So does life. But it is finding the right person to enjoy the ups and down with as you explore the world around you. It is surprising how much you can learn from others. Just listen and watch what he does and how it affects you. It is as important to learn how life works together as it is to learn how you blocks fit together as you grow up.
The building blocks and steps in construction are similar. Life is a series of pieces coming together into a project that is built of you. But having a friend to fit pieces with and enjoy the success of it all coming together is bliss.
Then you have to repeat in case you missed something important.
Dan is struggling to make his bill payments. His buddy got him a construction job. He would prefer to be out of the labor trade, but that seems to be all he can get lately and the work is really hard. As he walked to work, the rain soaked him thoroughly and his shoes were soggy. When he got there and reported in, there was no work due to the rain. And no pay either. He could have looked for something else for the day, but it was too late now. Late in the day, when the rain finally stopped, Dan went back to find some work to do. But the guy wanted to go home – it was 3:00 so not much workday left.
Then a voice said he might have some work for him! He could use some help in the office. Tom is the accountant on the site. Dan didn’t figure he could do any “office” work, and the guy went back inside the warm hut. But work was work, so he buried himself in the paper. Tom really seemed to like this work, satisfied whenever a piece of paper found its proper place. He told Dan he could come back the next day, but Dan felt uncomfortable, as if the guy had the hots for him or something. The site gave him work for a short time, then had to lay him off when they were over budget. Should he go back to Tom? Just tell him he wasn’t interested in anything beyond the work? Without earning more money, he would not be able to make the rent this month. But Tom was gone. Now what would he do?
He tracked Tom down and was hired to build a deck for him. Tom offered him to take the rest of the day off, but he needed the money. So Tom took his nails and made him come inside to chat. Dan felt he should leave. They were from completely different worlds and he was just taking pity on Dan. When Tom’s mother dropped in, Dan left. But Tom texted him and made him feel like he really cared. And all Dan wanted was to build a life and share it with someone he could love. And somehow, he found himself dialing Tom’s number. What was it Dan wanted? He was more than tattoos and muscles. But why did only one person seem to see much more than that?
You never know when Fate is going to play its hand Dan is down on his luck struggling to pay his bills working on construction sites just to get enough money to eat and survive. But work is hard to find these days. After travelling to get to his latest job he finds that it has been a waste of a journey waste of money that he doesn’t have. But then a guy offers him some work at the site doing buddy stadium need the money. Tom knows he likes Dan straight away but is that why he’s offering him work?? He knows he wants to take him around put down the straight so what is Tom thinking?? Oh la la for such a short read there’s a lot going on in this short read. I enjoyed this story. It was the first book I've read by this author. It was a quick read. I liked the characters and enjoyed seeing Tom and Dan's relationship develop. I love bi-awakening stories, so that's definitely a plus for me. Occasionally the transition between chapters felt a little choppy to me; like they didn't flow smoothly. 4 stars.
I was glued to the pages as the construction toon worker finally found a place he was comfortable. Searing kisses, satisfying partnership, Tom and Dan send sparks flying. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
