Rate this book
The year is 94NE and the only absolute in this new world is the death of freedom. Peace is a memory and equality is an illusion to keep the Simpletons in their place. The elite class, also known as The Order, dictates the lives of the surviving people with what they call, The Life Program. Each day is meticulously scheduled and tracked through a microchip implanted at birth.
Samantha Wells is a damaged Simpleton, according to The Order’s standards. If they knew her rebellious thoughts against the program, she would be dead. The only thing that has kept her going is a forgotten journal that she discovered years ago. If this secret was uncovered, it would bring death to her family.
As her eighteenth birthday approaches, Samantha is faced with another predetermined milestone in her Life Program; marriage. In a world where love and trust have been abandoned, can Samantha find the strength to carry on, or will her rebellious spirit awaken a courage to discover her true self?

A heartbreaking & heartwarming dystopian action/romance with a unique spin.

What a wonderful book, I loved every scene, I felt every moment, and I will never forget this story. I don’t give out a lot of 5 star ratings but the truth is that this book went above and beyond. The story was powerful, the writing was stunning, and the way every single piece of it was woven together was simply breathtaking.

The world building was fantastic, seems like the author really worked hard on this. I really enjoyed this book. It was so exciting to imagine what is going to happen next. As the story progresses, it gets better and better, the plot really gets going and it had me gripped. It’s an adventurous book with a really nice love story. The characters are so real and relatable. The whole book is written so beautifully, I really loved the writing style of this author. I must say that the writing is flawless and at times attractive and the story is not compelled by a plot, it's driven by its characters, their emotions and their development.

The story will definitely leave you on the edge of your seat. I really wish I could articulate everything that I love about this book, but I think the best way to share what I'm feeling for the book right now is to recommend it to everyone I know.

i gave this book 3.5 stars,I just can't put that on here. I loved the concept and the world SL West created. For a dystopian, it has the bones to be a cut above the rest. The author has a lot of talent, I just wish that we got a deeper dive into The Order and there was a little more plot. At times, I felt like the book leaned really heavily into, "do I like Alex or am I just head strong" which for a YA book works well! So maybe that is just my taste as a reader coming out.

The FMC is headstrong and loyal and the MMC is everything you want in a morally good guy. They work good together and they have good chemistry. I wish we got to learn more about both of their pasts. We get a little of it but hopefully in book 2 it really dives into what makes these characters who they are.

The pacing of the book was good, it slowed down a little in the middle but it picked right back up at the end! It was a joy to read this book and I would and have already recommended it to other readers!

History gives us a glimpse of that arena when these fundamental rights were nonexistent and people were exploited till their death. The more powerful a person becomes demands for control increase and to make that possible they cross the lines of humanity. Let's take a tour of that world with these types of scenarios and understand the rebellion. Introducing FREEDOM RISING by SL WEST.

•The book starts with the description of this world where there is no freedom, everything is monitored or controlled by people who belong to the elite class. These people have made a group known as The Order so that they can keep track of middle-class and lower-class people throughout their life cycle. A microchip is planted in these people from their birth and they have to follow the program that has been pre-decided for them. No right to decide is present for these people, if they don't follow then are going to be beaten to death. But some people break the rules or try to fight against injustice so that everything runs normally. Similarly, here there is a woman, Samantha B. Wells who has recently turned 18 now according to the protocol she has to get married but she believes in something different.

What are her thoughts? Will she be able to fight for her rights? Who is going to stand with her? let's read and find out!

•The book is very well described that gives a lively presentation to the readers. The characters are very well suited according to the demand of the plot. You will be able to relate to and understand the complexity of the system as presented by the author. The story will give a thrilling, exciting, and emotional ride as you will read through it.

•The Language of the Book is Lucid, hence maintains a flow throughout the reading process. The Cover of the Book is Fabulous and the Title of the Book is Well-Chosen.

Recommendation? Yeah highly recommended to everyone who is reading this review. I'm definitely sure that you'll love it !!

Freedom Rising

Freedom Rising is a dystopian fiction by Author SL West who encounters the readers to a new world which completely opposite and atrocious to the world we currently live in. The author has weaved a dismantle world where death is the only freedom any person could ever have.
This brutal world has been segregated into two classes of individuals, first the Ordeals who are the dictators, always ruling over and doing monstrous behavior towards the second class that are the Life Program who are daily created and destroyed mercilessly and are tracked through a microchip.
The major part of the story highlights the tough journey of a life programmer Samantha Wells and how she tackles and hides secrets from the Ordeals which they must never know, else her whole family would be dead.
Will she ever be able to trust someone for a big decision like marriage?

I personally loved this blend of dystopian science fiction plotline, the narration and the storytelling was lot similar to mysterious and suspense genre, and the thriller segments of the book got me goosebumps. I absolutely enjoyed the crooked journey.

The story is compelling, but not as well developed as it could be. The author delineates which character's point-of-view is given in each chapter, but their voices are not distinct. This book has the potential to be great with another editing pass or two. I hope the author continues to hone her craft. She has some raw talent.

Got a Singed copy of the book from the author! So had to give it a read, the reason for only three stars though was I felt the whole time that something was missing. I do not know if it was just a me thing where I'm used to these LONG 500+ pages with a lot of fluff or with a lot of dialog. I will be putting book two in my TBR and eager to read.

Unfortunately the writing felt too raw for me in this one. The plot was very exciting though. But I felt disconnected at points from the interactions. I wanted to be more immersed. Will keep an eye out for more from West in the future though.
