no matter how many times i've said Nikita Parmenter's writing needs work, i'll give her this - everything about her stories are fucking addicting.

[insert rugrats meme that goodreads will not let me post about not being sure if you're addicted to memes or just making fun of people]

the whole plot about Phoenix and the mystery cabin is leaving me slightly concerned about the direction this series is heading, which is why i hope she turns a better corner in this book, but i'll honestly read through any bullshit for atlas. and trick. and cash.

rage is invited too, if he can be a less annoying and angsty. honestly, parmenter should just kill off all other four guys off, because who really needs a harem of eight, right?

[insert meme about being an all-around horny hypocritical bitch myself]

lmfao all jokes aside im excited for the end of the summer now ig

Messed Up Families

I’d probably give this book 4.5 ⭐️ if I could.

This is the fifth book in a continuing series. In order to understand this book you need to have read the preceding books. There is also a spin off series that has just started that has no impact on the storyline in this book. I will warn you that there is a doozy of a cliffhanger at the end of this book, if you hate them, you might want to wait for the next book to come out before reading this one.

This book starts immediately after the end of the previous book. As always the main characters are thrown headlong into crisis after crisis. They never get a chance to breathe. I suppose it’s not surprising that with them all having a great deal of darkness in their pasts that they quite often get bitten by those same pasts. They are constantly fire-fighting issues caused by their families.

All the events in this book occur away from school, over their holiday. Now Peter has been brought fully into the fold he continues with them as they deal with all the issues, despite the danger they all find themselves in on pretty much a daily basis. The problems in this book mainly focus on Luc’s family and we get to spend much more time with his sister and getting know more about her life.

As always there is tonnes of violence and Ever lets of her darkness out in front of her guys, as she begins to understand that they love that part of her too. Though there are plenty of sexy scenes, they are not as frequent as you might expect with multiple teenage boys involved, mainly because they are constantly fighting, moving or exhausted. The book is still filled with sweet moments of affection and love between Ever and her guys, and the support and caring is shared throughout the group, not just between Ever and her lovers.

Though this book could probably do with a good editing, or at least a couple more proof readers, this author continues to draw me in with her fantastic storytelling. The plot zips along and things are constantly moving forwards. I’m never able to put the books down because I NEED to know what happens next. The author is also great at creating interesting and sympathetic characters. I really like Ever and her guys. I love how they’ve all been touched by darkness and have responded in similar ways but are still very different characters with distinct personalities.

I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series because that cliffhanger was a killer. I think the next episode in Ever’s adventures will be worth the wait though.

This is soo good as always, since the ending of the fourth book i was soo anticipated for this one. This whole series is a comfort serie which i go back to if i am in a slump or just don´t know what to read. Ever as always badass and having a stalker after her, i love when she is in badass killing mood. I wanna know more tho about her car racing past, i am waiting for that reveal. The guys is soo sweet and possessive which i love, Atlas, Jensen, Rage is still my fave tho. I do like that we got to know a lot more in this book, more clues and we got to dive deeper in some of the guys and Evers pasts, like damn no one has got a normal or nice past.
yaas another badass woman in this story, Lyric is a new one and she also got her own harem. I soo need Lyric, Ever and Jynx in the same room causing chaos and madness making their many boyfriends go crazy xD
And obviously there is a cliffhanger at the end.... which is even worse than the previous cliffhanger?! I neeed the next one, right now!!

Could be higher rated if the author would comb the editing errors

I enjoy Ever and the guy’s stories but things an editing machine will be unable to recognize is when a properly spelled word is used incorrectly or in place of the wrong word. The author is still using bought in place of brought. I brought that with me, I bought that with me. There are several areas where capitalization and grammar are missing. There are several places where phrases and wording are repeated.

I knew something major was going to happen and naturally it didn’t happen until 97% which is annoying. Authors in general need to stop this type of plot driving, I hate wandering around with our characters waiting for the other shoe to drop, it doesn’t add tension just annoyance.

Overall I still like the idea of the story, I still find their story to be highly fantastical so suspend belief, but I really want to know what the deal with everyone is and why they want Ever or are all in on something shady.

Good and Bad

There’s so much I like about this series. The characters are great, the story is great, the romance, action, it’s all so enthralling and keeps you wanting more. I really recommend you trying Nikita’s stories. But honestly the grammar and lack of even a half decent editor is getting distracting. Don’t get me wrong, these Amazon authors are doing their best and doing it all on their own, which I appreciate. However literally let me edit this series I promise I could improve the quality of the story by 50%. I’m going to continue reading this series until it comes to an end. I’m a loyal fan of this author and story. But this book had a lot of unnecessary fluff and talking that we could’ve done without. Like even so much unnecessary dialogue between characters. Just took away from the bones of the story that made it so good in the first place, almost as if trying too hard to add character and relationship development. That being said, I still liked it a lot and the ending was great. Left a lot to be explore through future books. Can’t wait for the next!

Review of Repercussions by Nikita Parmenter
* * * * *
The Finding My Home series continues with more drama, more action, more knife weilding and gun battles and emotional rollercoasters.

Ever's past is very complicated, so when on dark persona is brought to the group - Shadow - her killer self is revealed.
She's a torturer.
She's more deadly than before.
Which is going to be very helpful considering crap hit the fan and more deadly drama is underway.
Robert is out of prison.
Blake is hunting Ever.
MC craziness and underworld goings are happening more than ever.
Even then the group is growing and getting closer to one another. Rage is starting to lower his walls, Luc is more protective of his family than ever, Jensen is running after squirrels.

Dude! Another cliffhanger and I am still so very hooked! You do me dirty...but I want it!
Cannot wait to see what happens next!

Honestly, these books are just too addictive! I've binged three of these books today (another heatwave in rural QLD, so my butt is staying inside on the couch with a fan), and I just can't seem to put them down.

Things are still trucking along for Ever and her men. Liam and Blake are still causing more trouble for everyone, and Ever has more in store for her as she learns more about her past. The guys are an interesting juxtaposition of sweet, caring and totally devoted to Ever while being an absolute nightmare and as violent as f*ck to anyone else. Maybe not the norm in most romances, but it certainly revs Ever's engine. Still loving that Peter is being pulled into the group. He is such a sassy sweetie, and I love how he balances the group. Also, another cliffhanger ending. All the trigger warnings too, but I'm off to read the next book.

I’m lost for words - that was beyond amazing!

The action, the blood, gore and gun fights - wow!
I love this series and this book doesn’t disappoint, to be honest it blew away all expectations.
It’s written with such detail and emotion, you see Ever and her guys basically fighting for their lives with enemies at every turn. We slowly uncover more of the secrets and they are able to link more things together.
I loved the journey this book takes you on , the highs of fun and fights, the lows of past traumatic events coming to light. It’s beautifully written, I was completely mesmerised and couldn’t put it down until that complete jaw dropping cliffhanger ending had me screaming out loud.
Can’t wait to see how/where the next book takes us.

the love for this series is something that i never expected but here we are already half of the series
i’m going to be honest, i finished this book a couple hours ago go and as am already on the next one, i might get some things mixed up
firstly i knew blake would do something in the end of the book just for the cliffhanger
secondly, loved elena and her boyfriends, it was a cute and unusual discovery as their deep relationship with the ilegal stuff just as our family
loved seeing ever as shadow, and the respect that inferno (i guess that’s his name???) had towards her as she saved his sister
peter is a sweetheart and should be happy
jyxn is such a diva and i love her relationship with ever
i guess that’s what i remember
my favs are still the same

Hmmm

Book 5 and I'm calling for a timeout. This series is too long, bad thing about that is one starts noticing a pattern in the writing. There are 7 MMCs 7!! people, but for some reason Ever ALWAYS finds a way to make everything about her. Not relatable takes a cup this time. I had no interest in "Phoenix" from the get go, so I was already struggling with book 4. I'm no expert or doctor but I don't think this is a supernatural series. Pray tell how bullet wounds and broken ribs heal it 3 days?? I'm a drama queen about paper cuts...

It's a shame, I did enjoy the first couple of books but the learning curve is too much is simply too much.

Well........

That was a doozy of a cliff hanger. Even though I expected it, I was still left going nooooooo at the end of the book. I love this series, it's one of my favourites. I didn't think there was as much drama in it, not did I think we were really told anything new in regards to the bigger picture that they are trying to figure out. I think it was more of a foundation/filler builder. Never the less I love all the guys, all.the new introductions that we got in this one and can't wait for the next.

love it 😍

Oh my word. Seriously everyone of your books is hard to put down and leaves me eagerly awaiting the next book release. I have reread everyone of the books each time a new one is released and I have yet to get tired of rereading one of these books. That is a testament to a great author in my mind is if you can reread a book multiple times it’s like revisiting an old friend time and time after time. Seriously can’t wait to read more and desperately hoping lyric and her guys get a series soon she seems fun.

Couldn’t put the book down!!

This is the fifth book in the series, if you haven’t read any of the pervious be warned spoilers are in this review. Diving right in, the ending of the fourth book a big bomb was drop of Ever to the guys and left on a cliffhanger. We start back with Ever finally letting the guys into her past and how she met Jynx. We see Ever’s and Rage’s relationship continue to grow as well as Luc and Elena’s and the whole gang. Lots more action, never giving them a break. To the cliffhanger again. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Yes for Ever!

Book 5 continues Ever and her band (orchestra) of merry men. After the cliffhanger in book 4 I worried for her. She's starting to trust her past and experience more and she's opening up and building a family. Sometimes I wish that she could just get a break and everything could be unicorns and I'm sure that will happen eventually. In the meantime, I recommend everyone start this series and follow it along.

That ending ruined the book!!!

Sorry but the ending was so dark with no light at the end of the tunnel. Honestly not even sure I want to read the disgusting things that are coming next. I'm good when she's in control but put her with Blake and my triggers are all screaming nope! Sry but if she Doesn't get herself out of this in the first ten pages of the next book you will lose me and I loved this series.

Repercussions, the fifth book of the Finding my Home series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Grammar nerds beware. This is a series (I've read five books back to back before reviewing) riddled with grammar and spelling errors that can't be attributed to an English author writing about American characters. Boy, didn't see a couple of these plot twists coming. An excellent series if you can get over the wrong slang and the typos. Fast-paced, action-filled storyline.

Repercussions

In this fifth installment Ever and her men are still facing challenges with Blake coming after her. They learned that Ever is Shadow in the last book and now that they know her better and still want her. With Robert released from jail Ever and her men rush to protect Elena. They learn so much more there and the ending will have you jumping to the next book right away

Great Series

Still an amazing series. We get much more background on the guys and Ever, plus some family resolutions.
The only reason I deducted 1 star is because the proof reading and editing are almost nonexistent! I hate having to stop the reading fllow to figure out what word or words are missing or simply typos.

But but but!!!

I am totally and completely gutted with how this book ended. Like screaming out loud scaring the whole house, heart beating out of my chest gutted. I loved how in this book though that we get to learn more about Elena and even more about Peter. The twists and turns and some sweet justice that comes in this book was well deserved! I can not wait for more!!!

Really?

I need book 6 now. This series has been amazing. I love the character growth as each book goes on. I love how Ever and her men are willing to not only do whatever they can to protect each other but also protect their family and friends. I canNOT wait for the next book to be released.

This is better

After the reveal of the last book, this one is much better at showing how awesome Ever is. I’ve been waiting AGES for her to actually show her true self and some of the guys are doing it too. There was a much better mix in this book of showing the guys again and going back to see them too. I enjoyed this but it’s far from a favourite.

Damn Ever really can’t even get a moment of peace!

Every time I think Nikita can’t beat the last book she does it again every single time! I can’t put this series down and am binging them at about a book a day with very little sleep and it’s fine because I have to know what happens next!

Great story but needs an editor badly!!!

I love the story. I love Ever and her guys. However, I'm not sure this was edited at all. I'm 5 books in, and the grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors are seriously frustrating. It takes away from the story a bit because there are so many errors. I will keep reading since the story line and character development are so intriguing.

Unrelated to the actual storyline bc I like to make one review at the end of the series but… I may be overly critical and I do know I notice these things more than at least my husband… but this kindle unlimited version of the book has THE MOST TYPOS I HAVE EVER SEEN. It got to a point where it was so distracting from the story happenings, especially in high stakes moments.

Never a dull page

Holy frak! I don't know how she does it, but every book that Nikita Parmenter writes is better than the last, and her cliffhangers are a mile drop before you hit the ground. I love how some plot points are resolved even as new twists take their place. There's never a dull page. She's magic.
