt like this was a draft, not the finished product.

"I scoffed, throwing myself back on the bed. “Don’t ruin my fun,” I said. “Be like, ouch, or owie.” “Ow,” he tssked his teeth. “Like that?” “Noooooo.” I rested my feet on his back, gently kicking. “You’re at like sixty and I want you to be at one hundred. No, no. A thousand.”"

What is going on??

I have no idea what's going on, the storytelling is awful, grammatical mistakes are plenty and for the life of me, I couldn't connect with the MMCs.

"My dick was like my best friend. It was always there for me, and it would give me those happy rushes of energy whenever I was feeling a little down, so when I couldn’t get those rushes by threatening people, I got them from my friend lefty, but I could also do righty too."

I won't even continue.

This is unreadable.

A hot mess.
A lot of the book read as if it was a list. So many incomplete sentences that would just stop and end with a period. And then there were so many contradicting things in the beginning of the story. The typos though… they made the story unreadable. It needed to be read through again for spelling errors because there were so many repeat words or misused words I was getting confused and had to slow down and reread quite a few times just to understand what had been said. I had to stop reading it because it just made this story I had such high hopes for not enjoyable to me. I might go back and try to finish this at some other point. I’m just to frustrated right now. I got 42% in to it and had to stop.

To say this was a cluster fuck might be an understatement.
It was pretty disjointed and lacked any real depth. If I can't make it through a novella length book I know it's not me.

DNF at 26% ✋

I hate DNF a book that short but come on: the MC escape of prison after a year there and on the same day goes out with his face clearly visible to get a fuc*ing slushie?? (When his face is all over the news btw. It’s not like it’s a secret.)Really? Ridiculous! And he’s like “oh yeah let’s go to the zoo tomorrow” the day after escaping prison and when his Daddy is believed to be dead? Sure…
He also asks to go to a bar (because he can’t get alcohol at home??) and of course his daddy says yes! Absolutely ridiculous!

There are also tons of weird sentences that don’t make sense like “My two associates, Midas, who I’d trained with and knew for years.” 🤔

And writing a romance with an already established couple is tough so unless it’s really well written it’s hard for me to get into it. I thought “they were separated for a year, their reunion should be hot AF!” Nope, it was lukewarm AF instead! Such a disappointment…Even sex aside, their reunion didn’t feel like they had spent a year appart (with 1 in jail!)

I feel like it doesn’t work as a romance or as a mafia thriller since the MC are so stupid they both should be dead already.

It’s the 2nd or 3rd DNF of the week, arghhh I hate that feeling when I only start bad books 😩

Atlas is a trained assassin who worked for a cartel but when they engineered the imprisonment of his boy Jasiel who is the love of his life he decides to put an end to the cartel's hold over him. Jasiel has done everything that his daddy told him to do, but now it is time for revenge and to follow his Daddy's order even if he has to do it with a stuffie in one hand and a slushie in the other. Apart from each other, Atlas and Jasiel are broken. Together they're an unstoppable force. One wrong move and they'll take everything. Just ask the Coronado Crime Family... if you can find their bodies.

I found this a difficult book to read. Yes at the centre of it was a Daddy and his boy, but there was a lot of violence, a lot of sex, a lot of wild behaviour by Jasiel and very little control of him by Atlas which didn't feel right. In the end, I lost my attention to the story even though there were a lot of important things there as it also looked at Jasiel's parentage and some plays for dominance amount other cartels. A difficult read. Contains a BDSM-like DDLB relationship, a lot of violence and murder.

Not for me. I'm not 100% sure what went wrong here because this should have been right up my street. I've read later books by this author and enjoyed them so thought I'd go back to this one as I missed it in the Ruthless Daddies series last year. The premise is good. In theory, I should have loved Atlas and Jasiel together and I was taken in by the opening scenes, really wanting to see what happened to get Jasiel freed. However, I seriously struggled to understand Jasiel. It wasn't that he's a morally grey character, it's that his behaviours just didn't track! Everything (him included) just jumped from thing to thing, he had a mission that he wanted to be a part of and he couldn't even focus on that! They had good chemistry together but I just couldn't get past the randomness of all the different character backgrounds and events in the book thrown together. Also, it does really need editing because some 'sentences' aren't sentences at all, adding to my difficultly in comprehending what on earth was meant to be going on.
Overall, not for me.

This is my first book by this author. The story itself was decent and I did enjoy the MCs. I haven’t read too many books where the MCs were already in a relationship so that was kind of different.

I would have given this book a higher rating but there were just sooo many editing mistakes. Punctuation in the wrong place, words mixed up in a sentence, wrong words used. I ended up highlighting A LOT of things an amateur editor would have spotted. Most authors have beta readers and even ARC readers, SOMEONE should have pointed out several, if not all of these mistakes. If the author polishes this up with a decent editor, I may revise my review.

Not as bad as the 2nd book in this series, but still pretty bad

The writing is...poor quality, very basic. The characters are very 2D and caricature-ish. The psychos are over the top ridiculous. There is no character development, the background story is just revenge without true emotion, just killing for the psycho character and not for any true meaning. It was hard to finish because it was just so bad and boring. The little was a brat in a bitchy way, not in a fun way. Like, he needs way more than a spanking, and his daddy just lets him get away with it cuz he's "so cute and adorable" but really they're just...so boring, as a couple. I'm disappointed. 3rd story was great, 1st story was ok, and 2 was absolutely unfinish-able and this one was barely better. I would recommend skipping this book entirely, you're not missing out on anything good.

This author needs a lot of work with this book! The grammatical errors in this book are crazy. An alpha reader can help with that if they don't want to pay for an editor. The plot hardly made sense. The character would be on a roof top in 1 sentence then the next he's standing on the ground. Like the author mixed up the details so much! I liked Atlas. Don't get me wrong he wasn't someone I couldn't read without. But Jasiel omg he got on my nerves. He goes outside only 3 times, gets attacked every time but then claims that he's done so well at hiding out. Gosh I can't get over how much I disliked this book. It took me almost 2 weeks just to finish it only because I was dreading reading it. I very rarely dnf a book but I'm questioning myself on why I even finished this book. Ugh.... Such a disappointment this book!!!

Finally!

I finally finished a book by the author! Usually I am DNF around the 15-20% mark if I make it that far. This one was soooo much better! I loved both MC's, esp how sweet Atlas was to his boy.
My only thing was there were still grammatical errors or extra words thrown in or left out of sentences. Honesty it looked like the author went to write it one way, then switched and wrote the sentence another way or combined the two.
Ex: "“I’m going to take to rip those clothes off you,”
He's also gotten better at keeping the POV the same through out the whole chapter. There was only one chapter I had to keep rereading as "I" vs "he" was used and yet it was referencing the other MC, not the one whose POV if was suppose to be from.

Slushies and Stuffies

Jasiel and Atlas have been a Daddy/boy couple for years but they're also killers of bad guys. Atlas has decided to quit his assassin job but unfortunately his boss decides to have him killed and Jasiel ends up in prison. When Atlas is shot and everyone thinks he's is dead, he plots revenge and to get Jasiel out of prison. Jasiel though is a sneaky and manages to escape. This book has lots of violence, torture, twists and turns, and sweet daddy/boy moments as Atlas will do anything for his boy including keeping him supplied with blue slushies and his teddy bear blubby. Lots of typos but you can still get through this book. I'm ready for the next one in the series.

I absolutely loved this book! My favourite from this author so far. I binged this book in a few hours; when I had to move from my chair, I walked and read.

The MCs are fantastic, Jasiel is terrifying and precious all at the same time and Atlas and him are a perfect murderous team! I can’t decide if I want to be best friends with them or run and hide in terror. Probably best friends, it’d be worth it.

This is dark, no good guys to be found anywhere but definitely bad guys you absolutely adore. For me this was a funny, steamy dark daddy book and I look forward to reading the other author collaborations in the Ruthless Daddies series.

Part of me is 4 stars because I adored the characters and part of me is 3 stars because of the ridiculousness of some of it, but since I overall enjoyed it I'll go with 4. I'd say something about wishing GR had half stars but then I'd find myself trying to give 3 and 1/4 or 3 and 3/4 stars because that is the kind of crap I do...Basically just roll with the murder-y carnival and risking everything for a blue slushie silliness and enjoy. (honestly though, I really shouldn't judge because there are days that I NEED that Pepsi and would be willing to risk assassins to get it and/or commit violent crimes against anyone getting in between me and my caffeine/sugar bomb.)

Revenge

Whoa this was a crazy, wild ride. The plot grabs you from the beginning and doesn't stop until the last member of the Coronado Mafia has been eradicated. Jasiel is a pyromaniac little that loves his Daddy, his slushies, and his knives. Atlas is the perfect contract killer and is wrapped around his boy's finger. I really liked that this was a revenge story. The couple is already established and has been wronged, so we jump right into the middle of the action. I also liked Trojan and Midas, and would be interested to know more about their story.

Nah. This book isn't good. It reads so stunted and disconnected, it doesn't flow. It looks like the book hasn't been edited being riddled with grammar, spelling and continuity errors. I didn't really like any characters and everything was way too easy for them. Even if they're so highly trained and experienced, it shouldn't be so easy to

This author has come highly recommended to me, and given this was my first read from them, I'm not impressed, nor will I rush out to check out their other work. Disappointing.

What a nice surprise! This is the first darker romance from this author, and it is very well written. It has a good flow and the characters are well characterized, most of all our super sweet and super sassy Jasiel. Ehy, little pyro, I agree with you: cake is totally breakfast!
And the Daddy/boy aspect of their dynamic is there, ever present but never overpowering.
Yup, I really enjoyed it.

Just finished Broken as part of the Ruthless Daddies series! Omg this book had it all... A little who was slightly unhinged, not afraid to get his hands bloody and a Daddy that is LITERALLY wrapped around his pretty pinky. The amount of blue slushies in this book makes me want to go to 7-11! 😁 revenge is best with a little (or a ton) of C-4 and knives! In this series Jasi and Atlas are by far my favorite 😍!

Broken by Joe Satoria is part of the Ruthless Daddies series by multiple authors. This book is about Atlas and Jasiel. Daddy Atlas is a trained assassin. Jasiel a sweet and sassy pyro. Together they're unstoppable.

I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels, thrilling, fun and very well written.

I feel so bad for thus review!

I have read books from this author before and really enjoyed their stories but this one had me wanting more.

To begin with I was so confused - I'm not sure if I have missed a prequel book or something but it just didnt Really make whole lot of sense and then the ending had me questioning where the rest of the book went.

Like I said, I love the authors other work but this just felt a bit off?

Unfortunately this was a forgetable book for me from the ruthless daddies series.

new genre

If you have been reading any that Joe Satoria releases you have seen him write a gambit of content. Broken is a different breed all together. This book is violent, dirty and fuels some of your dirtiest Daddy/boy thoughts you didn’t know existed. I am completely down for seeing more from Trojan and Midas. We need this sooner rather than later.

You all.. this story was crazy, violent, OTT, cute and I loved every word of it! Atlas and Jasiel are two of my new favorite MCs. They love each other to a pathological level and are absolutely perfect together.

My only complaint about the book is the editing- to the point of distraction, but worth it for this off the rails blue slushie guzzling adventure.

It was okay…

I love stories with crazy characters and these ones were no different. My problem was that there were just too many grammatical errors. I’m usually okay with some errors (I mean, no body’s perfect), but the amount of errors took away from the story’s flow. It definitely needed more editing.

I loved this book. Jasiel is in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Atlas is a highly trained assassin and Jasiel is his boy. Jasiel's prison escape goes according to plan and he's free. Now its time for them to get revenge on those that were after them.

I really liked the concept, but this book was rough. It could have done with a lot more editing to make it smoother. There was zero character development, plenty of craziness and some unanswered questions. Not my type of book.
