To anyone who works in the nonprofilt world, I have to recommend this book to you! Most books about nonprofit management are really just lessons adapted from for-profit environments, which doesn't give a fair representation. This comes up with a completely unique approach, thinking about the specific challenges those in the nonprofit world face, and identifying solutions meant intentionally for those challenges. * She clearly spent a ton of time researching and thinking through a full range of nonprofit issues. This is told with a great blend of personal stories intermixed with quotes and examples from others so you know you're getting a diverse perspective. * It's also written in a way that's really approachable. It's easy to follow the logic, there are clear call-outs so you easily find a section or remind yourself of the key point, and the mix of examples keeps it really relatable. I have had to read a lot of leadership books recently for various training classes, and this one stands out! * If you're interested in something new in nonprofit management, something thought-provoking and entertaining, I can't recommend this enough!
Lots of good food for thought. I work in a museum so some aspects didn't apply completely, but quite a lot did. Griffin has a really engaging writing style and gave lots of examples so you could understand the various topics and how she viewed them.
