And with her best friend’s lifeless body in her arms, Vada Cummings must decide if saving his life is worth sacrificing her own.
A week ago, choosing between a flea market or the most gag-inspiring event of the year was considered a life-altering decision for Vada. Her life is comfortably—fine. Anti-climatic. Suburbanly-monotonous. That is until her best friend, Noah, discovers The Generation gApp—a virtual “time machine” app that filters your phone to depict life in any year of the past. Autocorrected language, adjusted photos, customized music libraries—the app basically catapults you back in time.
Except it actually does. It catapults Vada, Noah, and apparently everyone they know back to 1995.
But since when does time travel cause the wrong words to fall out of your mouth? Why does everything suddenly resemble every 90s sitcom in existence? And why the actual hell is everyone so—empty?
Countless oddities, with harrowing consequences, continue to surface until Vada finally discovers the truth about their situation. Nothing is what it seems and she has fallen target of a disturbing ploy fueled by a delusional obsession.
FIVE STARS. I absolutely loved this book. The plot of the book was so unique and I didn’t even know what to expect. Once the characters were in 1995, I simply couldn’t put the book down. This book seriously had it all, I was laughing at parts, I was SHOCKED at parts & the ending makes me want a second book. It’s such a cool concept. Definitely recommend this book to all my bestie boos.
The re-release of this book is going to be epic! I cannot wait for others to read it!
2022 Review: 5 STARS ⭐️ Ahh this book was absolutely amazing! The plot is the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced. Once the characters were stuck in 1995 it was nostalgia central, and I was LIVING for it! I laughed, I awed, and I was truly shocked throughout the book. At the end I was left wanting more, I definitely feel like there is need for a sequel. Absolutely recommending this to all my 90s loving friends!
The book also contains a tiny playlists of amazing songs which will bring back all the feels 🎶
No joke, I was on the edge of my seat this ENTIRE read! It completely sucked me in and the ending was a turn I never saw coming. It reminded me a lot of the movie “Don’t Worry Darling” which is one of my favorites! Absolutely recommend.

Once started I could not put it down! One minute I was laughing my fool head off and the next my heart was beating out of my chest with anticipation or dread! Wonderfully written! Fast paced story. The characters are beautifully well rounded and became like family! I was sorry when I finished it. I’m hoping there will be a follow up!! I’ll be first in line to grab it up! Enjoy! I know you will!
DAMN. As swiftly as the characters were pulled into 1995, I was pulled into the chatacters. This author has a warmth and flow to her writing that kept pulling me in, and the plot twists, contorts and, then, twists again. This is one you're gonna want to pick up.
This book is saturated in 1995- even before the characters are thrown into the year. There are SO many twists and turns, so don’t try counting!! I loved it from start to finish! You will feel the excitement, confusion, anger, betrayal, and love that the main character feels. Beautifully written and will keep you on the edge of your seat!! A must read!!!
Very unique read about what an app has the potential to do. Didn’t expect this to leave me on a cliffhanger but I cannot wait until book 2!!! Loved this more than I thought I would
Fantastic! I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like this before. The story premise is totally original, and it’s very easy to get sucked into. The characters are very well rounded and fully realistic. Needless to say, I’m seriously hoping for another book!
