Henry and his friends are catching frogs at Brewster Creek. Henry has almost caught the big, huge, king frog 2x but then storms roll in and they have to go home. However, the big frog sneaks aboard the car and follows Henry home. Can he and his friends catch the slippery amphibian before it gets them in trouble?
I like the lesson Henry learns about being honest with his mom about problems and how she can help. I also applaud Henry's teacher who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. It is kind of funny that the frog sneaks into the car, but also sounds like it might be something inspired by a real experience. It's just crazy enough to be true.

An amusing entry in this series. After a day out with friends, Henry discovers that the "King" of frogs has come home with them and is in his bedroom. The three friends try to hide it but it escapes and heads downstairs just as their teacher stops for a visit. Henry uses his magic to try to solve this but as has happened before, it didn't go quite as expected. Their teacher offers a solution that works for everyone to finish the story.

This is a good chapter book for lower elementary as the font is big and easy to read.

1. Why are we taking a wild animal and putting him in a tiny enclosure to be the class pet? C'mon now.
