The Boys of Summer are chilling out and hitting the slopes in Jennifer Seasons' fun and sexy new DIAMONDS AND DUGOUTS tale about a second chance at bat and the courage it takes to step up to the plate.

Pulled home during the holidays to Fortune, Colorado by a family obligation, the last thing Major League ballplayer Russell MacKade wants is a run-in with his ex. Talk about striking out. When his teammates crash his private weekend and drag him skiing, hiring a ski instructor for the day is no big deal. That is, until the instructor turns out to be his ex--the only person who's ever nailed Russell's strike zone. Seeing her again is a game changer, for sure. Now he's assessing all the plays and angles, all his moves. And this time, he isn't walking the bases.

All Rachel Goldberg has ever wanted is a second chance with the only man she's ever loved. After a decade of waiting, she's pretty sure it's never going to happen. But then Russell's teammates hire her to teach them to ski and not only is he back, he's better and hotter than ever. Now he's frying her brain and scrambling her signals. Driving her crazy and making her want all kinds of impossible things. Things that have nothing at all to do with her head or the heartache she suffered after the last time she fell for Russell--and everything to do with her heart.

Will this explosive pair step up to the plate and make a play for true love, or will they bunt and let the past keep them from finally making it all the way to home base?

I've always enjoyed books by Jennifer Seasons' and Home Base was no different. It's a second chance romance, which I'm not a huge fun of. I know second chances are so romantic! This one works because they really are so young when it all went down.

This is a quick moving story that has you laughing more than once. I so enjoyed it. I really like the guys of her Diamonds & Dugouts series and this overlapped with her Fortune, Colorado series slightly. I love when that happens. Catherine Coulter used to do that with her historical's. Have characters weave into another series may it only be for a party. Love to visit.

Like I mentioned this one moved fast. You already had the ground work of the romance done so really it was only a matter of them connecting again. The author does a good job of that and in the end you kinda chalk it all down to the fact that they were kids and though they most likely made the right choices for them, it was all handled badly.

Both characters a likable and the interaction with them along with a few characters for the Diamond & Dugouts series (you'll have to read it to find out who) worked well into the story. Gave it and them more depth. I was really cheering for these two to work out their issues and see their lives through the eyes of an adult, not a baby adult.
