Clint Wolf #25

But Not Foredoomed

Rate this book
Andy Verdin survived the many perils of World War II, but will the ninety-six-year-old survive the muddy waters of Mechant Loup, Louisiana?

An overdue fisherman, a mysterious object dropping from the sky, a bizarre murder case, and a wife about to go into labor...Clint Wolf has his hands full.

It doesn't help that his sidekick detective, Amy Cooke, is 1,500 miles away on a honeymoon with her new husband, Baylor Rice. Thankfully, Takecia Gayle is on hand to assist Clint with the investigation, but they soon realize they'll need some outside assistance to put this case to bed.

However, will that assistance come in time to save two officers in trouble? That remains to be seen.

Another amazing story!

I do not know how he does it but once again Mr. Bourg has knocked it out of the ballpark. As in previous entries of this series, the action starts on the first page and does not let up till the last. Bring on the next one!

Good Detective Story

Interesting plot keeps you turning pages. But Not Fordoomed , begins with a 95 year old man fishing in a canoe and something falls out of the sky breaking his boat in two with him flying in the air across a bayou broken in bushes. Clint investigates and the rest is a chase to the end. Recommended

A great read!

Another worthy story from NO Borg. Borg knows how to connect security characters into a
riveting mystery/thriller introducing new characters of believable depth & substance. The plot twists & twines, & Borg always weaves In a few sidebar adventures. You know Wolf, Susan & the gang of Merchant Loupe OF Will prevail In The end. However, the scenes & foibles they encounter in the ,mixed with a straight-forward comfortable writing style make ALL Mr. Borg books a MUST READ. Pick up one of Borg's books, any one, but best to start at the beginning and progress enjoyment, and prepare to be Captivated, hooked, and most assuredly entertained. Let's see & READ dozens more. Haven't seen any new London Carter reads lately. I'm sure London is not asleep in the woods of Tennessee. One can only hope for MORE GREAT READS from BJ Borg.
A satisfied & pleased acid reader. Thanks for another engaging tale. C..Brackney

PLEASE HELP READERS or GOODREADS STAFF!!!!!!

I didn't know where to write someone without doing a review, sorry. Anyway this is a book I have read and its a series that I really like but for some reason when I pull up the series its saying I haven't read any but the last 4, none from earlier in the series. I checked other book series I have read and its the same way so instead of it saying READ its back to WANT TO READ, its is the same on single books also not just series. I'm upset because I thought it would stay marked off as read forever not for only a couple of years. I read a lot and now all my first read books say I didn't read them.

Book series that I'm still reading shows I didn't read the first half of the series but I did.
DID ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM? If so what do I do?
If you haven't checked go look up a book you read from a year or 2 years ago and see what it says. If your still reading a series go check the beginning books

Great Read

When looking for a missing elderly fisherman, Clint finds the remains of a destroyed pirogue. Fearing the worst the team start searching the water and banks and find the missing fisherman badly injured and clinging to life. The investigation takes a turn when a car with a body is found in the water and the subsequent investigation brings up historic abuses by a nearby church and the creation of a cult, which the local police are roo afraid to approach. When officers attempting to make a death notification are ambushed and all seems lost, the plot takes another turn and they are saves by unlikely sources. What started out as a simple missing fisherman, ends up being far more complicated and involves several police agencies and jurisdictions and will leave several people dead and injured before the truth is finally revealed.

Plot 4 stars
Characters 4 stars
Writing 1-2 stars
I have several reasons for rating the writing of this novel so low.
1–Every time the characters have a meal, they “wolf” down their food. There are many other ways of describing the process of eating quickly. It isn’t just this book; that same verb is used in every one of his books multiple times. It’s very annoying!
2-Often the same phrase is used multiple times. This even occurs within a couple of paragraphs on the same page. i.e. “daily basis””regular basis “”daily basis” in Chapter One on the same page
3-And, most importantly, the lazy way the author uses paragraphs where he “tells” the reader what will happen instead of “showing” the reader with action or dialogue.

Guesses and Assumptions

This was a last ditch effort to read this series. He just doesn't allow his characters to follow decent procedures or let the evidence point them in the direction to follow. This one has him scratching his head over how to identify the body; dental work? Tattoos? Scars? Never a mention of fingerprints or DNA. Didn't report truck seller to authorities for not reporting sale or taking name of seller, or keeping sales records.
And needs to lose the first person nonsense. Smacks of narcissism and braggery.

This installment is both shocking and unsurprising. Unsurprising in that you know fringe groups can prey on and dominate the weak in the vilest ways, and shocking when you have to face exactly how far they will go. Even though these are fictional characters, you know there are real people in similar situations and can’t help but root for the best after the dust settles.

After some truly dark notes, this book ends on a high… something definitely necessary that left me with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye.

Do Yourself A Favor And Read This Series

So, so good. If you like Sanford's Lucas Davenport you'll love this series as much, if not more.

The author has done a masterful job creating his characters, and plotting the stories.

It's also refreshing, no doubt due to
his former career, to see the accuracy with both police procedure and weapons. No Glocks with safety catches or snub nosed revolvers with suppressors here.

BJ Bourg

I don’t know what else I can say but I guess it will be what I always say about BJ Bourg’s books. If you are not reading his work, you are totally missing out on some of the best stories available. His books are always riveting and impossible to put down. Ready for the next one!

Wow! Another mystery thriller! I think this is the best one yet! Fast pace! Good strong French Southern Louisiana people involved. Being from there it’s like stepping back to my home state. After each book my ^envy to go home gets stronger and stronger! One more book to go then what do I read! I’ll be sorry to finish this series.

But not Foredoomed by BJ Bourg

Once again BJ Bourg has delivered... an exciting, highly intense thriller. A freak accident to a 96-year old fisherman in a pirogue triggers investigation and revealing an avalanche of events in the past as well as unraveling at the time of the accident. Clint Wolf and his team are once again successful in bringing closure to the crimes that have been committed. Eager to read the 26th novel in this series.

Great story

Takecia is investigating a late fisherman who is 92 years old, and when she doesn't find him right away, Clint joins in the hunt. Clint, helped by his dog, finds him after he had started a fire with his pocket. There is a Far ranging murder investigation with Amy on her honeymoon investigating a cult in New Mexico. Outstanding reading

What an amazing story, I could not put it down, I was in suspense with each turn of the page, I was so scared for Amy and Baylor and I was so relieved that the bikies showed up when they did. I love the name Isiah. I can’t wait for the next chapter in the families lives.

Keep them coming

A really great read, that gets you hooked right from the start. TO many times books start off well but then fall down as they cannot keep the interest there with each turn of the page, not here though, excellent from start to finish.

But not foredoomed

Different story in so many ways but definitely one of the best from the many already reviewed. I particularly liked the way it proceeded in the different states and through the eyes of the different people.

Good. Had a couple nice twists. My only complaint with this, and the last few books frankly, is the editing mistakes. Not sure if it is the original writing or the editing but there are more and more errors in the text, which is always frustrating for me.
