Book of Invasions is an extremely fast-paced, thrill-a-minute read that explores the legendary connection between Ireland and Egypt. People familiar with Celtic mythology may be familiar with the Lebor Gabála Érenn, which chronicles the settling of Ireland by foreign peoples. This thriller explores the myth by having various people chasing artifacts that tell the real story. At turns visiting Greenland, Chicago, Egypt and Ireland, we follow the trail of two sisters who are unwittingly drawn into the chase by a mysterious organization also after the artifacts. The action is constant, and never lets up. Highly recommend for fans of archaeological thrillers, and/or secret society thrillers.

Author Vick has done a great job using different genres in one single book: Celtic mythology and the Occult are blended together in this book. It has the effect of taking us back to those times and locations we don’t know.
The plotline is insanely gripping, not knowing why a dozen climate scientists were inexplicably murdered is what kept me up most of the nights since I could not put the book down when I went to sleep. Also, the characters themselves made me feel as if I personally know them or I would like to know them now.
It is a well-written, wonderfully descriptive, captivating and engaging book. This is definitely a brilliant read.

The Book of Invasions by Rod Vick is an amazing example of what a fantastic novel should be. It is the mixture of very important historical moments and events. Celtic mythology and Egyptology. The different genres that merge in the story make a perfect match; intrigue, horror, and humor. Rod did it again, proving that he is an author with essence. He is able to create characters with whom I could feel identified. As regards scenes and moments in the story, I was simply astonished. He was able to make me feel part of each event. In my opinion, he manages descriptions in a way that it is not easy to be done. His descriptions of events are so detailed that any reader can feel part of the story. I've been following his work for a while and I believe this is one of his best works. Five starts for this novel.

After finishing this book, I felt bad for letting it sit on my shelves unread for so long. It was much darker and more brutal than I had originally thought, which I did enjoy. I loved the historical settings and intricacies woven in from Egyptian and Celtic lore. It felt like the general plot for these types of adventures, but there were enough unique twists and turns to keep it interesting and enjoyable. I haven't read a ton of these types of stories, but I really, really enjoyed it and will absolutely read the second one.

With a captivating cover and a very enjoyable plot, The Book of Invasions by Rod Vick is an adventurous story with history and mythology but also love and battles. It has a bit of everything and is completely entertaining. It is not a short book but the pace is fast and I didn’t find any boring moments. I would certainly read this again.
It is a stunning novel; the author created a very creative adventure story. Also, the characters are well constructed and have a good backstory. I would recommend reading it and if it were possible I would give it more than 5 stars.

This was a fun ride! Mythology mixed with archeological thrills. You honestly didn’t know what was gonna happen or who you could trust! The twist and turns from Egypt all the way to Ireland mixed with the Celtic lore was definitely a page turner! My jaw was on the floor on the last page with such a twist it actually had me staring at the wall! I can’t wait to read more of Vick’s works! So worth the read!

Imagine Indiana Jones with a bigtime chip on her (his) shoulder. A world-ranging, fast-pace rollicking adventure yarn to save the world from a 5,000 year old evil. From the opening pages which take place in Greenland, I was hooked on the adventure. Fun characters, even if the heroine is a little too sassy for her own good at times, great action, and many near, near death escapes. Jump on in!

The Book of Invasions by Rod Vick begins in Greenland at an ecological research center where a 5,000-year-old artifact is discovered in the melting ice due to a warming climate. The story chases to Egypt and finally Ireland where good versus evil characters vie for the artifact, and the power they believe it holds. Vick is a master of vivid description with characters and place, transporting the reader to deeply historic locations. You become close to the characters, their thoughts and beliefs. Just when I thought I had figured out what would happen next, the plot would take a surprising turn. Connecting history to characters that seem real made it a fun and riveting read. I highly recommend Book of Invasions. –
