Mom and Dad are home from the hospital, and now sister and brother aren't sure what to expect. It turns out, Mom had to have surgery when the baby was born, and now she needs to rest, but she still loves all three of her children, even if she needs time to recover.
This little book gives light details on what children should expect if their mom has had a c-section and explores ways to be helpful and kind as they adjust to a new baby and a mother in recovery. The illustrations are sweet and warm, and the story, while not particularly exciting by way of conflict and plot, is a helpful resource as kids transition.
This is a wonderful book to show children that even though mum has a new baby, she still loves them. Having a cesarean section is not an easy matter because prevents mums from doing a lot of things with their older children. However, this is only temporary until she gets better and the pain disappears. The big brothers and sisters can do big things with mum, such as hugging her, taking her hands, etc. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an adorable story that helps explain after C-section mommy to little kids. I love that it makes helping out and being thoughtful a privilege for big kids.
Wonderful story to read to the kids when mommy comes home with a new baby and a "boo boo" in her tummy. So cute! Illustrations are bright and cheerful with lots of little things of interest in the pictures.
The complexity yet innocence found within a children's book will always amaze me. This read was quick and easy, but utterly powerful at the same time. I love reading to my children, especially when it's something meaningful and worthwhile.
