Indie authors Faye and George Chamberlain have been married for 50 long and happy years. About 8 or so years ago, they began their co-writing journey. They had previously worked together in a corporate business which made the transition to working from home an easy one. Some days they worked from dust til dawn brainstorming the many plots lines and how they fit into the story. Writing a book came with its challenges which they overcame by recognizing and utilizing each other’s strengths. This just might be the secret to their successful marriage.
Faye enjoys various types of music and has a binder full of lyrics she wrote as a hobby. She belongs to a Creative Writing Group where she receives and shares valuable knowledge with other authors. Although she spends many hours doing various book-related tasks, time is always set aside to visit family and friends, read and travel.
As a young boy, George spent hours floating on his homemade raft, where his vivid imagination took him to far-off places that he transformed into his own adventure and western stories. He revels in the opportunity to bring humor into a story. Long walks seem to get his creative juices flowing usually concluding with him at his computer for hours putting his ideas into play.
Together, Faye and George published their first book: an inspirational mystical thriller, Connections Past, book 1 of Jeneva’s Journey. Readers said this book influenced and inspired them to make positive changes in their lives and they couldn’t wait for book 2. The Chamberlains worked feverously to complete Face of Duplicity, book 2.
Their successful co-writing experience and the characters in their books inspired them to share their prosperity by donating to the Big Brother/Big Sister organization and Autism Dog Services.
Fast forward to 2023 to 2025. George switched gears from writing, back to his passion for fabricating, reworking, and inventing something that he would find useful or challenging. Putting the draft of his next solo book, “World of Change” on the shelf, for now.
The winter of 2024-25 was a long miserable cold one. In the past, Faye would clear the table of plants and commence puzzle building til the Spring flowers started to bloom. Not this year, this year she blew the dust off the pages of a book she had started years ago. By Spring it was finished and ready to publish.. “Deadly Devotion”, features a cunning cat, is a dark, thrilling novella that combines suspense, dark humor, and fierce loyalty—packed with strategic manipulation and unexpected twists. Face of Duplicity is the second book in this series and follows the very popular Connections Past.
We follow Jeneva and the characters we came to love in book one, and in this story, they are even stronger.
However, if we think it’s all happy ever after and life is safe—we’re very wrong. The action takes place in Australia, and the description of the Great Barrier Reef with its dangerous Great White-infested waters is sublime. This is real edge-of-your-seat stuff. On a rescue mission in the dangerous water, the reader can feel the tension building on every word as time runs out and the sharks approach.
The world is in trouble with global warming and other very real threats. Dexter fights forest fires and puts his own life in danger deep in the Australian bush. Jeneva and Maddy work tirelessly in the lab to come up with a new energy source for the world before it’s too late. And somebody is still out to get them.
The tension is fantastic, the description sublime, and in the softer moments, when the wetsuits are off, the relationships between the characters are thoughtful and beautifully written with tenderness.
Q: What is better than a talented author?
A: Two talented Authors.
In the real world, George and Faye Chamberlain are a retired married couple. Like devoted swans, they have been together forever and have begun a new chapter of their life as co-authors. I am fascinated by the mechanism of this. Who does the writing? When they disagree on a plot line, which of them has the deciding vote, or how do they reach a compromise? I’d love to know the inner workings of a dual-writing session. It’s a wonderful idea for any couple that wouldn’t end up killing each other. George and Faye seem to thrive on it.
Crack yourself a Bud, and settle down to Face of Duplicity, the sequel to Connections Past.

I fell in love with the characters in book 1, Connections Past. I worried about what was going to happen next with my beloved Jeneva, Dexter and Maddy with every chapter.
