Raising Victims: The Pernicious Rise of Critical Race Theory

Rate this book
Exposes how public schools are teaching Critical Race Theory disguised as innocuous “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” initiatives, explains why this is training a generation of children to view themselves as victims, and shows parents what they can do to stop it.

AT THIS VERY MOMENT, YOUR CHILDREN ARE BEING ASSAULTED.

Powerful forces in schools and the media are at work on your children, training them to see everyone—including themselves—through the lens of race. If your kids are black or brown, chances are they are being taught to see themselves as victims—and if they are white, they are being told to live in shame and with the understanding that they’ll never be able to atone for the sins of their race. And the people purveying these lies don’t want you to have any say about any of that.

Shining a spotlight on the founders and advocates of Critical Race Theory, Leonydus Johnson reveals its Marxist origins, its pernicious influence, and its malignant goals. Read this book and you’ll know CRT when you see it. You’ll understand the ideology that is being aimed at your kids and their friends, and you’ll find out what you can still do to fight back.

Easy to Read, Chock full of solid facts

I’ve read many books on this topic and I’m very impressed with how will the author organizes information. It was very engaging and flowed in a way that made you want to keep reading to hear what he had to say. I’m thankful that he took a very difficult topic and broke it down Into easy, manageable pieces that anyone can pick up and start learning how to stand up against this toxic ideology.

This is one of the most informative, well researched, comprehensive books I have ever read. Leonydus spells out creatively the concept of the Marxist ideology of CRT. Brilliant! 😃 As a black woman I think every person of color should read this book! It will open your eyes!

This book covers clearly and accurately the many pernicious details of CRT. It introduces many of the concepts and defects, and clearly names and describes the deceptive practices used. CRT is centered on control of the discussion and our children, and indoctrination and manipulation permeates their effort; they don't use the term in classrooms, they simply slip it into their lesson plans and deny teaching it - hence little Johnny and Sally can't do math or simple reading assignment, but can assign guilt and shame to family members. I enjoyed it very much.

I discovered Leonydus on Twitter, and admittedly picked this book up because it was a flash sale on Audible more than as a priority. Having read a number of books on Social Justice issues, I wasn't necessarily looking for another book on the topic but was interested in his focus on the education system and the debate surrounding Critical Theory (& it's child, CRT) in schools.

This will now be one of the top books I recommend for people open-minded or confused about the tension and vitriol surrounding CRT and DE&I programs.

His passion and bluntness may be a hard read for someone preferring a softer walkthrough of what's going on, so perhaps Thaddeus Williams' book may be better starting point if that's the case. That said, even though Leonydus does not take on every possible nuance or exception in his arguments (which some will use as a reason to reject his conclusions, despite the collective weight of evidence he brings forth), it's one of the most direct, thorough, concise, and multi-faceted examinations of these topics you will find. From the history, to the ideas themselves, to the statistics involved, and even exploring various societal reasons that have contributed to how we got here, he rolls through, examines, runs out, and makes a case regarding the net result of implementing these theories. It is as compelling as it is clarifying for anyone willing to honestly consider what's transpiring before us.

As a Christian, I was not expecting him to include any faith in his book, but I'm grateful for his few points and boldness there, as well. Even if you reject the idea of Christianity, though, his main arguments are grounded in observational, psychological, and practical truths that, unless you're a proponent of the worldview underpinning most of the SJ movement, I don't know how you can refute.

I'm grateful he took the time to collect, study, and share the content of this book (and super grateful for Audible and that flash sale).

There was in medieval times a community environment called the motte and the bailey. Mr. Johnson employs this setting to illustrate a Critical Race Theory practice. It is a bait-and-switch
argument. He has achieved in his enumeration of this, and other CRT weapons, a kind of literary knighthood.
He would denounce the formal title perhaps, but he is the armor-clad avenger for those aggrieved by the perils of the dragon.

-Claims that those not adhering to CRT are sick. Slain by the truth.

-The belief that everything another says or does is meant to harm me (Hostile Attribution Bias.) Knocked out by a proper understanding of human identity.

-The conviction that racism is the key to all America’s troubles. Amputated by actual applications of justice and accountability.

-Equity is the answer to racial discrimination. Torn down by the pursuit and promise of liberty.

-“Racism is generally rampant and pervasive.” Disproved by history, both long-term and immediate.

-“Slavery has uniquely impacted black Americans and can explain the racial disparities that exist today.” Decapitated by the centuries-long and conclusive record of slavery in the world.

Sir Leonydus claims his mission is to help “initiate a true paradigm shift in America that sees our society abandon its vile infatuation with racial identity.” Mission accomplished.

These false ideas have created a battleground in which children are the victims. Johnson writes and speaks to end this collateral damage.

The author pushes back against the concept of Critical Race Theory and its Marxist origins. He provides valid counter arguments as he challenges the ideology, status quo, and the nefarious undertones aimed at the children to accept the concepts as they are being taught and submitted to accept blindly.
