In this third book of the A.P. Rawls series of Kori Briggs suspense spy thrillers, Kori has landed in the middle of a South American revolution. Super-secret spy organization Rampart has intelligence that a dictator with weapons of mass destruction is about to be overthrown. But who are the revolutionaries, and are they any less dangerous? The stability of the Western Hemisphere is at stake. Follow Kori through the jungles, hills, and perilous streets of a nation on the brink of war with itself!
There is action, there is romance, there is adventure. And behind it all, there is the incomparable spirit of Kori Briggs.
Dialogue-heavy, fast-paced, secret-agent adventure, ala James Bond, Danger Level 4, A Korie Briggs Adventure by A. P. Rawls, brings the reader into a world where South American oppressive government forces battle the population’s freedom fighters. Expect nuanced characters and robust action.
Clichés flourish, for example, an early baseball metaphor, but their limited life proves not to be totally distracting. Name-dropping like “Kenneth Cole sandals” may be important elsewhere to identify a character, but seems to be at cross-purposes with the protagonist, Kori Briggs. She’s to be a complete professional, not a fashionista or a whimsy character out of “Sex and the City.” As for the latter, what they portray is truly in character, where the character doesn’t morph into a killing machine.
In fiction, neither James Bond nor Sex and the City is by definition bad, just a different story told from a widely diverse and not-conflicting premise. Audiences of each know that and love their story because of it being true to its universe.
Fortunately, for Danger Level 4 readers, Kori does serious things. We may remember James Bond for how he likes his martini, but Ian Fleming didn’t dwell on whether it was Grey Goose or something else.
It’s a drastic suggestion, but if a reader skips the first four chapters and then dives in, nothing of any value will be lost. Then, the reader can read on to enjoy the promised action. I’ll not detail the action. To do so would be a spoiler we’d all regret.

Danger Level 4 is Book 3 in n A Kori Briggs Adventure by
A P Rawls. I thought this thriller was outstanding. There is so much action and I thought A P Rawls did a good job bringing familiar characters from books 1 and 2 mixed with new characters, both good and evil. Agent Kori Briggs is called from vacation to Miranda, South America and an uprising. I thought the A P Rawls did a terrific job of showing the rebels position against President Estrado. A secondary theme is a new love interest with Kori's mother and Bertram. I really liked the ending where everything is ended and the door is left open for another book, which I hope comes soon! Kori is off to Miranda to determine ŵhat is going on. The agent who was there was shot meeting with the rebels. Meeting with the other agent she was informed the state department was siding with the current regime because of the oil companies.
When she arrives she sees a country where the people are afraid of the secret police. Kori posing as a newspaper writer tricks her way into a meeting with the president. Then she meets with the rebels.
This is a fast paced exciting book you won't want to put it down until you have finished it. This is a standalone book which if you haven't read the others in the series you will want to now.
This was my first book from this author, and I was impressed with the plot and character developments. The first few pages so very good that I just wanted to go on. However I think the execution got a little bit sloppy, the twists and turns were predictable. As Kori progressed with her mission there was no longer that element of surprise. Overall it wasn't a bad read and I believe some readers would find it interesting.

Kari Briggs is enjoying a much-needed vacation in the outskirts of Italy.
Abruptly, her vacation comes to a halt. Back to business. She is sent into a country during civil unrest and potentially during a revolution.
Does she maintain the strict neutrality of observe and report? Or does she get sucked into assisting those in abject poverty and purging of those against the elitist in power?
I was so engaged in this story. The only thing I did not like about the book was that it ended. Please read…

I do enjoy the dynamic duo of Kori and Anya. This was not my favorite of the series but the book was still fast paced and full of action. It may have been a bit heavy handed but it didn't take away too much from my enjoyment. And no spoilers but Kori is a good daughter! :-D

another great entry in the Kori Briggs series, it was what I was hoping for based on the previous two books. I was invested in the action and does what I was hoping in the plot going on. The characters does a great job in being real people and I'm glad I was able to read this.
