Rick Sanchez was once a happy, young NASA engineer…buckle in for the backstory on how a galactic rebellion and the discovery of infinite parallel universes made Rick into the jaded nihilist we know and love.
Rick Sanchez has always known he was destined for greater things. When that greater thing calls, will he be ready to answer?
Rick is recruited to join a galactic rebellion, forming a bond with a ragtag group of freedom fighters, mystics, and mercenaries. Can this team of would-be heroes overthrow the Galactic Federation?

Now this comic was so explosive! I couldn’t put it down! The origin story of Rick going to fight the war of the Galaxy.! So many little spoofs to the show, & very informative. The only thing now that I want to learn is a little bit more about his relationship with Diane, Beth’s Mom. This Pre-Morty issue definitely ties in a lot like with him being a genius. In addition, from the comics I’m learning that Rick is always fighting another Rick. So maybe the overall theme is that’s in real life, nothing matters, you’re always going to be fighting for a better version of you? Just a thought.
Silly fun. Comic adaptations of TV shows can be hit-or-miss, but if you like the show, give the comics a try. I liked this one and hope it gets a continuation. tl;dr this is a R&M take on Star Wars: A New Hope.
