After the soiree at the Lugiria estate, Eisetsu asks Obi for a favor. Eisetsu has been informed that a Bergat loyalist might be lurking in his territory, and he wants Obi’s help verifying the intel. The next day, Obi sets off to visit Tsuruba’s manor. Meanwhile, a suspect aroma wafts throughout the northern lands, raising alarms!

The new arc has begun full-fledged and I'll say, despite how irritating I found Eisetsu at the start, he's hilarious in a way and reminds me of Prince Raj. Beyond that, there's a lot of mystery and intrigue in this volume as we deal with the ongoing aftermath of the Bergat arc.

And with that volume I'm ending my journey with shirayuki. Ever since the 'glowing stones' arc begun the story was very slowly falling down the hill. Literally nothing happens. Freaking man-main lead ain't even present here. I really liked their chaotic dynamics as a team at the beginning, but past 10 or so volumes tell everything but the story it was supposed to tell about. For a romance manga there's so little of it, we're supposed to cheer for every bit of attention we get between main ships which sounds pretty desperate and it is. And Kiki and Mitsuhide not even being a thing? What the actual duck. Just why.
Currently it feels like one big dragged out spin-off, and I neither have time or money for that.
I'm very sorry that author literally just can't let her characters go by wrapping it up at some point

I might have internally did a little dance while jumping up off my couch to quickly write this review because the anticipation is building that something is about to happen and that ending only clarified that something IS happening!

But let me back up, I've enjoyed how this volume was not centering around plants, but a perfume! There are a lot of questions being asked and quite a bit of unknown with some tension that had me really glued to my seat.

And the art was AMAZING! I don't hardly ever talk about it, but it was stunning in this one (and like the other volumes), and really love how expressions are conveyed! Though I am trying to figure out what Shirayuki was seeing in a certain character's face because she seems worried but I don't know why?

I surprisingly came to sort of like Eisetsu! Seeing him apologize and alll the truth come out made him not as much a "bad guy," which I think unknowingly I was making him out to be because he's the only current character I didn't like. LOL!

I LOVED seeing Obi get some spotlight and shine! I don't think I'll ever get over how much he fits the dashing knight because when he came up on a horse to a certain person's house, he looked amazing!

Hoping will find answers quickly and nothing bad happens!

I'm slowly becoming more worried about this series, don't get me wrong I'm still somewhat enjoying it with Shirayuki, obi and ryu but I loved the whole group dynamic.... I do hope they all come together soon.
This was a much thinner volume than the others too.

J’ai apprécié les premiers tomes, observer le quotidien de nos héros et les voir partager de bons moments et approfondir leur lien. Cela nous permet de nous attacher nous aussi aux personnages. Par la suite, nous avons quelques arc plus longs comme celui avec Shirayuki et les fleurs olinmarys ou celui avec Zen et la famille Bergatt. J’ai aimé que chacun ait son arc attitré et arrive à briller sans la présence de l’autre. Le côté indépendant qu’ils ont me plaît. Par contre, autant j’ai beaucoup aimé l’arc avec les Bergatt, autant celui sur les fleurs m’a paru trop longs et même parfois fastidieux à lire à cause d’une profusion de textes et de termes scientifiques qui venaient casser le rythme. Quant à l’arc en cours, je le trouve intéressant mais beaucoup de choses se mélangent et parfois je me demande si l’auteur sait où elle va…

Bref, « Shirayuki aux cheveux rouges » est un bon shojo si on recherche un peu de douceur. Le gros point fort de ce mangas est l’attachement qu’on a pour les personnages (et il y en a beaucoup !) et les interactions qu’ils ont entre eux. Ils sont chaleureux et ça me met du baume au cœur à chaque fois. J’aime l’évolution de Shirayuki, Zen, Obi ou encore Ryu, un peu moins celle de Mitsuhide et Kiki. Quant à l’histoire, certains arcs sont très bons et m’ont donné des frissons, d’autres m’ont paru un peu plus brouillons et maladroits dans leur développement. Malgré tout, ça reste une lecture qui me transporte à côtés de personnages touchants dont j’ai envie de suivre les futures péripéties.

For good reasons, this is starting to feel like a mystery novel! We have a mysterious lady that lures men in by using an alluring scent, but what does she do with those men and why? Also, did we get a hint for where the perfume originates, or was that a red herring?

Regardless, Shirayuki and Obi are on the CASE! You might be asking where Ryu is…. He just chillin’ and worrying a bit away from where those two are sleuthing.

Honestly, the story has been going down hill for a bit now… but I love the characters too much to stop reading this series. I know some people have said the story is boring now, but for me, it’s a fun world I can come to and relax after a long day.
It took me awhile to re-enter this world and remember the side characters and plot because it’s been awhile since I read the last volume, but I actually quite liked the plot of this volume and I can’t wait to start the next one (luckily I have it).

The artwork is very nice, but I’m starting to lose the thread of the story, not to mention any real interest in finding it again. I find the dialogue and intrigue to be too cryptic for me to really understand what’s happening. It feels as if I am always a little confused and then I’m told later what happened.

Watched the anime and knew that the story continued in the manga. It's light fluff. I know that the premise requires Shirayuki and Zen to be together but it would have been more interesting to me if along the way they realized that they are better as supportive friends and she ended up with Obi. Also, she just utters "Zen" way too often.

Sketchy party, questionable perfume, and a mystery woman! I’m excited to see how this party plan the gang made goes. I’m slightly disappointed but also relieved that lugiria was not actually interested in shirayuki and just using her to get to obi for a different plan. Tons of plans going at once. lol hopefully some of these mysteries get solved soon! 😬

Finally, a little mystery makes this work even more fascinating. The substance contained in a perfume. A woman whose identity remains unknown. Eisetsu? What is he really up to? I still don't understand his personality. Shirayuki as a detective is very cute.

An interesting direction that this series is taking. I am enjoying the mystery and I did enjoy that Zen came back in for a little and we got a reunion between our two mains. Also love learning more about Ryu and watching him grow. Can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next.
