This book had me hooked right from the first page. Action, intrigue, danger and suspense as well as an intense love story between two characters that will be hard to forget. Gavin is a very growly, highly skilled bodyguard/security expert who is on his first mission for his new employer Team Darkwater. Unfortunately, he has no clue what the mission really is about other than watching one very prickly, prim and, to his mind, snooty woman who seems to have far too many people looking for a piece of her. He has no idea what Gale had done to garner all this attention or trouble, but when her security detail is suddenly pulled, Gavin steps in to protect her. Non too soon as it turns out, as within minutes Gavin is forced to kill one would be assassin and injure another. The strange connection he feels with Gale, the primal need to keep her safe, is new to him but not something he will ignore, even if it means he needs to protect from Team Darkwater too. As for Gale, she is beyond grateful to the surly powerhouse who saved her, though his attitude and questions are hard to take. She feels inexplicably drawn to him, but she has always held the secrets of her past and her profession close, and she knows better that to trust anyone other than family. Both are mysterious characters forced into hiding in an effort to elude multiple assailants for reasons unknown. Close proximity soon leads to much more than irritation and friction between them. There is plenty of steam and need between them. Soon they are not just fighting unseen enemies, they are fighting for a future together.

I LOVE these stories where fate and destiny play their own characters! They are thrilling, go full-throttle immediately and never let up. So good. More than a five-star book.
Benson has recruited a new operative in Darkwater, Gavin McBane. (Got to wonder which came first The cover model or Gavin’s look?? Perfectly matched!) Gavin is a former SAS officer so he has a certain skill set, only one of which is sensing when something is about to happen. On this day of watching Gale Cantwell’s apartment, things begin to spin out of Gavin’s control and leads both he and Gale to an ending neither expected. There will be running from the enemy, trying to guess who that might be, getting away for another day of running with a couple twists at the end that I suspected but were confirmed. Such a surprising fate.
If you like fast-paced, well-written thrillers with humor and romance plus steam, you really must read this book and any in this series. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through Booksprout. I have read and reviewed every book so far and bought the rest of the ten in this series. Couldn’t help myself. These books are exactly what I like to read.

This is the 7th story in the Team Darkwater Series and with Gavin and Gale picking up on their destiny and fate bringing them together. Gavin his a former British SAS man recently recruited by John Benson the fearless leader of Darkwater and boy is this one juicy. The story is full of action, suspense, darkness, ruthlessness, love and much more. Gavin is at the right place and time to save Gale and their journey starts with one crazy situation after another. Nancy is finally given a job to run and even finds a new member whose name does not start with H as Darkwater men are considered the alphabet men… until it’s revealed that the new man’s nickname is really…Hogan. In this story we see old friends, Benson and Kaiser join forces to end a vicious cycle of danger and all former men are there to support Gavin and his woman in this treacherous situation of life, death, density and love! Guarding Gale is another great book in the Team Darkwater series. Even though it is the eighth book in the series, the storyline smoothly fits the series' theme and remains just as engaging as the previous books. It is a page-turner full of action, suspense, drama, romance, and surprises. Benson and Kaiser are back together doing what old spies do best, gaming the world, with Nancy adding a little spark to the game. Here's to something happening in her and Benson's future.

Gavin and Gale are the "G" mission in this Team Darkwater tale. Despite knowing that they will end up happily ever after, how they get there makes for an entertaining and engaging story.

Gavin McBane is new to team Darkwater and has his hands full with the current mission to guard feisty; take no prisoners, Gale Cantwell.
Their back and forth barbs are inspiring and when the steam starts to rise between them it becomes hotter than percolating afternoon tea.
This story was such a well written romantic thriller with action, mystery, suspense and some surprising revelations looming, all topped off by love!
I found a fast-paced and totally absorbing read in these pages as it raced towards a very satisfying conclusion.

This is book 7 of the Team Darkwater series. Just like the other parts, this is also a beautiful story about destiny and love. Your attention stays with the story of Gale and Gavin and you also experience the suspense and the many twists and turns their story takes. This is truly a story where you could barely put your book down. All I can say is that Annabelle Winters is a great author and her books are always written in such a way that your attention doesn't get a chance to slacken. In short, highly recommended!

Guarding Gale is book eight in the series Team Darkwater by author Annabelle Winters. Lord can this author put words to paper. Another reason to get lost in the world of Annabelle Winters- in this one you’ll meet an alpha male that is all business that is until there’s a crack in his armor. This crack would be a feisty, sassy & determined Gale. Oh the sparks fly- the exchange of barbs is delicious to witness.

Gavin has been recruited into Team Darkwater. His first assignment if protecting Gale and it seems boring at first until it all busts loose and they are on the run. Great chemistry, sass, intrigue, danger and secrets get your heart pumping right from the start. Plenty of steam, revelations, team help, deep feelings, danger and more keep you glued to the pages. So many twists and turns right up to the end of the story. Loved it and can not wait to read more of this group.

Guarding Gale the eighth book in the Team Darkwater series is a great story, the book is quite long but still held my attention the whole way through. It tells Gavin and Gale's story and is a great addition to this series. Gavin is new to Team Darkwater and guarding Gale is now his mission. What he didn't expect was the attraction and chemistry they share. I just loved the way they are together.

The story is an exciting, suspenseful, action-packed adventure, full of danger along with romance, love and heat.

Once this story started it took off like a rocket. Gavin is sent to watch over Gale Cantwell. It might have started out boring for him but boy it took off and things start twirling out of control and has both Gavin and Gale running from the enemy. Gale is a matchmaker who is being hunted. But why? Gavin is assigned by the ultimate matchmaker Brnson to protect her. But keeping her safe is becoming a challenge. Gavin soon realizes that his willingness to protect Gale at all costs is more than just his assignment.

This is one of those books that you can’t put down. You have to read the entry once or twice before you move on. Guarding Gail is just a perfect addition to the series. All the sneakiness. Villain. Gavin is new to Team Darkwater and his first mission is to protect Gale. Things take some interesting twists and turns as guarding Gale isn't as easy as Gavin thought. From the danger and suspense to the page turning storyline and likable characters this steamy read had me reading all day until the final page. Guarding Gale is book seven and it's a great addition to the Team Darkwater series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I like stories with alpha males and strong spirited women that don't take any guff off them. I like stories with well thought out and developed characters. I like hot spices, well choreographed and believable action scenes. And I like a story that's been edited properly. This book hit all the high marks and then some. Guarding Gale is the 8th mission of Team Darkwater, set in the United Kingdom and featuring two true Brits - accent, humor and a love of tea included! Gavin and Gale's story is full of nail-biting suspense and danger, steaming hot scenes and some rather surprising twists and turns. For me, the lead-up to the happy ending was a bit disappointing, but It's still a great addition to the series and well worth reading.
