Why should they be happy and not him? A nail biting mystery thriller novella.
An egotistical student is terrorizing a small town by wrapping his victims in carpets. Until Nobody, a hired detective arrives, - a vigilante who is clearly not from these parts of town and whose skills are unknown.
Any loving couple that intrigues Tyler is found dead and wrapped in carpets... why should they be happy and not him? One of them, a high school couple from Tyler’s school, is trying to protect each other as they brace for the worst. The detective fears what the outcome might be. He’s experienced enough to realize how dire the situation is. Now it’s time to teach the nefarious Tyler a lesson in fear. But in turning predator to prey, will Nobody be able to divert the outcome?
Stevens, in Bleeding Carpets, has created some unique and memorable characters. The story itself is unique, as-well-as weird and unrealistic. Things like a private detective who calls himself “Nobody,” and a serial killer who kidnaps and holds his victims prisoners in his bedroom in his father’s house while he tortures and kills them make the temporary suspension of disbelief difficult. I mean, what kind of PI would call himself “Nobody”? What kind of serial killer would hold his victims prisoners in his father’s house while torturing and killing them? Who would want to risk being caught as he carried their bodies out rolled up in the carpet? In the end, the way this story ends, left me saying what happened here? It left me wondering about who “Nobody” was and wondering about why he acted the way he did in the end.
I enjoyed the read. It was entertaining, but it’s not a book that I will read again.
Bleeding Carpets, my second (short) read from author B.P Stevens, was a 39-page-read that grabbed me and kept me reading until I finished it in less than a half-hour. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and in particular Chasing Memories (Shadow Man Book 2). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This is an ARC and a new author for me. This is a quick read but well written and keeps you going to the end. Nobody is a P.I. hired to find who is killing teens and leaving their dead bodies wrapped in carpets. As Nobody starts his search he quickly realizes that their is one person who could be the killer but he needs to prove it. Then he finds out that two other teens have disappeared. Can he find the teens before the killer strikes again?
Tyler is tired of being ignored by women, despite acting chivalrous and kind to them all. He decides to target women who are in relationships because the competition against one man is easier than competing for a single woman. Nobody is hired to investigate the kidnapping and finds himself in a difficult situation when confronting Tyler. This is an extremely quick read and follows two different characters.
This free short ebook was a very short read that was interesting in itself. It was about teens who had gone missing and murdered in a small town in the middle of nowhere. A P.I. was hired to find the murderer. In the end, the murderer had been someone nobody suspected. I haven't read anything before this author, so i can't compare this authors writing to others. This short book was not something I would ordinary read, but for free, it was nice to read something short in between my longer books.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Intense quick read. At first I was a bit confused as the P.I.'s name is Nobody, that's it just Nobody, it took a moment for me to adjust my comprehension, but the author did a good job in differentiating with the story, I'm new to this author but I expect I'll be enjoying more tales. I recommend this short well written suspenseful story to the crime story lovers.
This was a new to me author and if this book is any indication of his work I will be looking forward to reading more. It was a quick read with interesting characters and a mystery that kept me guessing. I’d definitely recommend trying this book. I don’t think you would be disappointed.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
A young man a loner with a secret mission, kill boys that mistreat their girlfriends. Nobody a private detective is hired to find the towns killer. Fast paced, a clear storyline and a little on the twisted side. It was a short story that I picked up in a promo. It was kinda young adultish reading, hence the three stars.
I'm intrigued to the very end. I love characters. Taylor got my full attention completely. I want to be in Taylor's mind to understand his thoughts in a good way. I believe Nobody have a thing for the young waitress who gave him heads up about Taylor. This book is going to be in my book collection guaranteed. Iler.
This book is different. the story is good, but lacks any action. A killer who keeps and kills his victims in his fathers house and the father doesn't hear a thing, that part was hard to swallow, but the rest was alright.
This book is the very definition of unputdownable. I wanted to read just a few pages to see if I liked it and ended up by reading the whole story in one go. If you like well written suspense this is the book for you!
Teenage couples are being murdered. The males quite violently. The girls are strangled but otherwise unmarked. This is a small town so it has to be one of their own. The question is....... who?
I received a free copy of Bleeding Carpets through BookFunnel and have chosen to leave a review.
I joined this author’s newsletter and was able to access this short story involving a serial killer and the person hired to find him. I enjoyed this fast read. For those who like quick reads this one is really good.
Allow about two hours for this DARK PG15 thriller in which the black PI known as Nobody takes the case of the murdered teenage couples in the town in the middle of nowhere. I had a free book via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary review. 5*
An interesting and short story. A P.I. is hired by owner of a small town restrauant. It seems she was catering to teens but lately a rash of murders involving teenagers were hurting her business. Can the hP.I. Help to end the trend? Well worth the time to read.
This was an interesting read. I thought the characterisation of Tyler, in particular, was very good and descriptive. Nobody was just weird and unusual to me. I couldn't relate to him at all but with a name like Nobody I guess that's not surprising. The story was good, full of twists and turns.
who is taking these teens and killing them and then wrapping them in old carpets and why??? So Cherry hires Nobody to track down the murderer. I enjoyed this story and recommend the book.
