Will she embrace her inner demon to face the ultimate evil?
Velos and the Nameless blade have been stopped—for now.
Sepia has managed to manifest the Jade Demon, but there is one problem: with each transformation, she loses a part of herself to the demon within. The Order has declared her Unholy and banned from the Hunters.
When Chimera, the Nightmare Lord, formulates a plan to destroy the wards around the Park, Sepia must gather the remaining Hunters to stop him before he unleashes all of the Unholy.
Now Sepia, the Sisters, and the remaining Hunters must face the greatest Unholy threat in history. Together, they must stop Chimera before the wards collapse, the Unholy escape, and humanity is wiped out.
Can she use the Jade Demon to stop Chimera? Can she harness the power within to defeat the Unholy, or will she surrender to the darkness and lose herself forever?
Orlando Sanchez has been writing ever since his teens when he was immersed in creating scenarios for playing Dungeon and Dragons with his friends every weekend. An avid reader, his influences are too numerous to list here. Some of the most prominent are: J.R.R. Tolkien, Jim Butcher, Kat Richardson, Terry Brooks, Piers Anthony, Lee Child, George Lucas, Andrew Vachss, and Barry Eisler to name a few in no particular order. The worlds of his books are urban settings with a twist of the paranormal lurking just behind the scenes and generous doses of magic, martial arts, and mayhem. Aside from writing, he holds a 2nd and 3rd Dan in two distinct styles of Karate. If not training, he is studying some aspect of the martial arts or martial arts philosophy. He currently resides in Queens, NY with his family and can often be found in the local Starbucks where most of his writing is done. Sepia Blue was my introduction to the author, and his amazing stories. Sepia Blue Demon does not disappoint, the action and tying together all the characters to a satisfying conclusion, is an intricate dance of martial arts and sword play. As a reader, I am extremely satisfied with this conclusion of the series. And the ending was, outstanding... I highly recommend reading this finale to a great series.
From book 1 to book 5, Orlando Sanchez tells an amazing story. These urban fantasies are unlike any you have read on the past. A combination of magic and Samaria style fighting, they are unique. Sanchez story telling brings you along for an awesome ride. Great characters, twists and turns, you cant go wrong. In this installment, the last book of the series, our hero, Sepia is finally finding out what it means to be a hero. Sacrifices, losses and hard decisions. She has friends who help her and enemies that despise her. Sanchez makes you root for her the entire time and she is not in it alone. A must read series.
I'm so sorry this series has ended, but if it had to end, this was a good conclusion. Sepia has hit the point where she has to either embrace the jade demon or face the possibility that the people and city she loves could be annihilated. The story is terrific, with the authors signature snarky dialog, and fast-paced action. I liked the character of Sepia Blue; her inner dialog, her caring for her friends, her uncertainty about her ability to handle, and reluctance about, what she is becoming. As usual, the secondary characters are very good, are fleshed-out well, and add so much to the story. There are a couple of big surprises here, no spoilers, but wow! That ending and an unexpected betrayal I didn't see coming. If you like high adventure, fast-paced fantasy, with terrific characters and a wonderful story, do yourself a favor and pick up this book! Better yet, be sure to read the entire series to get more good tales and to understand the threads and characters of this one. Bonus that it's all on KU.
Having waited for this last Sepia Blue, it did not disappoint! Sepia has to deal with the Chimera and the Nameless in an epic final confrontation that could be either good for the city or end horribly for the city and for all she holds dear. She is still trying to come to grips with this new power in her when she learns of this threat and must learn how to use her powers. So many have already lost their lives that she must come to grips with the Jade Demon and be ready for the final confrontation. Will she learn her powers? Will she defeat the Chimera and save the city and the day? Gotta read this final installment for a fantastic and unexpected ending!
The thrilling finale to the Sepia Blue saga. Sometimes to make yourself complete you need to embrace your inner darkness. Orlando Sanchez has done a fantastic job wrapping up Sepia's adventure. Betrayed by the leadership of the Hunters, Sepia is on her own against the Unholy who are held in the park by soon to be failing wards. Following in her mother's footsteps it is her destiny to embrace the power of the Jade Demon and defeat the Chimera. But things do not always work out the way you want
It all comes down to this, Sepia has to embrace who she is or everyone is dead. Help comes from unexpected sources, betrayal attempts to interfere and those blinded by power do their worse. Surprises await as well as this world collides with the Metaverse, all in all a fitting ending to Sepia's journey in this plane.
Even though it took a very long time to finish this series, I was pleased it ended appropriately. I loved this series. It had great world building and the characters came to life. Orlando you ended the story with just a slight cliff hanger but I was happy with this series. Very well done. BTW I am a huge fan of M&S.
This is the final book in the Sepia Blue Series. I always admire a writer that does a great job in tying up all the lose ends, having the character grow throughout and finally leave the reader with the imagination part that the heroine gets it all in the end.
What was the wait? 7 or 8 years? Totally worth it. I first met the author with book 1 and he hooked me on Sepia's story. I was invested in the outcome. The final book in the series had lots of action and thoughtful wrap up.
Orlando continues to create an amazing world and storylines that are extremely compelling. I love his style of writing and his complex characters . He blends the present day NYC into a fantastic journey.
I was lucky enough to be introduced to this series AFTER reading the Montague and Strong series, my only complaint is I’m ready for MORE!!! These have been an awesome adventure and cannot wait for more!!! Thanks again Mr. Sanchez👍👍👍👍
Orlando, thank you for completing Sepia and doing so in a truly wonderful way. You always entertain and delight. Please continue for many years to come.
Sepia Blue Demon by Orlando A Sanchez is just amazing and is a journey that represents what Nietzsche was referring to in his comment about being “…careful when you cast out your demons…” From the beginning, the story is built around the characters and their choices. And of course there is plenty of action also. At times it must seem to Sepia that she is being pushed toward a future determined by others and that she has no choice. But in the end, it is all about choice. And of course there are a few surprises for you. I was not expecting that ending. All I can say is WOW! This story is a must read. I loved it.
