KRONOS RISING: PURGATORY (A Fast-Paced Sci-Fi Suspense Thriller) : Book 6 in the Kronos Rising series

Rate this book
Can even a demon survive Hell on Earth? (Comes with 4 full-color, graphic art illustrations!)

Tartarus’s reactor still burns in the aftermath of the Kraken’s fury as a reborn Jake Braddock steps out of the Remora submersible, with murder on his mind. He finds himself in the last place he expected to Diablo Caldera, the savage, Cretaceous-era island where the pliosaurs infesting the world’s oceans came from. Undeterred, the seven-foot man-reptile advances. But his plan to exact revenge upon the man who ruined his life and murdered the woman he loves runs into a brick wall.

A wall with teeth.

Diablo’s primeval jungles are infested with legions of Homo sauridae , the man-eating creatures created as a result of Eric Grayson’s vile experiments. Jake soon finds himself embroiled in a bloody fight for his life. The bipedal saurians are a mindless, slavering mob. They cannot be reasoned with. Even worse, they’re starving.

And Jake is on the menu.

If you're a fan of dinosaur books for adults like Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park and Lost World , must read adventure books like Greig Beck's To the Center of the Earth series, or amazing action stories a la Steve Alten's Meg franchise, you're going to LOVE the Kronos Rising series!

Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Jake has had an eternity to measure his hate and assess the loss that had befallen his family. His immense loss was immeasurable and the loss of his wife his one true love and one who was a lover of human kind, one of the first who promoted conservation and she had paid her penalty very early in her life. Killed in a grisly way fed to a behemoth.
The children he never came to know. Their loves their lives.
His descent to cannibalism propelled by the Cretaceous bacteria and subsequent mutation was in itself a grisly and gory trip.
All these would add up to his hate and tempered by time.
His target Dr. Grayson.
A perfect revenge drama.

Poetic justice has never been so deserved. This book goes into the terrific details of how Jake gets his longed for revenge on Grayson, the person who single handedly took away his life and family. The reptilians were no match for Jake and he leaves nothing but their mangled remains in his wake. Bravo Max on another action packed novella in the Kronos Rising series. A+++++!!!!!

Great thriller

Wow. Hawthorne has done it again!

Absolutely loved this novella it was nonstop action from start to finish and left me breathing hard and wanting more. You know when your not willing to take a bathroom break in order to finish a chapter your reading a seriously good book. And it was serious. And good.

I dont think I have given a Hawthorne book less than 5 stars however despite thus still being a great read and action packed I felt the depth was just off from previous books. Despite Graysons broken jaw more interaction would have been good and whats in that suitcase. So for me a thoroughly enjoyable book but just short of superb.

Jake's back, and revenge couldn't be any sweeter.

Jake's back and this time, revenge is on his mind. As is survival. Seeing the former lawman in action brings a good ending to a great series. But you'll still be craving more.

Kronos Rising Purgatory

More dystopian by the second, the action continues apace in this novella.

Review of this book.

This was the culmination of the book and series so far. I am looking forward to reading the next book to see where this goes. The books just keep getting better and better. This author knows how to keep the story going forward. Kudos to the author.

A truly remarkable story! The writing style is elegant and immersive, making it easy to get lost in the world the author created. The characters were well-drawn and their arcs were satisfying. I didn’t want it to end. This one is definitely going on my favorite list. A perfect escape!

Well written and entertaining read

Continuing the saga, focusing on jakes story, and the inevitable revenge to Dr Grayson. Unfortunately not as long as the previous books, but a riveting read none the less

good epilogue of sorts

Purgatory is a nice epilogue novella to the Kronos Rising series. If you liked that, and finished them all, this is a great follow up!
