PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS GOING TO BE MORE. I CAN'T STAND THERE NOT BEING MORE. This is my favorite trilogy of the year, hands down. This is probably my 2nd favorite trilogy EVER, after The Infernal Devices.

This was fucking amazing. Amazing, so amazing, absolutely amazing. RL has been a huge bitch lately, so I haven't gotten to read a whole lot, I am sure I would have read this in one sitting otherwise. This was everything I wanted and needed for it to be. And now it is over, and I am sad as hell.

If you haven't checked this series out yet BOOK ONE IS FREE [for kindle at least]

Nikolas and Sara are BAD ASS. I love them. I love all the Mohiri, sooo, so, so much. I have to shut up, or I will give so much away, but DAMN. This book...made me laugh, and cry, and cry, and totally fangirl, and cry and laugh, and smile, and did I say cry? yeah, some of that stuff..........yeah.

READ THIS SERIES.
AND KAREN LYNCH, PLEASE WRITE A FOURTH BOOK, THREE IS A HORRIBLE NUMBER....FOUR IS GOOD........SIX IS BETTER.

I need more....this was such a nice, long book.....but it wasn't NEARLY long enough

-------

SEPTEMBER: This comes out a MONTH FROM TOMORROW and I am beyond excited. I need it already. I need it!!! I've read the books twice, and I've skimmed through the books twice rereading my favorite parts [which is basically everything Nikolas!!] The wait is horrible. I need to know what happens next.

-------

JAN: So I know I keep saying "the wait is killing me" but the wait for THIS one may actually kill me. I am in need of this book, LIKE NO EFFING OTHER! I just read the first 2 at the beginning of the year, and If I had KNOWN this was going to take forever to release I would have not tortured myself. I want to reread them, again....and again and again! Nikolas is my numero uno fictional boyfriend. I heart him, hard! Karen Lynch just released a short scene from Relentless from HIS POV and I had to talk myself out of picking it up and rereading it, since you can only read a book once in a year to actually make it count towards your reading goal.....not that I wont reach my goal, but you know....you like to actually SEE the real number at the end of the year. So I will suffer.........and then suffer some more.....damn you October.......

Wow, this book is as good as the previous ones!

Nikolas continues to be an ass and tries to control Sara, and she continues to put him back in his place. I love their love/hate relationship! We also get to see more of Desmund which is awesome because I really like him!

The story continues right where Refuge ended, there are still loads of action, fighting, humor, and also more romance in this book than in the others. I really like who Sara has become, she has changed a lot since Relentless.

This is a satisfying and great ending, everything gets answered, but not in a too rushed way. I know that there are more books to this series, but honestly, I do not know yet if I will read them, I am really happy with this series as it is now and with the way everything ended.

1. Relentless ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
2. Refuge ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm devastated!
Not because of this book per se. Not because of the ending. Not even because one of my favorite series ever has come to an end. No, I'm devastated because I really, really wanted to love and rate this third and final installment 5 stars, as I did the other two, but I just can't. And now I have to explain my feelings, which, in turn, means I have to criticize, and I don't want to do that.

Alright, let's get this over with. Just a little warning: this review might contain some mild untagged spoilers, so read at your own risk.

The main problem I had with this book was the pace. It was so different from what I was used to from Relentless and Refuge, and it felt sort of... off. There were times when the story dragged a lot for me, like during Sara's training sessions, or the time spent in California, then suddenly there were time leaps of three weeks or two months we were told hardly anything about. Old issues were being rehashed und retold, like Sara having to connect to her demon, though I'd already read all about that in book 2. Some of the suspense that made the previous books so exciting was missing. There was plenty of action - fighting, ambushes, deceptions - but I somehow didn't feel it. I found it lacking and anticlimactic at times. Even the climax felt sudden and rushed.
Speaking of anticlimactic: after all the build-up regarding Greg and Madeline, I was expecting something more satisfying than what I got in the end.
The second thing (or better, character) that disappointed me a little was Sara. I absolutely loved her in the previous books, but some of her decisions and behavior in this one didn't sit well with me and I lost a little respect for her.

But enough of that. Finally, let's get to the many positive things!
The editing has improved a lot. I'm still very much in love with Nikolas. We get a fantastic new sidekick in Eldeorin. Lots and lots of Jordan action! We finally get to meet the infamous Greg. Twists and turns everywhere (seriously, I couldn't have been any more surprised by the revelation of the master). Sara's newly developed powers are kick-ass. Remy! Plenty of new intriguing creatures, mainly different kinds of demons. I loved the road trip-like part in the beginning. And, of course, Sara and Nikolas finally get together - like really together - and the romance was sweet and swoonworthy.

There was just one thing that confused me: Karen Lynch wrote about chapters written in Nikolas's POV, but I kept waiting for them, to no avail. Are they going to be released independently from the book? God, I hope so.

Soooooo... with all that said, I still love this series to bits and I think Karen Lynch is an incredibly talented writer with a vivid imagination and a great way with words.

Rogue exceeded all my expectations! Sara and the gang kick everything off with non-stop action and humor that doesn't stop.

- Jordan deserves an Oscar for best supporting fictional friend.

- Nikolas... oh, Nikolas. Dreamy, reliable, touching, amazing... I love you, Nikolas! And Chris, oh yeah, I want to see more of him!

Action, adventure, humor, and romance – all my favorite story elements all wrapped up into one explosive series finale.

The Relentless Trilogy is one of my favorites and is not to be missed!

Unfortunately this series never reached its full potential. It's more YA than NA and that plays into my rating. I prefer mature themes and characters. Enjoyable and well-written, just not for me, but I'm intrigued enough to read the complimentary books.

Read #2:

HELLO, BOOK ILOVEYOUUUUUU!!

Ugh these books are so good!! There is so much delicious action! It's so intense and Sara is badass AF!!

The really annoying thing was Nikolas' attempts at controlling Sara under the idea that males get overprotective around their mates. It was bullshit and annoying.

But it was handled perfectly. Sara put him in his place and whooped his ass into shape!
YOU GO, GIRL!!!

I can't wait for Chris' story, which comes out in a couple of weeks.
You bet your ass I pre-ordered it ages ago!

Also:

Dear Karen,
Please write Jordan's story!! I love that woman and she needs more screen time!!

Thx :)

DYING! THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND I'M DYING! FAREWELL WHILE I ENTER THE AFTERLIFE TO GO MURDER THAT BITCH A SECOND, THIRD, AND FOURTH TIME

I loved this to pieces. This pieces my heart was torn in two.

If you've read the first two. There is zero reason not to continue. READ THIS AND FEEL THE LOVE. READ THIS AND FEEL THE PAIN ! I finished Refuge yesterday, then bought and started this one right after because waiting simply wasn't an option! YOU HEAR ME!!?

Half the time I smiled like an idiot.
The other half I cried like an idiot.
Basically I'm an idiot. This book took over my heart.
It was like a leech for my soul.....

If you haven't started this series, I don't know what the hell you're waiting for. You're not getting any younger over there!

GUYS THE NEXT BOOKS IS FROM NIKOLAS' POV!! I CAN'T!! I NEED IT NOWWWWW!!!

.................

Forgive me......I might just be a little bit insane....if you'd kindly point me to the nearest psych ward, I'd greatly appreciate it.

or perhaps you could lead me to Karen Lynch so I can keep her prisoner and make her write books for me forever....

I fucking hate Elena. Fuck that psychotic bitch.

The only thing I'll say is:

The ending was too "meh". Like, what the hell?, what happened here? After all the build-up, and all the anxiousness (we all knew a HEA was coming), and that's the ending. Too rushed, too perfect, it just didn't sit well.

Anyway, the Master, that really surprised me, but then again, not really. There is just something rotten (not rotten, but wrong, in a sense) about not realising your sister/family member is beyond spoiled because you are blinded by love—and i said too much LOL

Imagine if Twilight and Vampire Academy had a drunken one night stand and produced a book not as bad as its parents but not exactly charming either.

It has vampires (but thank goodness no sparkling), a magical school, warlocks, witches, demons, hellhounds, dragons, griffins, elves, trolls, faeries, spells, kelpies, teleportation, magical healing powers, and the kitchen sink. *deep breath* That's only part of it too. For every being, there were subcategories and tons of names and characters. It was all a little bit much but in a strange way, it worked. There was a lot going on but that is sort of the way the world works.

It did feel like YA word vomit though. There was a lot going on and there didn't seem to be much continuity between the characters and their environment. This big dark broody alpha male, Nikolas, is supposed to be a He-Man but he likes to cuddle and cannot stay mad. He never follows through on being a possessive jerk and it takes away from his character a lot.

There's the girl best friend that has a major boy problem where she is thir...STY for some male warrior. Get on it girl. Every time she sees a new hot warrior, she's scoping them out and it got a little repetitive.

Sara is a special snowflake too. Half fae, half vampire hunter with a demon living inside of her. She can heal animals and call water creatures to her. She can control water and is miraculously good at throwing knives and handling a cross bow. She's pretty and waif like and needs protection more than half the time, despite her being able to kill demons with her magical fae powers.

Let me describe the battle scenes for you too.

Everything is going to hell. The good guys are surrounded and there is no way out. Then suddenly Sara shows up and is like

HELLO BITCHES!

And kills everybody single handed. It's completely silly and unbelievable. For being terrible with most weapons (like the ever practical sword) she is rather handy in a fight which EVERYBODY forgets all the time. Also, the weapons. If silver kills vampires, then get silver bullets made. Don't fight all in close quarters. Get a sniper and handle it.

But despite all of this...if I had found this when I was in high school, I would have been all about it.

There are a lot of cliches and cheesiness, especially with Nikolas, but it was fun and I burned through it really quickly. It's just a bit silly for my current taste. It's like a warm up to books like the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. Alpha Males KiDs EdItIoN!!! Kidz Bop for cliche male leads. Cards Against Humanity Junior...now without all the dick jokes!

I just wish that there would someday be a different type of male lead. Not one that was sappy or followed a girl around like a cow off her feed. Not the overbearing possessive type but someone somewhere in the middle. I'm sick of seeing only Russian, English, or Scottish guys be the main. How about a badass from Trinidad? What about a Canadian? Please. Just something different. Make the main something unexpected and I might be a bit more interested.

3.5 stars

I'm just going to stick with my initial feelings because I still don’t know how to rate this! :/ I can’t give this anything above 4 stars and I seriously debated 3 stars there in the middle. I'm sticking with 3.5.

Through the entire book, I was going back and forth with my feelings. I was like: “Wow this is an interesting beginning, okay, okay, I see you… This middle is SO SLOW (I even picked up a book that I stopped in order to read this one sooner, and finished it)….Woah I didn't expect them to be the Master and DAMN did Sara finally kick some ass."

First of all, let me say that I loved the first 3 books in this series (both 5 stars). Book 1 may still be free for amazon kindle. If you haven’t already checked it out, I definitely recommend doing so. That being said, book 3 left me a bit disappointed.

The beginning was good. I loved Jordan, Roland, and Peter (always have, always will). I liked the idea of Sara discovering herself as a Morhiri without Nikolas. I also liked the dreaded wait for Nikolas to appear again (I guess its the masochist in me). All in all, a solid first 25% of the book.

The middle of the book is where it really hit me. I wanted so bad to rate this 5 stars, I really did, but I didn’t love it! It dragged in the middle 50% and I actually was bored! Sara’s training sessions, for one, were tedious and wasn’t that the whole premise of book 2?! Didn’t we read this already? Not to mention, once again, Sara had to connect with her demon (I thought she did that already..hello book 2??)

But the last 25% picked up a bit. Honesty, I had no idea how I was going to end up rating this. The ending definitely saved it.

For some reason, Sara and Nikolas felt different in this one. They spent so much time apologizing for their actions that I got really annoyed. Just owe up to your decisions! Nikolas was SO overprotective; he had so little faith in Sara! I love you dude, but I’d tell you to get over yourself. The reunion was a bit of a disappointment for me as well. On the plus side I loved the addition of Eldeorin and some new demon friends!

I just could not bring myself to love it as much as the other books in the series. I just didn’t get the same reaction reading this as I did other books I’ve recently read (which earned the 5 stars). My slump could be a reason why I’m being so grumpy. I’ve had a hard time getting through some books lately, so I’m just glad I finished this.

Now this is how you end a series! PURE BADASSERY!!!!

Okay, so I already knew that this book will be awesome... But I didn't know that it would be THIS AWESOME! Definitely 10 stars!!!

The story picks up where it left off in the last book. The main character, along with her friends, go to this amazing road trip. It's amazing because it's adventure at every turn. Meeting new people, slaying this and that, buying kickass stuff here and there. Oh my! I can't even begin explaining the new creatures that were introduced in here.

Sara and Nikolas finally figure things out between them here. They find a sort of truce in their relationship and that allowed it to grow. I must say, Sara has come a very, very long way from the stubborn teenage girl in book 1. In this last installment, she thinks more before doing stuff. She's also a lot more stronger, which helps her greatly. Just when you thought she couldn't be more badass, she goes and shows you more stuff that she can do! It's just great!

I love the mystery, the chase and even arguments in this book. They make the story more interesting.

I didn't see that ending coming, but it sure made my day! I love what happened!!!

I'm happy with the way it all ended, but I'm sad because the series is over for me. I can assure you though, that I will never forget this series. Their world truly is unforgettable.

Amazing series!! You must not miss this!! Come on read it!!!!

Edit:
With reading this book I finished the reread of thee Relentless series. I enjoyed the books and the audiobooks. Each book is playing at a different location and I like it. It starts in New Hastings, where Sara grew up in book 1. Then book 2 we see Sara living in a Mohiri compound, where she find out she has more family and makes new friends. She also has her own little zoo. In book three they are staying at the West coast of the US. Sara gets to know her fae family. I missed Remy in book 2 and three, he only had a short appearance in book 3. But I loved how Sara mastered her talents. She learns a lot about her fae gifts but also some of the Mohiri gifts. Even though I can understand Nicholas protectiveness, I also was sometimes disappointed that he didn't try harder before she nearly left him! But that's the point, I love the characters because they are not perfect. They make good and bad decisions, take the wrong turn but somehow they work it out. Relentless is one of my favorite fantasy series!

Loved the third part too.

Absolutely fantastic series. I rated book one, Relentless four stars and book two, Refuge five huge stars. The reason for the lower rating on this last one is mostly because it was too lengthy...it rambled, it returned to topics better left in the past, it brought up things just to leave them hanging again, and it just got kind of boring after awhile. I think a heavy handed editor might have been a good call. Maybe after book two, I was expecting action packed, balls to the wall intensity, and this just really wasn't. Sarah needed to put her damned foot down a loooooong time ago with her manly man, and Nikolas needed to either back the hell off of stand firm. They ended up talking circles around each other over and over and over.

Still, I'd really suggest this to anyone who loves YA, urban fantasy, and innocent paranormals. Might be great for my young teen daughter.

I’m speechless and so not ready to say goodbye to this trilogy. I don’t believe what a journey I went through with this story from the perfect first book, through the second book- that left me on the edge and turned my stomach into jelly, to the wonderful, breathtaking and epic ending of the third book.

This trilogy filled me with so many emotions. It was an amazing reading experience. Sometimes I had to put the book down and stop myself from finishing it in one day. I loved the characters so much: Sara and Nikolas are written so well. How can you not fall in love with them? Their love story was one of the most romantic love story’s I’ve ever read. Their love survived so many obstacles. At the end I cried like a baby.

Karen Lynch's wonderful writing style nail it for me: fascinating plot with full of action that sometimes I couldn’t breathe, so i don’t understand how is it possible that this trilogy has only a few readers compared to other books of this genre? we have everything: action, love story, exciting moments, beloved characters and amazing world building. This wonderful story bewitched me.

Highly recommended for urban fantasy genre fans.

✔ There are moments in life when you pick up a book and it consumes you so completely that you feel it's going to own your heart forever. Moments like this don't happen for me every day. I'm a picky reader, I often suffer from reading slump, because sometimes it seems like all the book look so similar in plot, characters and drama.

But sometimes you find a rare gem. One that without your conscious mind seeks into the deepest recesses of your soul, and while reading it you're often confused which world is real and which world is fictional. It consumes you so completely that you get lost in the world the author created.

The Relentless series is one of those books!

✔ Reading this book was bittersweet. I didn't want it to end, yet I couldn't stop turning the pages.

✔ Every action, every suspenseful moment made my heart beat faster. I was glued to the pages.

Sara, Nikolas and all the other characters became like they were my friends. I could read about them forever! I wish all the other characters got their own book!

✔ It was a pleasure seeing this world through the heroine, Sara's eyes! She was strong-minded and outspoken, I loved her personality!

Umm, wow, that was a disappointment. It was incredibly mushy and way too lovey-dovey for my taste. And it annoyed me that Sara was just SOOO special. It's far too unrealistic. She's defeating ancient creatures who have never been defeated before because she's just soo powerful. Everyone she meets automatically likes her because she's just soo amazing. Everyone is in awe of her power because she's soo badass. It's absolutely ridiculous. One puny girl is more powerful than basically people who have been living for centuries because the author wanted her to be badass. How about a little realism.
Also, I despised Sara and Nikolas's relationship. For the entire book is was like so:

Sara does something reckless.
Nikolas freaks out.
Sara thinks Nikolas thinks she's helpless.
Sara does something reckless.
Nikolas freaks out.
Sara thinks Nikolas thinks she's helpess.
Sara does something reckless and keeps it a secret.
Nikolas finds out and freaks out.
Sara does something reckless to prove she isn't helpless.
Nikolas freaks out.
Sara decides she can't love him anymore because he 'only likes her because of the bond.'
Nikolas says he loves her.
They make out. Among other things.
Sara does something reckless.

It's absolutely absurd.

This series is absolutely amazing. The heroine is a badass, isn't afraid to take risks, caring, sweet and loves the hero. The hero is possessive, hot and loves the heroine. The side characters were great. The plot twist towards the end was shocking and I did not see this coming.

I would love to see more Nicholas and Sara. The ending was rushed . It just finished abruptly. Again, the beginning was lengthy. Nevertheless, I loved the mystery, chase, fight, arguments, friendship, romance in this book. It was very entertaining.

This is (was) the final installment in this series when it was originally trilogy. It picks up where Refuge left off with Sara deciding to go after Madeline herself because she wants everything to end after the huge battle that took the lives of some of the Mohiri. She escapes with Roland, Peter and Jordan with help from trusty hacker David. They are able to follow his very good leads and make some allies along the way. They also get into quite a few fights and its still glaringly obvious that Sara lacks in the coordinated fighting ability department. Eventually Nikolas and the other Mohiri catch up with Sara and they all decide to work together to find Madeline, figure out who the Master is and kill him, and get Sara better training on her Fae side and Mohiri side.

The first 45% of this book was fantastic. It followed on the heels of Relentless and Refuge with high adrenaline situations that keep you guessing as to what is going to happen next and what that final showdown with Madeline and the Master is going to be like. However by the second half of the book I began to wonder if we would ever meet Madeline and figure out who the Master is because the focus became centered on Sara's training and her annoyingly reversion back to gullible land. Her inner monologues in previous books were sometimes reckless but logical in a way that she was able to recognize when she was being overly dramatic. In this installment, it was as if she just didn't care and her treatment of Nikolas was unfair. I still reveled in their romance especially when they finally bonded but I felt it could have been molded a bit more maturely after all they had been through previously.

I also felt the ending was completely anticlimactic. We finally meet Madeline and there is one conversation and then it's over. I didn't expect them to bond or anything because Sara made it very clear how she felt about her but all that build up to only get five minutes on screen was a huge let down. We also didn't meet the Master until 90% and the identity surprised me but the reasoning for the evil rampage made me scratch my head and say really? That's it? Also, Sara went from someone reluctant to learn and expand on her skills to turning into a fierce badass from one breath to the next. I felt that part of her could have been marginally released way earlier and the final battle could have carried out like the battle in Refuge.

Overall, I enjoyed the series even if the ending wasn't what I expected it to be. I loved Jordan, period. I enjoyed Eldeorin, Kelvan and a few others that became really important in Sara' life. I'm also SUPER glad we got to get one last Remy appearance cause he's such a cool troll. I'm glad I gave this series a try and it definitely motivates me to give more YA fantasy a chance in the future.

At first, I didn't realize this was the last book from Sara's point of view but even though I'm sad to leave this couple, I was really happy to read their story.

I would have loved this book even more if it had been written for an adult audience instead of YA but I still really enjoyed it :P I would have loved to see more of Sara and Nikolas and their bond.

This book has lots of action and vampire killing and I was never bored.

I'm not sure yet if I'll read the next books in the series but I'm tempted. I'm curious about Jordan and if she'll find a mate of her own? Mmm, we'll see.

What an ending to an amazing series. I loved this trilogy! The author lets the story build, which leaves you not wanting to put these books down. I couldn't believe I stayed up until 3am reading this. I fell in love with all of the characters. It was sooo good, I think I'll have to read this all over again.

While I enjoyed this, it didn’t have the impact one expects from a finale. It was good, it was just missing that Wow factor. Not to mention how messy the plot got. It was one of those where stuff would happen and then become irrelevant later on so you think “what was the lint in that when this was going to happen afterwards”. Oh well, I still liked this series. I shall be reading the next book which is Nikolas’ POV, I haven’t heard great things about it but I’ll give it a go anyways and make my own judgement.

I'm kind of disappointed in this book. I really liked the first book, even the second one. It felt like it had great potential to be a really good series. But this book didn't get me hooked like the other two. It started good, I liked the characters, especially Saras friends, and I even liked Sara more in the beginning. I got to see a new side of her without Nicolas and she seemed more mature and more worldly than she did in the second book. But then everything changed, she felt more immature and the whole romance thing with Nicolas seemed just so boring and like it never moved forward. The story got stuck somehow.

Sometimes this book was 4 stars for me, other times it was 1 stars. But all in all I had to settle with 3 stars because there were some good elements in there, and I liked the end when you finally got to meet the "bad guy" and when everything came together. But I'm not happy with the main characters and how everything with there romance and lives and problems happened so fast and just got solved like that. Their feelings didn't feel realistic to me. And I'm disappointed that I didn't get to know Nicolas more. They met, they liked each other, they hated each other, the fell in love with each other and the reader have no idea why. Why do they feel attracted to each other, why do they make the choices they did, who are they as a person individually from each other. There wasn't any real spark between them in this book. The series focused way to much around the bond and being each others mate. Not who they were as characters. Okay now I'm irritated with this book again so I'm gonna change the rating to 2 stars instead of 3.
There.
It wasn't good; the characters weren't developed enough, the story was stuck for a really long time before anything happened, the ending was to much "wow, good, now we solved all of our problems including world hunger and everyone's happy!".
Maybe I should change it to 1 star... No.. I have read worse books than this. 2 it is!
