Dr. Wesley Donahue in his workbook Resolving Team Issues and Challenges highlights the role of a leader and the role they play to effectively lead a team. Consistent with his other workbooks, each chapter has exercises for the conscientious leader to analyze how they manage organizational conflict.

Donahue provides realistic advice and suggestions on how a leader can improve themselves and lead their subordinates successfully. The book exposes managers to standard conflict resolution methods and provides a means for them to understand the nuances of personality differences.

The book’s self-assessment questions incites reflection and reveals the changes managers and leaders should make. I recommend this book for those who require help in identifying and addressing the basic causes and issues within their organization. This workbook is a systematic step-by-step guide that names actionable strategies to effective leadership.

Great for training and team exercises

Resolving Team Issues and Challenges: A Competency-Based Approach to Understanding Challenges Faced by Work Teams and Actions to Resolve Them by Wesley Donahue is the fifteenth of sixteen workbooks in his Competency-Based Approach Workbooks. I’ve read and tried out many of these workbooks and their activities. I honestly think this is the best series for management trainees to read. Donahue uses the Centrestar Competency Model, which defines and organizes professional competencies into five categories: Resource Management, Professional Competence, Supervisory/Management, Organizational Leadership, and Technical Acumen. Each book focuses on three key areas, which for this book are: Teamwork, Problem-Solving, and Conflict Management.
As it is a workbook, it’s good for working alone or with co-workers or another group. Every book in these series is recommended!

There’s quite useful stuff in “Resolving Team Issues and Challenges” that really interested me. It’s a pretty quick read and the author’s explanations are so clear and simple that I could understand everything at once even when I’m not a business person. It’s well written and it asks lots of thought-provoking questions.
The personal touch and knowledge of Wesley Donahue is delightful; the way in which he shows how to avoid conflicts in dysfunctional work teams and how to improve this is really good.
This title also contains some genuinely useful advice on financial corporative practices, without any cost, that will help the leaders of a company to identify and develop the specific competences of its employees.

A Workbook about structured learning
“Resolving Team Issues and Challenges: A Competency-Based Approach to Understanding Challenges Faced by Work Teams and Actions to Resolve Them” is the fifteenth out of sixteenth books on the same topic by Wesley Donahue.
Donahue’s research is vast and engrossing. Without doubts, there is a lot to learn from this author. For this reason, I consider his book to be educational and enriching.
I liked the pictures he included in order to clarify ideas, they are very illustrative. Although the entire series has got many books, the author goes to the point when explaining them, so I found myself devouring the books without noticing the passing of time. I thought it would be hard to understand the ideas, but it was not. Four starts to this one!

Well written and complete.

Resolving Team Issues and Challenges is another very good book by author Donahue. It is not the first book I read by him and I am sure I will keep on reading his book because he is professional and provides interesting information. I found his books completely useful.
This one is not a simple book that is only aimed to be read. On the contrary, the author wants the reader to take an active role and created this workbook in which there are exercises to apply when we face any challenge. This book in particular is focused on the supervisory and management areas. So, it would be completely insightful for those people in those areas. Totally recommended read.

To be absolutely honest, I’m not a business woman but I have always been interested in the reasons of failure of some industries and the success of others, so I’ve read various financial books that I really liked. However, this is one of my favorites because of the clarity of the explanations, the useful advice and the author’s wide experience.
Dr. Wesley Donahue offers a wide range of concepts and he shows the big picture of how a dysfunctional teamwork works and how to change this situation. After reading this book, I came up with multiple ideas and the way of doing things better.
Definitely, it’s a good read that I highly recommend.

If we think about labor conflicts, we know that they are common, this does not mean that they should be overlooked, as they have serious consequences, such as decreased productivity or a high rate of staff turnover.
"Resolving Team Issues and Challenges" by Wesley Donahue is a comprehensive guide in which the author explores different scenarios and how various conflicts can be resolved. One of the things that I liked the most about this book is that it is also a workbook, where everyone can write about situations that occur in the company.
I really think this is a very practical and useful book. In addition, the author uses clear and concise language.
