Book 1: The Nights She Spent with the CEO Book 2: The Baby Behind Their Marriage Merger
Joss Wood loves books and travelling— especially to the wild places of Southern Africa and, well, anywhere.
She’s a wife, a mom to two teenagers, and is bossed around by two cats and a Great Dane X the size of a baby cow. After a career in local economic development, she now writes full time.
This was a bit disappointing. I love a ‘forced isolation’ trope but it took so long to get there! The premise was good but the execution was slow and ponderous and frequently felt manufactured.
I think what was so hard to take was the over the top melodrama of the h/H wounds. The hero’s backstory was horrendous but not in a credible way. I was not convinced by the story of how his father blamed Cole and cut him out of his life.
As for the heroine- I am so over these self-sacrificing women who happily take on responsibilities that a parent can’t or won’t. I wondered as I read the supposed horrors that she had put up with - how on earth the average single parent manages to cope? The mother sounded a ridiculously one-dimensional caricature of an irresponsible, sex obsessed woman.
This is an entertaining and enjoyable read whilst lying on the beach - but I never felt emotionally engaged with the main characters.

Another stellar read from Joss, Lex and Coles' story had all the attributes I want in a romance to keep me invested, snowbound in a remote (but luxury) cabin, plenty of heat and sexy-times as well as interesting back-stories and I was hooked from start to finish.
Even better its a Duo, so we get Jude (Coles' BF) and Lex's sister's book next!
So sweet and gd to read.there here many pain and choice and bad childhood that what gother our H and h to mix there snowy life .i love how h strong head and open to adv and has her respenlty to her sissters.
Oof! There is a lot of family drama in this book, and a whole lot of terrible parents. I loved the way this story starts. It has a fabulous rom-com vibe to it before it dives into the angsty, emotional stuff. I so thoroughly enjoyed watching Lex and Cole fight against and eventually give in to the chemistry between them. It broke my heart to discover Cole’s family secret, but I was so glad to see he was able to grow from it. Now that we’ve been introduced to them, I want to read more about Lex’s sisters. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
This is book one in The Cape Town Tycoons series and it is Lex and Cole’s story and what a great start to a new series. Lexi is a chauffeur for CEO Cole Thorpe and when she meets him she is instantly attracted to him but she can’t go there as she has so much on her plate and needs her job to support her two sisters and carry on with her studies so she will have to carry on as she is and not act on what she feels and keep as much distance that she can from him. Cole is CEO of Thorpe Corporation and visiting one of their company’s but when he meet Lex he is instantly drawn to her but he can’t do anything that will deviate from the plans that he has. The attraction and chemistry between Lex and Cole was instant and strong but they both have so much baggage, trust issues and are very stubborn but when they find themselves snowed in and spend time together everything boils over and they realise that they can open up to each other and how alike they actually are and I absolutely loved them together and they both deserved a happy ending after everything that they had both been through in there lives and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Joss Wood's The Nights She Spent with the CEO is another sizzling tale of passion, emotion and desire from this terrific writer of romantic fiction.
With two sisters to care for, chauffeur Lex cannot afford to let anything or anyone jeopardize her job - not even her red-hot attraction to CEO Cole Thorpe. Lex must remain professional and not let her desire get in the way of her job - but that is easier said than done when the two of them end up trapped together during a snowstorm!
Thrust in close proximity together, ignoring the heat that sizzles between them quickly proves impossible. But will their nights of love lead to a romance that could last a lifetime? Or will they end up going their separate ways once the snow thaws?
Sexy, dramatic and hugely enjoyable, Joss Wood hits the jackpot yet again with The Nights She Spent with the CEO, a red-hot Harlequin Presents novel romance fans will not want to miss.

It was ok. Hero and heroine were nice and had each had compelling backstories, but I wouldn't want to re-read it.
It ended happily, but it needed an epilogue especially with heroes running tendencies. Hero already ran away from heroine and feelings for her. He may not have ran for same reasons as he did in his past relationships (he ran in fear of how he might feel in the future based on how he reacted in the past), however they only knew each other a few weeks and IMO I an epilogue was needed to show he overcame that tendency.
I get he finally understood why he was the way that he was and wanted to change, but after 36 years of running away being ingrained into his psyche I would think it would take longer to overcome. He had never even really interacted with her sisters so how does he adjust to so many changes at once?
I just think an epilogue was really needed with the issues he had. Np.
Lexi Satchell only ever had her sisters after her mother dropped them off with an aunt, but her job sends her into the arms of her new boss, billionaire Cole Thorpe. Cole never had the love of either of his parents and never understood why. His only goal was to seek revenge on his father but that fell through when dear old Dad died suddenly. Thrown into the “family” business when his brother gives it to him, he’s desperately seeking love but he doesn’t realize it. Lexi immediately recognizes Cole as a looker she should be wary of but a sudden snow storm throws them together and they find the love they never knew they were missing. Joss Woods doesn’t disappoint with this forced proximity story about finding love in the least likely of places. I hope Lexi’s sister, Addie’s story is next!!.

As a couple, Cole and Lex make a great couple. They have a lot in common: both have trust and abandonment issues. They didn’t have faith in love. Also, they’re fire together. Every scene and interactions are filled with chemistry and passion.
Ms. Wood’s writing is always fantastic, that’s why I keep reading her books—her latest stories deserve five stars since opening the books. This book in particular has great storytelling and compelling scenes with perfect transitions, and wonderful setting. Only that this story demonstrates that the author is human: this book has its flaws, but is a delectable reading you can enjoy.

Cole owns Thorne Corp. and Lex is his driver while he is in Cape Town. There is an instant attraction between these two. Cole had been raised by a cold mother and ignored by his father. Lex had been raised by a flighty mother who had five kids by five different men. Lex’s mother dropped off her two younger sisters for the weekend and never returned. So Lex and her sister Addie are raising them. Lex really has no time for a relationship between raising her younger sisters and going to school for a degree. Somehow these two are just drawn to each other and they can’t resist. Cole invited Lex to go away with him to a ski lodge. Of course a snow storm has them stranded where they get to know each other intimately. I loved how Lex’s relationship and attitude about taking care of her sisters affected Cole. Great romance loved seeing the male character grow and change emotionally.
You will never be disappointed when you read a book by Joss Wood. She has a way with her characters that bring them to life off of the pages and her plots are oh so good. Lex and her sister Addi finding them raising to younger their sisters. Their mom dropped them off and never returned. Lex a chauffeur and she at the airport when she meets Cole after spilling coffee on him. Cole is the CEO of Cole Thorpe and he has own life woos to deal with. The two are attracted to each other. The two find themselves stuck in a snowstorm fighting their attraction and eventually give in to their desire. Cole and Lex learn a lot about each other.
Can Cole and Lex get thru life woos and have an HEA?

A feel good story that will have you rooting for a Happily Ever After! I fell in love with the strong female protagonist, Lex with her determination to see that her two younger half sisters not repeat her childhood at the hands of their indifferent mother. I feel for Cole struggle’s with why his father and brother ignored him his whole life and how he struggles with his decision to sell off this latest company’s assets because it will effect the life of his chauffeur that he can’t get out of his mind. What can possibly go wrong when the two head off to the one location he can’t sell with an impending storm stranding them? Lots of steam to heat up the pages, but will Cole realize what he has with Lex to bury the hatchet with his brother? You have to read to find out!
The Nights She Spent with the CEO, by Joss Wood, is a turn pager. The characters Lex and Cole are immediately attracted to each other. She is his chauffeur and he is her boss; CEO of his own company. They both have emotional issues from childhood. Lex and her sister are raising their younger sisters that their mother abandoned. She doesn't have time for romance. Cole set out to have revenge on his father, by taking over his company, but he died before it happened. Now he has the company that brother gave to him. An awesome, suspensive, intense book, very charming from the beginning. These characters had trust issues that frightened/scared them from commitment to others. The author captured the essence of these characters in dynamic way.
Lex Satchell and her sister Addi are struggling to raise two young sisters they never knew they had until their mother dropped them of and never came back. There are five sisters, but Lex and Addi were raised by their aunt who left them her house when she passed away giving them a stable place to live. One of her part-time jobs is a driver for the Thorpe Corporation and the boss is coming for a visit. I enjoyed learning how Lex did everything in her power to show her sisters love and a stable home, one which she never had. Cole learning that with money, you can buy just about anything but love.

Lex has an irresponsible mother, hence she learnt responsible early enough and now she is responsible for 2 of her younger sisters, while also sending herself to school. Cole is a business Tycoon who is considering tearing down the legacy of a man who never considered him a worthy son. Their chemistry was undeniable from their first meet, in fact, they didn't bother to deny it, but duty called. However, cupid has a better plan in store for these 2 broken people who need love more than they will ever admit, how better to do this than to force them to have nothing to do than explore each other.
Lex and Addi are sisters and make the most out of what comes their way including looking after their younger half sisters they didn't know they had and due to this juggle multiple responsibilities. The way Cole and Lex meet had me cracking up, but I did feel bad for her fortunately she still has the job and they get to know each other more which in turns heats up the already simmering attraction between them. I love how this was not just about love, but also family and how everyone sees life and deals with things differently along with finding your happiness.

Lex works as a chauffer and is a student. She is struggling to juggle all the things in her life as she raises her sisters. Cole meets Lex when she is his driver. Things start off rough but soon change between them. As she continues to drive him a round they grow closer. On one of their trips things heat up between them. Will this turn into something more between them?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Lex Satchel is a part time chauffer and student struggling to take care of herself and family which consists of her sister and younger sisters who she is caregiver to. Plus, she is exhausted most of the time. While at the airport she meets her new boss Cole Thrope and these two are instantly smitten with one another. They decide to give into this spark and instant attraction. Lex and Cole both suffer from painful pasts and trust issues because of their childhood but with each other they find something that is instant and meant to be. I love the adventure and the journey these two went on. Great start to the series! Thanks to Joss Wood for and early ARC!
I loved the adventure. The story draws you in and doesn't let go. Lex and her older sisters are raising their younger sisters. Lex has a job chauffeuring employees of Thorpe Industries. She meets Cole, her boss, at the airport spills coffee on him and then bursts in to tears. The two of them are attracted to each other and fight the attraction at first. The two have baggage that they each carry and must overcome.

Joss Wood has done a fantastic job with Lex & Cole's story. Lex is stretched thin with family commitments whilst trying to get an education part time + working a part time job as a chauffeur. Cole is a CEO who has come to sort out the family business. There is no denying the sparks of attraction between them when Lex picks Cole up but can it be anything more than a fling?.

This is Book 1 in the Cape Town Tycoons Series by this author. It is an off limits romance between Lex and her boss, Cole. These likeable characters, the strong connection, and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. It is a love story with drama, humor, steam, family dynamic, twists and turns, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. The story flows smoothly and the chemistry between the main characters is combustible. A good beginning to the series.

Joss Wood is an author that I will always pick up. Her stories are well-written, steamy and worth reading. The Nights she spent with the CEO is no exception. That I have wonderful pictures of Cape Town in my head whilst reading it, only adds to the enjoyment. I loved Lex's strong character and straight talking. She deserved her HEA and so did Cole. Cannot wait for the next one. I am on the ARC list as I don't want to miss any of JW's books. Like anything of hers, this book is another good one.
I was able to read this lovely story as an advanced copy. It was a nice and warming romantic book. The setting is in Cape Town South Africa and even though I am some what traveled I have never been there. After reading about it I would like to travel to Table Mountain! The development between the main characters was nice. It was nice to read about female character whole was strong willed and open and honest about her feelings and able express her needs in a strong way.
Lex is the driver for The Thorpe Corporation plus helping raise her two younger step-sisters that her mother dropped off and trying to complete her college education. When Cole Thorpe comes to check out the company he inherited from his family she is his driver and from the start they have a hot chemistry which they both try to ignore. Loved this great book.

Lex and Cole both really guard their hearts and in a way it’s sad to see, but also was inspiring to see how much they unintentionally connected at their first meeting when Lex comes to pick him up from the airport. To have two people from such different backgrounds find one another was incredibly romantic. Can their differences be pushed aside to give them a future.

This is a well written book with strong characters and a steamy romance. The author does a great job developing the story and moves it fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes. I enjoyed and would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I was taken by surprise. The Nights she Spent with the CEO ended up being more than just a temptation, it was a revelation. From heartbreak to hope, Cole and Lex's journey has a depth of feeling that is haunting. Wood turns a fragile romance into an empowering second chance that echoes through the soul.
This is your typical Harlequin romance novel, short and to the point, easily read in an hour or two. The plot was easy to follow, with the required misunderstandings, and ultimately, a happy ever after. Wholly predictable, I love these trade romances.

There are so many unexpected twists and turns when the boss is involved. I like stories with complex and interesting characters. This book has them and it is fun to read about each of their inner conflicts when they're trying to fight their attractions to each other. Good book.
