Fallen Realm #3

Queen Rising

Rate this book
The hardest fight is still ahead.

Zosia: Lorcan is no longer the man I fell in love with. He saved my kingdom, yet he betrayed me, and lied about it. I don't know who either of us are anymore.

I have a ruined kingdom to restore, by any means necessary. I've become what I never wanted to be: a Queen.

My dreams of academia and modernity are dead. I'm alone and always will be...unless I can find the inner strength to rise above our past mistakes. Leave my own mark on the long history of my country.

Reclaim my heart, along with my crown.

Even knowing a happily ever after was coming, it was a pleasure to discover how everything came together.

A brilliant end to a wonderful series.

I enjoyed this series and I like how everything was closed off, but I wish it would have taken less than all three books to get there. I feel that even in this installment that was meant to be the end, there was so much backtracking for the characters. I didn't really feel Zosia's growth until right around the end. I also was getting pretty tired of the "will they won't they" vibes. It was either a fight or it was some kind of spicy scene to make up for that but I felt like it was too much back and forth. I did like the customs and rituals introduced in this book and I thought they really moved the story forward. I really wanted to root for Zosia and I'm not discounting her experiences, but she felt so whiny to me at points. Overall, I enjoyed parts of this book but I think it fell flat for me as well.

Jesus Christ. Can’t believe Lorcan got mad when Zos was too bitter 😭 like man seriously? You’re fucking gross. Also Zos is disgustingly pathetically pining and pining. Every PARAGRAPH is her pining over Lorcan it’s tucking tiring to read redundant passages of her PINING AND PINING.

I GET IT ZOS. You will not marry Lorcan, you can’t trust him, you can’t forgive him fully but you’re always so jealous and it’s in every chapter and it’s getting pathetic now 🥶

It’s disgusting how Zos still wanted to fuck him and have his child even though SHE KNEW he fucked the half female population of their country. Talks about puke worthy 🤮

In the middle she herself was excusing Lorcan just to fuckin accept his proposal and it was disappointing to read and everything just went downhill after that for me.

1.75 stars 🌟 It’s been a while since I read the first two books in the trilogy and at the time I thought they were good. Not great. But good. But since then I have developed my reading style. Read more fantasies. And let’s just say it’s no where near those books.

A good series if you want to get into romantasy and fantasy. But at times, this book made me want to throw my kindle. Zosia the FMC, was so annoying. About 5% of this book is actual speaking the other 95% is the same 5 thoughts going round and round in her head. I get that it’s trauma but please, change the topic now and then.

rinse wash repeat

This book didn’t have the same amount of redundancy than the second book, however, it seemed to have a hard time getting the point across. Too much inner dialogue as the other books and not enough dialogue between characters. The last few chapters seemed in a rush to conclude book. Then it had oil and gas bashing, which is a natural resource. I’ve purchased all four books in bundle. Hopefully it will have more depth.

Zosia felt disappointed in the people she loved for not being there for her. She can't forgive Loran for what he did and not tell the truth of not waiting for her or saving her. Loran tried to make amends to her so she could love him again. He was helping Zosia rebuild her nation and get rid of attackers. They have a long way to fix their relationship but not until they start trusting each other.

Relief and delight

It is rare to find a novel with such a deep insight into so many forms of trauma. Rather than triggering, I found these novels totally authentic and empowering. A creative, innovative new world with powerfully real characters. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend this series.

The 3rd book in the Fallen Realm series and the story will keep you on your toes. Lorcan is not the man he makes himself out to be. What's a girl to do? Drama, adventure, action, great characters and amazing storyline.

He swears he will be hers but she does not believe him as he had betrayed her before. She knows her people would be happy if she took him as her king but she believes all he wants is her crown. Will he betray her again? Will she give him another chance? See if she will

A main character has never annoyed me more for 3/4s of the book. She was so repetitive and petty and bitter for so much of the book and then it was a paragraph like and it flipped full 180 and she just forgave everything.

I would read this if your hobbies included running marathons with two broken legs. The trauma to happiness ratio was not in favor of the reader.
