I heard about this book and have subsequently been trying to get my hands on it ever since it first came out. Even when I was in NYC last October I went into every book shop that I passed, desperately asking each if they had it but to no avail. Eventually I caved and paid to have it shipped over to England from the states as my summer read and I am so glad I did. This book was stupidly relatable for me and where I currently am in my life for an array of reasons, and I felt really seen reading this book. It did sometimes feel like a preview, and I feel it could’ve been fleshed out a lot more but it was still super enjoyable. Glad I stuck it out and waited so long to read it!

A lovely book I couldn't put down and didn't want to end. Despite reading from a British perspective, I couldn't help but relate to Olivia, as Casey perfectly captured my feelings of living & working in the big city in my 20s.

An excellent debut novel from a young author . Very well written with a great deal of humour and detail about the challenges and pressures encountered by a young lady trying to make it in the media business within a very stressful and demanding environment . A lot of seemingly inside knowledge suggest some personal experience of the writer .

Never have I read a book that so perfectly describes the feeling and experience of being in your 20s. Dexter beautifully captures the trials and tribulations of figuring out yourself - in love, career, relationships, and your overall place in life.

Industry Friends perfectly encapsulates what it’s like working in morning television in New York City - and how it feels when dreams don’t pan out quite as you’d have hoped. Dexter tells the story of a young twenty-something who is struggling to navigate busy life in the city, maintain friendships, crush it at work and maybe, possibly, find a moment to go on a date. A great read all around!

As the author of this book I can whole heartedly say it’s the best book I’ve ever written! 10/10 would write again! It captures NYC in my 20’s and the crazy push and pull we feel between a social life, career, love life, health, family relationship, and more.

Industry Friends is a story of how a twenty something woman obtained her dream job of slaving for a TV broadcasting company as a production assistant. Being in a fast paced and time consuming field, Olivia later realizes that a balancing act between her career, health and dating life is better conceptualized than actualized. The narrative portrayed the struggles and frustrations a typical female in her age group and their shifting priorities as destiny calls for a finer deal.

This book will be relatable & appreciated by any young professional or up-coming aggressively enterprising person who is on the verge of seeking equilibrium with her work prospects and private and personal world.

I received a copy of this book through Voracious Readers.

I was intrigued about this book because I love entertainment related themed books and this one primarily focused on television.

I really enjoyed Industry Friends. Great story telling that was written very well and set in two of the best cities in the world! I loved the characters we met along the way. It was a very relatable read about relationships, career changes and life challenges.

I would love to read more about Oliva in her next phase of her career!

This is an entertaining book with some good life lessons thrown in for good measure. It was interesting to watch Olivia work through all her relationship and job struggles. The backgrounds of New York and London were very descriptive and added depth to the story. Very enjoyable book.

As someone who has recently moved to New York City and is in their mid-twenties, I found every aspect of this book relatable. I simply could not put it down. Casey not only perfectly captures what it’s like to feel lost in life and at work, but shows their always is a way out and better things ahead. Thank you from every girl like me, we needed this!🤍
