As a fervent cat lover, I was looking forward to this book, but I guess I expected the "chicken soup" to be a bit more hearty. The pieces were just lacking in substance, and some, for example, the Mr. Bojangles story, were a bit too much like a soap opera. I read about 25% of them but could not read more. It was a nice idea but needed meatier content
If you find people letting cats roam freely wrong, I don't recommend this.
not the same as most Chicken Soup for the Soul books for being inspirational or cute. Many of the stories problems could be solved if people would stop letting cats roam free.
A few stories were worthwhile like "Princess Rumba Has Her Say" and "Melina." I would probably rate this book lower if it weren't for a few sensible stories mixed into its entirety.
This review might be a bit biased because I had the honor of being one of the contributors to this anthology, but the cat-centric stories here are incredible. Each one of them is a joy to read and filled with positivity, which is something we could all use a bit more of nowadays. They showcase the many different ways cats have the ability to touch our hearts and change our lives for the better. They are individuals who more often than not crave our companionship and love us unconditionally.
For all the above reasons, I would definitely recommend this anthology for anyone who loves cats or who wants to glimpse what it is like to interact with these sweet, furry felines.
Generally I am mildly allergic to the Chicken Soup for the Soul books (a quick Google search shows two hundred and seventy-six titles), but my sister did recommend this book. And I did enjoy reading this book.
As is usual in these books, there are one hundred and one affirmational stories, each prefaced by a quote about cats. Each story has to do with cats: old cats, fostered kittens, cats with medical problems, standoffish cats, purring house cats, feral cats, and even robotic cats (for Alzheimer's therapy), all interacting with the contributors who wrote the stories. And I will not deny that I love cats.
I did enjoy this book, but my favorite part was the quotes.
As a cat lover, I absolutely adored these sweet and charming stories! The mischievous kitty hijinks added so much fun and warmth to the narratives, making each tale even more enjoyable. These are cute, heartwarming stories that any cat enthusiast will appreciate. A perfect, feel-good read!
