Two geniuses. Two brains. Two hearts. One battle. Who will confess their love first…?!
Will Kaguya’s family force her to marry a man she doesn’t love in order to fulfill their political and financial ambitions? As the reign of Kaguya’s father approaches its end, the war of succession between her brothers heats up. Meanwhile, Ai gets a new assignment as a bodyguard, Yu and Miko get cozy on a couch, and…Miyuki accepts a hefty bribe?!
With Kaguya and Shirogane separated, the pressure mounts on Kaguya to conform to her family’s wishes. The rest of the council is potentially at risk, but will that keep them from acting? And will I even care when there’s more stuff between Yu and Ino?
It’s a bit staggering to look at how long this series has been going and exactly how insanely far afield it’s drifted from its original premise compared to the corporate maneuvering and such that populates it now.
After saying that I was perfectly happy where things left off with Yu and Ino… there’s still more! Naturally they’re not quite there yet, but it’s fairly glaringly obvious that they like each other now and the little bit extra here is great. They could do more with it, but if they don’t… I’ll still be perfectly happy.
Hayasaka comes back into the fold for some cohabitation hi-jinx that goes wide ranging in terms of being very goofy and also feeling vaguely incongruous with the serious storyline we’re diving into. The gags this time feel more like an obligation than anything organically drawn from the story.
But that might be part of the charm of this ending, inasmuch as everybody is playing a situation that is absolutely preposterous incredibly straight. It’s definitely got a ‘youth power by way of Saved By The Bell’ nonsensical narrative that I don’t hate.
And it makes a certain amount of tortured sense: if our leads are together and we want to see things close out with some of the vintage maneuvering we started with, well, get the business world, familial obligations, and their respective machinations stirred into the mix.
And and, it’s not like it can’t do some excellent work. Shirogane makes a choice that seems shocking at first, but then goes into a pretty stellar monologue about Kaguya’s namesake that really shows exactly how practical (and impractical) he is and just how far he’s actually planning to go for his love.
The pieces are slowly moving into place and I’m happy enough with where things have gotten for most of the characters that I think this is really a good stopping point for these kids anyway. One last big gesture should send it off perfectly.
If you really need the story to be the way it was, then you’ll hate the way this goes, but I think that ship sailed so long ago that you’re likely here, like me, because you like the characters even when they aren’t engaged in endless bouts of brinksmanship.
4 stars - I have no complaints; adjust down if this seems even more ridiculous than normal, but it’s not like this story’s even been crazy realistic anyway.
If I were binge-reading this volume, it's a wild ride. I enjoyed it, but it ain't my favorite volume. I do have some favorite scenes and some well-liked chapters. I like this volume enough to give it 3 or 3.5 stars. The weekly chapters are well worth the wait!

Note - Skimmed Volume 25 (Chapters 242 to 251) on Apr 4, 2022.

I read through nearly half of v. 24 of this series before realizing I'd read it before. Ah, right. A dialogue with "licking eyeballs" as a subject. Moving right along...
I had completely expected the endgame of this series to be predictable and not very interesting. Kaguya, doomed to a loveless marriage! Love conquers all!... ho-hum. But there were a couple of things that have made this sequence a little more interesting. First, . Second, that Was this mentioned before? I've been reading this series as the volumes come out, more or less, and that could have been mentioned in passing at some point and I forgot. Either way, his lack of resentment toward Kaguya is pretty admirable.
I liked how Miko and Yuu finally got together, in a way that shows how their personalities have been acting against them, and that shows them to be a couple with a very different style of interaction than Kaguya and Miyuki. And it was a lot of fun seeing what each character contributed to the idea board toward the end of the volume. A plan's only interesting when it doesn't survive contact with the enemy--or those standing in opposition--so I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out.
Book: Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, Vol. 25 Author: Aka Akasama Rating: 4 Out of 5 Stars
Things are picking up and getting intense. I do have to say that I love where this is going and I cannot wait to see how this is going to end. I am very interested to see how the author is going to wrap this up.
Our characters have found themselves in situations that they never thought they would have. People are being kidnapped and forced into marriages that they don’t want. The remaining characters have to team up and save their friends. It’s going to be full of war, as they will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. It’s a race against time.
This is what I am talking about. I love the high stakes and the amount of action that we are getting. I hope that the author keeps up with this. The last time we got an arc like this, the action just kind of vanished. I hope that the author keeps it up. I am interested to see how these people fight it out. All of these characters have such brains and it will be interesting to see how they put their intelligence to use.
Now, I will admit that you do have to suspend your belief on the plot. I don’t know if things like this actually happen, but it seems to be pretty commonplace in the manga. Once you get over the fact that the chances of this happening are pretty slim, you will find yourself having a great time.
I can’t wait to see how the author finishes up this series. I will be reading the next volumes very soon.

I really love how the story is progressing and the way Aka Akasaka is raising the stakes for this final arc. I love seeing how all of the characters grown and changed. I also really liked seeing how much the other student council members care about Kaguya and how they plan to save her. Seeing everyone team up against the Shinomiya family. It was also very interesting to learn more about Kaguya's brothers and the Shinomiya family in general. I'm excited to see how the story continues and eventually wraps up with the next three volumes.

The series is now down to the final 4 volumes, and the pace has always been great, but it does feel like we reached the top of the hill and are now cruising downhill towards a dramatic conclusion. So much happens and I won't ruin it, but its eye popping to say the least. While enjoyable, this does feel different, and I cannot say it is a welcomed change. I love how Aka Akasaka has evolved the series throughout the volumes, but I also feel some moves feel like missteps. But I have trusted the process this far, I'm in it until the end!

AAAHHHH I have to wait until August for volume 26, and I'm very sad about that.
The development between Miko and Ishigami is beginning to 'heat' up, Kaguya has been kidnapped by her family, and Miyuki gets a very depressing call from Kaguya....
It's been a great ride, and I'm so scared of what's to come with 26, 27, and the finale 28.
It's kinda sad to see when your comfort manga turns all serious, but it's a good story. Ai and Miyuki's part was fun. The plot went from 20 to 100 real quick, and it didn't feel rushed. Succession battles are so lit.
Miyuki, taking 1 billion yen, was unexpected, but I'm excited to see what he's going to do now! MISSION RESCUE KAGUYA IS ON!
The abrupt turn this volume took in the middle kinda took the wind out of its sails. The family feud isn't very engaging so I'm kinda disappointed it's going to feature as the big final set-piece. Despite that, I'm looking forward to the last few volumes!
Oh look you got intense drama in my rom com. This volume easily shows how Akasaka went onto write Oshi no ko. The student council deals with Kaguya being gone and from their they do everything in their power to get here back. It's truly a page turner.
3.5 I like the fight but not all that interested , also i cant form a solid opinion on makis brother . I wanna like him because his reasoning makes sense , I hope we see his character development and I love ishigami.
